Id avoid granola. You're likely to get cross contamination with wheat and soy during processing. Plus the processing of oils and added sugars will damage your heart and raise your blood sugar thus spiking your insulin first thing in the morning.
Skim milk? If you can tolerate milk at least go whole if not use heavy cream. But keep in mind milk will make you gain weight and is linked to cancer. Baby cows drink it, but humans and especially grown men really ought not to.
I switched years ago to a later, savory first meal and I love how I look and feel. Mine is usually 3-4 medium boiled eggs, a few slices of Fork in the Road Pastrami, some diced tomatoes, sprinkle turmeric, iodized and sea salt to taste. I avoid simple carbs until after noon and follow closer to a 8-10 hour eating window. I'm not lifting heavy, more leaning out.
In the late afternoon I make a protein shake with 2 scoops Promix whey, 3 raw eggs, some Great Lakes collagen, Maca powder, cacao powder, a banana, muscodine extract (powerful anti-oxidant), trace minerals, decaf coffee, about 1/3 packet of Rebound FX from Youngevity, few drops of anise and almond extract with a little added raw honey or maple syrup. It's perhaps an odd-sounding blend but I really like it.
I make sure to take a 30-45 min walk everyday usually between 11a-2p. It's really important to walk after eating to help your body metabolize the calories instead of storing them.
My energy level is stable throughout the day.
