He literally blasted him....after the weird emotional blaming shit, he zapped him with the machine till he was wallowing in freakish misery, like him liking someone else more and momentarily hurting her feelings was some savage crime deserving of meanspirited mutilation and retribution. Physically similar to Rick accidentally Cronenberging Morty's love interest (and the rest of the world) but very different in tone. A brother doesn't normally take a guy rejecting his sister that seriously. They actually tend to get more pissed at you for actually going on a date with them. the guy tends to have a little more empathy because it happens to the average guy hundreds of times and you're viewed as a psycho if you go down that route.
