When it hit last Wednesday, people in the comments immediately predicted a shitstorm. I figured I'd get some reaction, especially since I went after upper-middle-class white girls--who aren't accustomed to being attacked in any way--but wasn't that surprised when things remained relatively quiet. That silence held until today.
I *was* surprised. I thought it would have been immediately pounced on.
And here's where I honestly don't understand women:
The post was sitting there for five days, existing, and these women's lives were going on as normal.
Someone obviously saw it, was deeply offended, and just had to share how offended she was with all of her easily-offendable friends and link to the article, none of whom would had been personally-affected by the article existing on the site, or even known it had existed if some concerned woman didn't speak up in the name of 'helping'.
It's
women who want to make each other feel shitty, hysterical and upset, not us. They just can't wait to share the misery and outrage via social media. They create the shitstorm.
Women are addicted to drama.
I've often wondered: if 'helpful' carers didn't teach retarded children that 'retard' was A BAD WORD, how else would they know to get upset about it.
