Do you get this treatment often when you go places out of your culture?

I've noticed germans aren't the friendliest right off the bat, but when you make and attempt to try with them.everything works out.

Same when I spent time in turkey.. I noticed a lot of white soldiers and tourist getting treated shitty cause they wouldn't swallow the pride that they weren't in their own element and made no attempt to alter their style
