So how do you all feel about tattoos? Both for yourself or on girls your sleeping with?

What used to kind of be edgy LONG AGO is about as cool as the Twilight series now. I think 95% of girls with tattoos have ruined valuable God-given real estate on themselves. Also I can't think of very many men's tattoos that are awesome.

Having tattoos also leads other people to make quick assumptions about you, I think.

But if you do get one, don't be this guy:

Depends on the girl and depends on the tattoo.

IMO, hot girl + tattoo = hotter girl
ugly girl + tattoo = uglier girl

Also depends on the tattoo she gets. A tramp stamp, or something like a butterfly or something gay like that looks lame. But if she has something that's really cool and unique, then it can be attractive.

Tattoos shows your persona. And must be unique to be something else. Ugly people or not.

Women or men, actually, when I see a person WITHOUT a tattoo, that's when I am shocked and actually admire their rebellious nature.

yeah, it's all, Look at me I'm so unique and a rebel like everyone else! Most of the designs are just insipid as well.

I agree I think now someone who doesn't have one is more of a rebel.

I was wondering if I was biased though because working with criminals and seeing their lame ass tattoos day in and out probably predisposes me to thinking someone with tattoos is a douche. I especially love the idiots that tattoo their area code number on their heads. Really dude? You can't remember your area code to call back home when your out of state?

Then they complain they can't get a "real" job. Really? with your "13" or "14" and tear drops on your face and area code you find employers are reluctant to hire you?

I have to disagree. Some of the most boring bitches I have ever been in bed with have been with peircings and tats..its all "..look at my I'm a bad girl rebel with a chinese symbol.." but I think in some cases the most outwardly freaky looking, metal looking , peircings and tats chicks are some times the most boring. In direct contrast I can say a very wholesome non make up wearing, clean skinned and "normal" looking German chic I had was far more of a sexual beast and freak than the typical slag with a tramp stamp.

As far as tats in general, I think its really a personal decision. I mean, now a days its gotten so lame, that every trendy wana be bad ass has a Nautical star, some dice, a basketball or some other gay common place pick off the wall art. When I was growing up, only real bad boys had tatoos and I can still respect that. Like an outlaw biker or a real outcast/gangster who tattoos his forearms or hands or neck, entire calves etc...that atleast makes a statement and when people see it they still get uncomfortable. I say if you are going to get a tattoo do it right.

I have most of my left armed inked up with a big ole tittied mermaid. I could give a damn what people think about it.

They are totally over played. People think they are being edgy and unique when they are doing the exact opposite.

For most people it's kind of like 'I want to be so rebellious that I am going to get the thing done to me that everyone else who wants to be rebellious gets done. Then I will fit in with them.'

For white chicks, I don't think I have ever seen a tat that I like and for black chicks it looks even more stupid because you have black ink on black skin.

Good thread, been thinking about this for some time.

Girls: I think tattoos on girls have been rendered meaningless (as indicators of sluttiness, coolness, or edginess) by their saturation. A girl with tats may or may not be any of the above anymore. The same goes for piercings. Girls are herd animals and they've mainstreamed all those things by copying each other ad naseum. Tattoos are basically like Ugg boots at this point.

Me: I don't have any tats, but I've thinking about getting one for a long time. But, every time I thought I arrived at a good idea, it seemed retarded within a few days. That's a bad sign. I still think the safest tattoo is text or a quote. The odds of someone having your exact phrase (unless its something lame and cliche) is rather low.

Now something like that is different. And looks like it hurts like a mutha!

I don't have any tattoo's because I think there's nothing original about a tattoo anymore.. But, if I do mark my body I might do something like this. Or until I find that one tattoo that I'm 100% sure I won't regret when I'm 65. Maybe my kids face, or my grandfathers name with some kind of heritage salute. I never could make up my mind at the tattoo shop.

This whole I respect someone if they don't have a tatt now thinking is retarded. Get a tatt, don't get a tatt, doesn't matter, If you feel something strong enough and it has an importance to you that you would want to make it permanent on your body then there's a great reason to get it, if you think you need something, anything to make you look badass you're a moron. If you look at ink and can see the artistry in it but know its not for you great, if you think I'd do it if everyone else wasn't doing it, you're a moron. I know an Asian girl with a ton of the sexiest colorful tattoos. She has one full sleeve, and stuff all over her hip and back. Her tattoos are really amazing, and were all done by a big name artist. She calls herself a "collector." I've known her for about 6 years, and banged her maybe 25 times. This girl is one of those kids who was adopted from Korea when she was a baby. She was raised in Omaha Nebraska. After she finished college she came on a vacation to Hawaii and stayed. It's a lot easier to be Asian here.

I'm a little uncomfortable posting more pictures, because I really consider this girl a friend, but here's the arm. It's a little more filled in now:

She is one of the healthiest humans I have ever met. She's constantly on her fitness stuff, and is an incredible surfer. She's come to Pipe with me and gotten barreled like a pro. Except when she's waitressing, she basically lives in a bikini. She's a solid 9. On top of being insanely gorgeous, this girl is one of the sweetest people I have ever met. She would do anything for me. If I called her right now and told her I needed every dollar she had, she'd give it to me. Everyone I know loves her. She has a little side business that she's passionate about. She just finished a masters degree, and has some kind of yoga teaching certification. People always say I should date her more seriously, and maybe I will now that I think about it. I think she really has a thing for me, as well. She flew to Kuwait one year when I couldn't get home for Christmas. She's just beautiful all around.

After she was out here a few months she got her first tattoo. She got a few more after that. Her adopted family came out to visit her. The white parents were so appalled by the tattoos, they flat out disowned her. That was years ago. When she calls they hang up. Her extended family treats her the same way. He grandma told her she should just try to apologize for what she's done, and maybe some day they will accept her again.

That is fucked up. Some white people who can't fuck right in the first place yanked some poor baby and took it to racist farm country to grow up. Then they just shun her when she grows up and behaves differently than they do. Why go through the hassle of even adopting some Korean ass baby in the first place if you're just gonna torture it later in life over some ink. I'm convinced the whole screwball clan is just jealous. That and some white people are generally uptight about stupid shit.

I think my feeling sorry for her situation is probably a good reason to not get into any type of relationship situation with this girl. That and I've been banging this little stylish 22 year old Asian party girl for a week or so, which is for another thread.
