When I first started 8 years ago I had problems making small talk, poor style, needed to hit the gym, have better skin (in my case get a tan), lead a more active life, not being manipulated into doing things I don't want to do, have that one special *umphf* that helps my retention rate.
I now have all the above (umphf: I can cook above average). I'm still introverted so I rely more on common interest groups and gimmicks like drawing watercolor art. I also drive now so I can hit up the suburbs. At this point I just need to hit on more chicks and find a place to seal the deal. I haven't been following up on drawing as much but it's only a matter of time before I reach my dating goal (sex at least once a week). From there I'll progress into things like having a rotation and eventually settling down with a woman I'm not embarrassed to be seen with.
I agree, once you take care of your life up to a point you will get more pussy than you can handle. Based on real life feedback I can get quality it's just a matter of sealing the deal.

Myself as an example, benefitted enormously from the game wisdom developed and taught in the Mystery Era. Most of that wisdom still holds true and is valuable. Two years ago, I wrapped up 14 months living in a bachelor pad that although awesome, took far too much of my monthly income to pay for. It allowed me to host parties with up to 20 guests and had awesome logistics for dates and nightgame, but I wanted that experience without the stress of worrying about making rent each month.
So, in the last two years, my focus has been on building a business that will allow me to live somewhere desirable with enough cash to spare to save towards retirement, enjoy a solid bachelor pad and travel when I want to. I want to arrive at age 40 (in eight years) with a solid business that gives me work on my own terms, being in great physical shape, having a sustainable wardrobe and a lifestyle that attracts women naturally.
This requires a lot more that just what pickup style game offers.
