I read an article that the ages of ancient humans in genesis and the book of Enoch would have been possible due to the fact that the oxygen content of the air was much better in the past.
There's fossil evidence of trees growing so big and old that the land around them started to build up and up until the trees were completely buried under soil. Not to mention flying insects of massive size that wouldn't be able to lift off today since there is much less oxygen in the air.
Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if the reason we aren't all living till 140 years is due to poor food resources. There's a pic of that old guy who used HRT and got jacked in his seventies. There is no way he would be able to pull that off without hormones since he trashed his body.
In short, $hit in $hit out. We don't live to 140 because of our poor quality food sources, lack of physical exercise, and hormone mimicking substances (xenoestrogens) causing a, "death by a thousand cuts". Want to live longer, eat healthy and be active.
