Toronto meetup recap

I arrived about 10 minutes late and there was already a group of seven or so in the back of Drake. There were introductions and it was quiet enough so that we could talk as one group. As time went on we splintered off into side conversations. Through the course of the night around 11 or 12 guys showed up, half of them from RVF and the rest blog readers.

There was one MRA guy who was educating some guys on what that movement is about. He didn't call me out on my recent MRA hate. [Image: smile.gif]

Vacancier was asking me a lot of good questions about places I thought were the best, which brought out a lot of good discussions.

Rudebwoy and I waxed about Zagreb with the other guys a bit. The DC meetup was all Poland but this one had a lot more talk about other places, especially Brazil.

I told the guys about my Toronto weekend experience and they could only nod their heads. They have a lot of heart to put up with this scene, which when it comes to getting laid seems harder than DC.

Towards the end it was me, rudebwoy, kosko, and bodmon. Rudebwoy is working on getting out of Toronto and I strongly urged the other guys to do the same. Then around midnight it was just me and kosko. We went downstairs to listen to a jazz band. He approached a pair of girls and I could tell they weren't going to be friendly. Then I saw a cute blonde and approached her. I was surprised I didn't get cockblocked when I turned to see kosko running interference on her friend. He bought me an extra 5 minutes but they ended up leaving.

We were both in the mood after that. As much as I dislike the city, I wanted to talk to girls. We walked in front of another bar and saw two cute girls dancing by the window. Instinctively we both went to the door. He approached the Latina and I approached the girl who ended up having Ukrainian ancestry.

Long story short: brought them back to my apartment, went for the gold, but failed. I'll take the blame since kosko's girl was more down. I couldn't crack my girl... she wanted me to get her number and take her out on a date or some nonsense. Kosko thinks she's an escort.

For a Monday night there was some action. It was definitely great to meet the Toronto crew. I feel your pain!

Good meeting you last night Roosh.

I think you did better last night because you were with kosko. We talked about this briefly when we met, Toronto is one of those cities where going out solo is a big disadvantage. Almost everyone you meet is in same sex groups, so if you are approaching a girl on your own, she immediately becomes suspicious and gets her guard up.

^^ Definitely.

I like to think that you can roll solo anywhere, but having a wingman made a world of difference. If you don't have a wing in Toronto, might as well stick to day game.

It was nice meeting you Roosh and to get to meet some new guys from the forum. Met also a couple of guys I've met before, ManAbout and Rudeboy. Was cool to meet you guys. Enjoyed talking to everyone and was very interesting to get Roosh's perspective on the places he's been traveling to and living in the past few years. After talking to him, I am even more excited to go to some of the places he mentioned (Poland, Ukraine, Croatia but also Colombia). We should have more of these meet ups.
I'm also not surprised to see even Roosh struggle in TO as it's a place where you have to work hard even for a mediocre 5 at best.

If Toronto is kind of the New York of Canada, I'm not seeing why it's not overloaded with girls "from the provinces". Why such a sausage-fest?

I think regular meetups, even in cities Roosh isn't in, is the next logical step for this forum. Get guys here who are just internet friends to become real friends. Then we will see a lot more of RVFers gaming together, traveling together, moving abroad together and all kinds of other creepy shit.

Great suggestion RioNomad!I was thinking the exact same thing. What a better thing than to hang out with, going out with and even traveling with like minded guys.

Toronto meetup recap

It was a good time. Good to put faces to forum names. I got many names messed up as I tried to get to know folks real names and not are Fourm-IDs.

Great take always for me was just comparing everybody experience in the City. It game me a clear goal to get a game plan going and to get the hell out of here as quick as I can. Also I was impressed of how suave a lot of the dudes were I'm just a broke student but alto of the RVF Toronto heads were slick and stylish. GQ all the way.

Another great takeaway was just seeing Roosh do his thing. Before I ran interference on that Blondie at the Drake I admit I was just chilling back taking mental notes, dude is way too smooth and I realized that you can't over think things and just have to be real laid back and easy with it. Plus you can see that you are reward for the time you put in. Roosh has climbed Everest and has paid his dues and now can boldly approach anything he feels like. That's something I need to develop.

I'm saying that Blonde Girl had mega issues. She was nutty beyond belief she probably went home and cried to her cats.

I got put in a bear trap with that petite brunette but even though I did not find out she had a BF till like last minute I still got that hesitant vibe from her all through out the night. She was doing dumb shit like escalation with me then de-escalating hard and then running of to have "summits" with her friend. She would do dumb shit like let me grab her ass (by lightly guiding my hand down when I tried to go for a swipe) then going all ape shit that I did it. Her hamster was stuck under a boulder she was trying desperately to not let it get crushed it seemed.

In retrospect I try to see what I could of done differently but I really have no idea. I don't know how much more aggressive I could/should of been? Who really knows but I am not discouraged. Toronto is just a mine field you use these close calls as learning opportunities.

