First, singles groups are poorly run, because people get matched and drop out. But women are more social, and have better networking organizations. Men need to improve.
Second, I see a terrible strategic error here. People read Roosh's books and complain about sausagefest clubs. But there are an equal number of men and women, so if the women are not in clubs then they must be elsewhere. Quick searching shows many speed dating, singles dinners, and other events. I don't know about online. Maybe club game is dead here, but you can crush it with work game, social circle game, day game, or online game.
I especially hate it when people complain about Ed Hardy T-shirts or a frat boy atmosphere. This sucks for hipsters or culture aficianado's, but is ideal for loud frat boys. The point is that every market clears, and everybody has a niche. The question for DC is where are the single women, and what type do they seek.

Roosh is great, but he is almost comically anti-DC. Yes, there are surely a hundred better cities for women, but we need to make the best of things here while we're here (for those of us who do not have an on-line income stream). I for one am not likely to leave the area for a long time, so I gotta make it work as well as I can. I think you have some good ideas up there. In fact, I think speed dating is worth considering just for the practice value alone: you are guaranteed to get to talk to a bunch of women in rapid succession. After the event you can hit a bar and be socially lubricated.

Speed dating can be a useful tool for getting over approach anxiety and practicing general conversational skills. It sucks for actually meeting women though. The times I've been have been massive dongfest with highly picky, pudgy, superficial women.
You can also anthropologically observe other guys in action. Since there are too many guys, they make you sit in a dunce chair at certain intervals to wait that round out... and you're still sitting right next to active "dates," allowing you to sketchily listen in. Running one of those events must be entertaining. I hear they're quite lucrative.

Like I tell everyone else, it's all about perception. Sure, there are plenty of better cities, but for those of us stuck here... we have to make the most of it. Which is why VK, Rookie, myself, and others are still smashing chicks left and right.
I agree that club game is pretty terrible here, which is why I stick to day game, bars/lounges, and online game.
I haven't tried speed-dating or many of the activities (like salsa nights) and have heard mixed reviews. Salsa seems like a waste of time because of the amount of men there. The women (so I hear) are really only interested in the best dancers, so it might be better as a date.

Are you DC guys masochists or what? Why on earth are you wasting even one second on local women?
Correct me if I am wrong, but Washington DC has a bunch of tourists and visiting government employees, right? Why not grow a pair and start working daygame on all the pretty tourist girls visiting the monuments and whatnot?
Sometimes you need to think outside of the box to get into one.

The thing about DC is that there aren't too many other cities that will pay someone $150,000-$200,000 a year just to "man" some computer system for some government agency...for BARELY 8 hours of work a day....including time spent posting on Roosh's forum and keeping track of the British Open. You don't have to rack your brain trying to think of some business idea...just let the fukked up USA foreign policies work for you.
True, this creates more "weekend warrior" trips instead of the 3-month or 6-month stays many of you get to do but eventually some of us DC locals will get a taste of most of these foreign lands.
