Captain Marvel in the comics is a de-facto butch-dyke with buzz-cut sides and hips that can only deliver miscarriages and a permanent resting-bitch-face.

Brie Larson doesn't have an ass but I wouldn't call her butch. In fact, with that vaguely valley-girl speech pattern she's almost too girly to be plausible as a trained Kree soldier. They don't show much of her body off but I don't get the sense that she trained at all prior to this. The way she carries herself, her mannerisms, her body language, all of it screams "young soccer-mom". She looks like she's clumsy enough to trip in the supermarket checkout line or spill her mochachino on her while talking too aggressively on the phone in her SUV.
The net result is gonna be some serious Mary Sue the way powers are just sort of bestowed upon her and she doesn't have to skill up to be badass.