The highlights for me is seeing the Blodies friend from The Drake have a major nuclear hamster meltdown when Roosh approached her friend. She went back and forth so lost, so eager to jump and in nuke the exchange then she finally ran for refuge with her iPhone.

Or: That random dude whom none of us knew but dude approached Roosh while were upstairs on the Patio, He gave props to Rooosh's Blog but was really creepy about it - dude was a mess and a typical Toronto schlub, he was even gloating about his LTR/GF he had waiting downstairs. why you bring your GF to a spot where you going to me a guy whom runs a site on travel and pickups makes no sense to me - dude was a mess. If he is reading this yea man I am calling you out - stop being a mess.

Or: The hyper neck snap we had when walking past The Beaconsfield. We both saw are prey and like hawks went in at attacked. Gold.

Or: How obsessed women are with food after the bar. Its like they don;t count the calories if they are drunk and use it as a chance to cheat. Those two girls were literally vibrating for some pizza. I made the Brunette download a App to try and order Pizza she was giddy with joy.

I got that Escort vibe from that girl because she was cold as a ice block, living it up in Yorkville (one of the most expensive 'Hoods in the City), 50 Shades of Grey, Cats, did not get laid in months, Odd stories about family that did not add up, $1000 Moncler Coat, a crappy Ford car, etc, etc.

Nothing she put out made sense - she was a basket case but all so typical of Toronto women. I've seen women with money in this City - that's not a red flag at all - the red flag was how emotionality ruined she was. Only a life of getting paid by old rich men to ram you can bring on such bitterness and coldness.

First off I would like to say it was a pleasure meeting Roosh again, plus all the "followers" who braved the cold and made an appearance.
I myself made the trek from suburbia on the coach to the main bus terminal, then took a streetcar to the Drake Hotel. To my surprise Roosh was not on the first floor so then I went upstairs and saw a chinese guy looking around, I approached him and said "Roosh meetup". He looked at me with a wry smile, so then we both went downstairs. As I was walking I noticed Bodmon who was checking the forum on his smartphone, I introduced myself and then Ikemen (OZ dude) approached the group to introduce himself.
The bar was pretty busy, I was surprised considering it was a monday night and the weather was just above zero degrees. I left for a moment to find a cash machine and bumped into Roosh entering the place talking to a older man, who was also there for the meetup.
We all gathered in the back beside the bar, Roosh fielded questions from the guys who were very eager and excited to meet him. VP showed up with a friend and filled me in on the oilsands "crew" plus the situation out west. Of course nothing but good things to say about the crew and the cities out there.
I actually was curious to meet Kosko, who showed up pretty late and I must say the dude is legit. This guy is the official Roosh rep for the Toronto scene.
For me the highlight was Roosh's face when describing the girls in Toronto, I am sure he is working on a write-up but it is official they are the worst he has encountered.
Hats off to Ikemen who opened two decent looking girls at the bar, one was a complete bitch but he hung in there. It was a strange vibe in the bar, I noticed a group of five girls sitting at a table closeby and they were drinking champagne like it was the weekend.
At the end Bodmon, Roosh, Kosko and myself went upstairs to chat and get away from the annoying "jazz" band. Bodmon looked like he did not want Roosh to leave, Kosko looked ready for action, Roosh was trying to get the night going - he bought us Jameson whiskey shots and I was more concerned about getting beauty sleep for my 9-5(lame I know).
Just after midnight, Bodmon and I headed out. I turned around to see Roosh and Kosko scoping the club to see what they could get up too, I chuckled to myself.

yeah the meetup was good, i'm glad i came out. the main two threads of conversation were travel and the shittiness of toronto. i made roosh crack up when i told him about how i was cockblocked by a fat friend at a singles event in toronto (srs). and roosh and rudebwoy's tales of croatia had my toronto-raised mind going all like

in terms of demeanor roosh is a very chatty, friendly, and understanding guy. when the group thinned out at the end and we could talk more in depth about our individual situations, he gave me some great words of encouragement about the necessity of travel as part of the game and making the most of one's youth, which really solidified a desire in me to get the fuck out of toronto. i wish him the best and look forward to the rants on toronto that are sure to come.

Oh sorry I forgot to add one last thing, VP was talking with Roosh and I about Brazil. He said that in Brazil alot of people think he is Brazilian, the bartender heard the Brazil part and asked if he was Brazilian.
My man start speaking with her in Brazilian, she seemed a bit nervous but was impressed. Too bad she wasn't anything special.
Props to him!

Actually Rudeboy, we were talking with Roosh about how good it is in Montreal in the summer then you said that it's even better in Quebec City. Roosh asked if they spoke English there and I advised Roosh that if he wants to the get the most bang per effort there, that he should learn as much French as possible. Then you suggested him Ottawa which is also quite nice with a couple of big universities there and a ton of friendly and nice girls there. To which I suggested Roosh that if he were to go there, that he should play either the cool Latino from Barcelona or the cool Brasilian from Rio and I told Roosh that when I go there, I usually tell people I'm Brasilian and they're not able to pick it up and they eat it up. That's when the bar tender asked if I was Brasilian and I started talking to her in Portuguese. She was from a small city near Lisbon in Portugal. Too bad indeed she was a 2-3 at most otherwise, it would have been fun gaming her in Portuguese with Roosh as my wingman. [Image: banana.gif]

Great recaps by all. Compared to the DC meetup, I liked how less people meant we were able to talk a lot more and get in deeper.

