She was an expert on gathering, but that's only good when temperatures are high enough that all the plant life doesn't freeze. In a survival situation, it ultimately comes down to protein supply, a need that she was only able to fulfil due to excellent luck with a gill net, which is something that others who survived longer than her did not have.
She lacked the necessary skills to go to a plan B. The guys who outlasted her survived only by engaging in inventiveness and going to plan B and C when necessary.
