There was better quality in London but more work was required. I keyed in hard on the exotic factor in B-ham and Newcastle. Be careful in London, the city will bleed you dry quick, and that contributes to the overall ROI?

The train system is easy to use and the railworkers were helpful. Some seemed happy to assist a teaveler that spoke English. Dont discard the bus system either. Its far cheaper than Virgin trains. Use the time to sleep. If you your doing the U.K. Trip proper youll need it. I know.
