The mistake here is taking her girlspeak account of the relationship at face value. What she imagined as "flirting with her a lot" could very well have been nothing. Women always embellish their stories heavily, especially when they are fishing for sympathy or emotional support.

I don't think so. They are angry at the alpha men who spurned them, and since those alphas are inaccessible they are spewing it on twitter to anyone who will will pay them any attention. Their audience is whoever will listen and give them emotional support.
