I find they will be more eager to reject harshly. On the other end of the spectrum is the girl who is genuinely hot, will often look bitchy and be walking fast; again, they reject quickly, I would say summarily rather than with particular malice (bar a few, who usually hate all men so not personal). (As in, "ha, umm no" or at best "nice try little grasshopper but no".) Then there are the beautiful girls who have had nice lives because they are pretty, and see the world in a positive light mostly because of their looks and the cascade of apparently fortuitous favorable events that derive from her physical appearance: even if you don't stand a chance, they will often still be nice.
You might have been getting more numbers at university because it's not fully cold approach.
