Sex Is Cheap (Slate.com article)
This part made me laugh:
No better way to make a girl insecure about herself than saying something like that!

Their study seems flawed...
How do they get away with this? All it means is women aren't as open to being propositioned for sex, not that they don't want it... If those researchers had game, it'd be different.

In one frequently cited study, attractive young researchers separately approached opposite-sex strangers on Florida State University's campus and proposed casual sex. Three-quarters of the men were game, but not one woman said yes. I know: Women love sex too. But research like this consistently demonstrates that men have a greater and far less discriminating appetite for it.

Thats the point though, women arent inherently DTF at any given moment, where men normally are. Though I would agree that that seems to be more of a measure of the situation and setting. Try it in a bar or club I'm curious what the results would be.

You're right. I think those researchers tried to get an explicit YES from women. I bet a lot of those women wanted to fuck with them but no woman will tell a stranger "yes, I want to sleep with you" even if she enjoys the idea. They give non-verbal answers. You just have to know how to read them.
I referenced this article a while back towards the end of this post:

This article assumes "men want sex, women want relationships." Gee, if men are not entering relationships because they're getting sex elsewhere, who are they screwing? We didn't all become gay.
Spend any time around young women, ignore what they say, and it's very clear many don't want relationships, just yet. Or only a relationship with a guy hot enough. Otherwise it's hooking up and casual dating.
