A similar thing happened in Toronto, though she only killed one person. She fled the scene and attempted to get ger car repaired, i.e. cover up the crime and destroy evidence. She got caught. I predict she'll get off with time served:

It's alleged that the woman was driving westbound on York Mills Road when she drove up onto the north sidewalk and struck Debbie Graves, 63, who was walking back to a hotel after dinner out with a co-worker. The driver did not stop at the scene.

'She was a devoted wife and mother,' Debbie Graves' obituary reads.
Graves was visiting from Riverview, N.B., when she was killed.
In an online obituary, Graves is remembered as a creative woman who loved gardening and sewing, and was "a devoted wife and mother."
"She was at her happiest during time spent with her family," the obituary reads.
On Oct. 11, police seized the vehicle that they believe hit Graves from an auto body shop. It was registered to a 28-year-old who was not co-operating with investigators, police said at the time.
The alleged driver is expected in court Monday morning at Old City Hall. "
