My impression of Korea was that the women were objectified and monetized to an extent I've never seen in my life before. There were so many "whiskey" bars, kareoke places, barber shops etc... that acted as varying levels of escort or prostitution. Even the nightclubs have the Booking phenomenon that laughably demonstrates how shallow the culture is.
They just hide it well- on the surface, but a little experience shows that it's deeply embedded in the society.
