Ancient Aliens

just started watching this show from the beginning. I think its extremely good, but the conclusions the "experts" draw from ancient mysteries are a bit predictable. The one guy is always like, "We don't know whether the Mayans were influenced by Ancient Aliens, but the evidence strongly suggests, they were influenced by Ancient Aliens." Also, the show is worth watching for this guy alone.

Dupe of a thread I unknowingly duped:

Although I will say the show is awesome. One of the only things worth watching on television anymore.

Gets way better. I actually like most of the more recent episodes better than the 2010-2011 stuff.

Sitchin's theory about Nibiru (Neberu) is a total fraud. It is a voluntary misinterpretation of the Sumerian tablets.

http://projectavalon.net/forum/showthread.php?t=19269

"In the words of Mr. Sitchin, the Sumerian "gods" Anunnaki come from the planet Neberu (which is in distress), and they find gold on Earth to restore their atmosphere. Unless proven otherwise, the Mesopotamian tablets which would formulate this information does not exist. No scholar, no specialist has ever mentioned even hearing about it! I did extensive research in many special libraries and to several specialist publishers in the ancient East: nothing, these texts have never been cataloged ... For over thirty years it has been repeatedly claimed from Zecharia Sitchin to provide the references of these tablets, but he never did.
I remind those who read these lines carefully that, to date, many readers and magazines still blindly believe Sitchin's fictitious thesis according to which that Mesopotamian star Neberu would be the planet from which the "gods" Sumerian come from. Ditto for this idea of the gold derived from landmines on earth to filter and stabilize the atmosphere of this so-called sinking planet Neberu"

Original text:

I don't believe in any of this Nibiru/Annunaki stuff. But have any of you guys heard of Bob Lazar? He claims that he is a defector from a team of scientists whose job it was to study the technology of crashed UFOs and reverse engineer them. He has old videos on youtube. Not saying I 100% believe it, but it sounds more legit than the Nibiru stuff. He's descriptions of alien technology are so detailed that it really makes me wonder if he's the real deal.

Quote:Quote:

Clinton – who had been using both hands as he talked, sitting with both feet on the floor – immediately adopted what Hansen described as a defensive stance, indicative of intention to conceal, when first asked about UFOs. Clinton began gripping firmly both arms of his chair and crossed his legs. For most of the remainder of their conversation about UFOs, Clinton’s right hand stayed firmly anchored to the arm of the chair.

Asked if he had investigated UFOs as president, Clinton said he had “sort of” during his second term, but then appeared to backtrack on the chronology, changing the topic to Area 51, the federal government’s super-secret site in the Nevada desert. Clinton claimed Americans thought aliens were kept at Area 51 because workers there were required to wear special uniforms. But Hansen noted a leading Area 51 expert he consulted said Clinton’s claim was novel and had never been made before.

Hansen identified incongruence between what Clinton was saying and his body language when asked about the Roswell incident, where a “flying saucer” allegedly crashed on a New Mexico ranch in July 1947. While telling Kimmel he had “everything” checked, Clinton was shaking his head no. Further, Hansen pointed to a 1995 General Accounting Office report that stated all administrative and communication files between 1946 and 1949 from Roswell Army Air Field had been destroyed.

At times, Clinton clinched his jaw, looked away from Kimmel and closed his eyes, all signs, said Hansen, that Clinton was experiencing stress or attempting to conceal his feelings. Other times, when UFOs were discussed, Clinton would stammer and change topic mid-sentence, something that disappeared when the topic changed.
What has Bill Clinton so stressed about UFO's?

Some of the claims in that show actually make me laugh out loud. It's good for light entertainment, but don't watch it for serious scientific analysis.

I'm not a hater...I own the box set!

Speakeasy....Bob Lazar is fascinating. Even if he's just an attention seeking fantasist, it's still enjoyable to listen to. Amazing if he's even partially speaking the truth though.

Ancient Aliens is code word for ancient men of color, usually Africans. Any time a Westerner has trouble connecting historical dots they will assume first it was green men from mars rather then looks at plausible facts that it was ancient men from places such as Africa.

The Aztec and the "mystery" of the pyramids is another BS circle jerk by confused westerners. They can't explain how the base of the Aztec pyramids and the Kushte commissioned early pyramids have the EXACT same measurements so instead of linking plausible clues to cross seas travel and trade that existed (Columbus was not the first man abroad), they would rather say blue men from mars came down and measured out the stones. People whom are trusted to be smart believe this shit because it is completely uneasy to believe that anybody other then a white guy did anything of note in the records of history. My own tribe were masters of canoe making and making war ships. It is believed the British borrowed many tricks from us and use their manufacturing might to process materials together to create a legion of Navy ships which helped them conquer half the fuking globe.

The sea currents which Columbus found by mistake were most easily accessible by Africans and Central Americans and it is silly to think they didn't exploit these avenues for trade and exploration if they were literally on their doorsteps. You literally stuck your boat on these currents and you will be taken to the carribean and Central American regions, all you had rondo was manage the intense heat and length of the trip. There are head carvings of negroid men in Aztec ruins and Aztec themed art in places in Western Africa, but again Aliens, of course.

They will always bring up silly fairy tales instead of being honest in given the ancient Aboriginals men of the Americas or Africans there fair dues.

^ So Stone Henge was built to worship Africans? That's almost as implausible as the stuff the Ancient Aliens team espouse!

The series is definitely unintentionally hilarious at times. You might enjoy the classic south park episode about the show:

"Were aliens present at the first Thanksgiving? We just don't know..."

I've seen the Bob Lazar stuff before and he's pretty convincing- the problem is he made some claims about his background that were later debunked. For instance, he claimed he graduated from MIT, yet there is no record of him being enrolled there and no one had come forward saying they remember him being there. He claims it is a conspiracy to attack his credibility but really- not one person can vouch for him?

Stanton Friedman (ufologist/ nuclear physicist who's on almost every ufo doc ever made) believes Lazar is a hoaxer and possibly even a disinformation agent of the government:

Kosko- have you ever read Fingerprints of the Gods by Graham Hancock? The author is frequently featured on Ancient Aliens but does not buy into the theory. He believes mystery structures of the past were indeed built by humans, and they are a legacy of a much more advanced civilization that has been lost.

The negroid statues you mentioned are believed the have been built by the Olmec people. Hancock maintains the Olmec were in all likelihood Africans who migrated across the Atlantic and set up shop in MesoAmerica- who were later killed off by the indigenous peoples.

He does mention the figure of Quezacotal ("Viracocha" in south america). The indigenous myth suggests this figure (described as a white skinned god from across the sea) came to earth to teach humans about farming, astronomy, architecture, etc...sort of possible range of agreement between the ancient alien/strictly man-made theory.

It's really fascinating stuff, makes your head spin when you think about all the possible ways things could have played out. Nevermind the pyramids- When you have modern engineers saying that sites like Puma Punku or the Baalbek monolith could not/barely be built with today's technology, it begs the question; we are not hallucinating these structures- they exist, they've been measured- so how the f*** did they get there?

Anatomically modern humans have existed for about 200,000 years. Recorded history barely goes back 10,000 years, it is entirely plausible an advanced civilization which predates what is accepted by mainstream archeology could have existed. I mean look at the recently discovered Golbelki Tepe in Turkey- it could be almost 12,000 years old. The same about of time separating us from ancient Sumeria separates Sumer from whoever built Golbekli Tepe. Try wrapping your head around that.
