A husband who prizes your looks, not your mind is the key to a happy marriage

Samantha Brick, Samantha Brick, Samantha Brick... wasn't that the retarded ugly woman who wrote an article about having troubles because of being so pretty recently?
Yeah, it's the same one. And she's still bullshitting about the same thing, about how her husband is wise because he chose her for her amazing looks (one can always dream). I wouldn't take the article seriously.
Busted.

Good concept, bad example.

Don't be so quick to dismiss her. She spits PURE truth in this piece, covering many of the issues that we've discussed here with regards to the dynamic between men and women in relationships and where they go wrong. We don't have to agree with her assessment of her own looks - it only matters that her husband thinks she's beautiful. In particular, her honesty about her resentment towards her first husband, when SHE was the breadwinner was telling. Women want the benefits of making a big salary, but don't want the responsibilities that come with being the breadwinner. Women see the money they make as THEIRS, and would rather make less than feel like they're carrying a man. This way, she gets everything she wants, still makes a little money on the side, and her job becomes making her man happy, which really isn't that hard if you want to do it. Bravo to her.

It all sounds nice, but the real question is this: can any chick who is this much of an attention whore really be the loving, doting wife that she presents herself to be?
I am suspect.

My goodness, that sounds excellent. I would not even care if my wife loved me if she'd treat me that well and respect my lifestyle. I'd probably get one-itis after a fashion.

Her previous stuff aside - that is gold. You can guarantee that is one happy husband. I think as guys we're pretty simple creatures in this regard. If our basic needs for food and sex are met and we feel liked we are being looked after. The girl will be rewarded and taken care of. I honestly don't think it's a difficult equation.
I despair of any woman who says 'I can't figure men out.' Really?
True that. I'd treat most any attractive woman very well if she was that dependable.
I would say that the author of this article found a gold mine in that French dude. She's in her 30s and happily remarried, which is not common at all.

It's interesting how typical the reactions are in the comments. Any comments that are positive towards her are downvoted, and all comments ripping her are upvoted. Most women view her as some sort of servant, while ignoring the fact that she tried it the other way first, and decided this way is better. Also, no one says a woman has to be "all in" to the extent she is. There's plenty that women can pick up from her though. Even after clearly stating how he returns her affections, most women still condemn her. That's says everything.

Wouldn't basing everything on looks leave a guy very vulnerable to being taken to the cleaners in a divorce?

I don't know if there's any factor that makes a man less vulnerable to divorce. In THIS specific case, I don't think he's any more vulnerable because this chick already had a negative experience when marrying for other reasons, and she, as much as he, have signed off on the arrangement they have. She's been in the position of carrying the weight of a marriage and didn't like it so much. Being taken care of is better for her, and based on her previous article, her looks got her NEGATIVE attention before. Now she's getting positive attention for it, so she's on a fuckin' cloud every day.
