It's probably also due to the fact that Iceland is small, isolated, and they are probably desperate for any attention they get from foreigners.

I had a feeling a racial element might have been apart of the "outrage." So, does this mean that nobody cares about poor, dark-skinned latinas compared to white women? And let's not forget about the "Pure White Woman" stereotype.