Sounds good news if you' d like to do a series of European meetups: small group meetups for example in North, Central, Eastern and Southern Europe.

I'll say that at this point, meeting up with forum members and having them as wingmen does more to help me get laid than the forum itself. Taking the time to wing with members in your local area is very valuable. No one area has that many members that it's such a burden anyway.

I've got a few guys I'm in touch with that I frequently wing with. My chances of getting laid go up with a good wing. Plus there'll be nights where I don't feel like going out, and a wing hits me up and I change my mind completely. Of course, you'll have your preferences as to who to wing with - if someone makes you feel uncomfortable, there's no obligation to chill with them again just because you both belong to the forum. Also, the frequency with which someone posts on here has no connection to how well you'll get along with them.

Toronto meetup recap

Time to share my impressions of the night.

It was brilliant to have the opportunity to get to know like-minded community guys barely a week after landing here on a two-year stint. But for such a big city as Toronto, I was surprised that there weren't more guys involved. Though as we were discussing, those cities with less of a PUA profile are much superior for living and gaming in. This was especially true of Osaka, Japan - 99% of the foreign guys living there were asexual or out-of-towners who'd scrape the filthiest pussy from the dancefloors of foreign bars, leaving the pick of the bunch to us.

My impressions of Roosh were very positive - tall, in shape, good listener, enthusiastic, had his shit together. I could rattle off plenty of reasons why he was high value and good quality to single women, and a worthy mate to guys of all backgrounds. This same guy who perfected a successful system for day and night approach across US and Europe, and he was bombing out in Toronto! And there was no silver bullet we could come up with.

The first part of the night we were just talking about the city etc, and then I decided to do an approach on the bar just to see what would happen, and hopefully flush out some negativity that was beginning to brew about my living situation. So I moved around to these girls who looked around my age drinking wine, greeted them, and asked if the glasses of red were a Shiraz or Cab Sav. I figured my coming from a country where wine is second in quality and prestige to France would put me at an advantage with this line of conversation.

The brunette responded to this positively saying it was a Cab Sav and that she considers herself a wine connoisseur. I said, "so do you know what you're drinking, not the house wine surely?" It was a mild neg but all in fun.
Her blonde friend interjected, "it's the cheapest bottle". So I said, "haha hey don't talk like that, your friend just said she's a connoissuer...."
And her response was surprising!!

Somehow, she took mild umbrage at me silencing her when in actual fact I was just being playful and friendly. It was SO WEIRD and showed a clear lack of social skills and some odd vibe of superiority. But luckily subtle enough for me to play it down and continue.

The brunette ended up talking a bit (both were joining in) and fluffing a lot about food festivals and stuff, she was also asking me a few questions and I was making sure to give the odd arm touch. Roosh later told me he thought I was in at this point. I did too. It seemed normal and genuine.

But then blondie started giving some other weird attitude about her trip to France in the most poorly social skilled way ever (about hating to travel with family even though it was all free)
.
Somehow it poisoned the mind of the other girl and she become less responsive. In a flash, mid conversation (no awkward lull moment), brunette showed her phone to the other one and said some bullshit about whatever text she had received. I watched this for 10 seconds wondering if they'd reopen me but nothing.

So i called them on it! (I did this mainly because we had just been waxing on the "Toronto is filled with bitches" theory and I wanted to delve into that)
I said: "So is this what typical Torontonian girls do when they don't want to talk to guys any more?"
They looked up in mild surprise...
Brunette said, "but I just got this message blah blah"
I just smile/smirked and said, "You wouldn't get away with this where I'm from"
And the blonde goes, "Different city, different rules! Home ground advantage hell yeah!"
WHAT. THE . FUCK? [Image: biggrin.gif]

They're actually proud of their female testes! Brunette didn't make an effort to bring me back onside so I ejected.

I had extreme confidence on this approach because of the low volume of the room, my good company with the guys just prior, the fact that they were 6/10 barely 7 and because the subjects we were discussing were easy to engage with. But the whole time I was tinged by an feeling of them being weird that I couldn't put my finger on. The kinda girls you know deep down you'd never date longer than it took to fuck. But their grossness became very obvious - without ever brutally shutting me down (which is better for more than one reason).

Guys in the meetup told me I'd have no problem speaking a different lingo and being from out of town, but in reality that only gets your foot in the door. I've noticed the haughtiness of girls here more and more over the last few days and maybe it is a good idea to leave.

Yesterday I met some cool guys in the hostel from Montreal. One lives there and commutes here weekly, and the other was a new arrival from Saskatoon. Both painted a vivid picture of it's awesomeness. Employment presents the only hurdle.

I will hit this weekend hard though and see what happens. Make or break Toronto!
