The logistics kill LAs potential. The ability to venue change on a whim and have a rough mental area map down of spots to take down like the above poster noted would be difficult to pull of in LA. Yes it is unfair to compare TO to NYC, it is the cancer that plagues this City. Toronto has penis envy more than any other place in the globe, it somehow views its self as worthy candidate that should be on the same level as LDN and NYC!?
It would be great to hear comparisons on equal Cities such as Chicago, Sydney, Stockholm.
One thing that I think shoots TO in the foot is that there isn't a lot of cool things to do. There aren't that many cool people in this City. The scene is quite small for a City of 5million. I am just an observer of this but it is a small number that is dominated by females... Not males. The majority of true trend setters usually bounce (To NYC) or totally divorce them selves from TO on a mental and physical level (bad example but think Drake).
Lastly Toronto small scene is Canadas national scene by default. NYC and LA are media centers of the USA but their cultures are not imposed on other parts of the nation (except Quebec which is culturally isolated and thus unique with its own vibe).
