I lived in Toronto for almost 26 years. Then I had the opportunity to live in Ottawa for 6 months. Man... what a difference a location can make. A smaller city thats more affordable, better air quality, a high concentration of good looking attractive women, a city that offers variety (middle eastern, asian, black) but has a large majority of white women, and 2 hours away from Montreal! I was going through some health issues and personal stuff so I wasnt in the right frame for getting women. But I did get approached by a few women in the city , and had better experiences with women in Ottawa then Toronto. On the other side of the river is Gatineau, Quebec which is a 300k town with some attractive french women. Real estate is affordable as well, but taxes are slightly higher in Quebec then they are in Ontario. I saw some decent town-homes going for 150k. I would also say that this city has decent nightlife in Byward Market. Ottawa is a 5 hour drive from Toronto but its an alternative for guys fed up with Toronto.
The reality is having "location independent work" is a pipe dream for alot of guys. But relocating to Ottawa can be feasible for some of you guys. You would probably need to brush up on your french because some of the jobs are bilingual but other than that your good. Alot of government jobs in the city. I would of settled down in Ottawa but I had to comeback to Toronto. I highly recommend this city, and IMO probably one of the best cities for a single guy in Canada to live in. Sure your gonna have the extreme leftist dikes but those women are a small minority, alot of good looking white women, cute chinese girls, and even some minority of latinas I forgot to mention. For male competition... Your gonna have your tall white guys, black guys and arab guys that are doing well over there. But since there are so many attractive women there's more then enough for everyone if your willing to try. Toronto's dating market is way too saturated IMO for the avg guy, and for what you have to do to compete its not worth it.
