Sucker Punch is great and not at all grrl-power. Yes there's girls and they're fighting. But it's in their heads. They're really mostly powerless.
And yes, the R-rated directors cut version is essential. The theater release cuts any mention of sex, for some reason, and makes the movie pretty confusing.
