While someone with an extreme personality disorder is more likely to pull something like this, these are inherent risks of dealing with all women. EX: buyer's remorse becomes rape, having a "happy accident" pregnancy, etc.
For me it is all about risk management. I know that anyone can get into a car accident. At the same time, I also recognize that downing a fifth of vodka and then going street racing with my buddies will dramatically increase that chance.
