I think that's fine. You're still approaching. Some guys solely meet girls via making friends and introductions (and likely online). I think it's too indirect.
In my understanding, "social circle game" would consist on spending a lot of time doing activities with guys and girls with the chance of getting "in" with girls in the group or introduced to girls in the group.
