Hottest underground Philly rapper to me is Oschino. He'll never make it big but his mixtapes were legendary back in the day. Every cat can spit hardcore shoot'em up rap, but O mixed it up with an unorthodox style, clever punch lines, life lessons and humor.

Yep. It's even more shocking that Kanye West basically co-signed Chief Keef on the "I Don't Like (Remix)". Just doesn't make sense. I have to condition myself to the other type of music out there. I am trying to listen to more Rick Ross and Meek Mills and the other pop crap but it's difficult since I was raised on better music.

I remember going out raving in Toronto and going to Brant House and I could feel my energy dipping as I heard "I got a feeling whoo ooo cos tonight's gonna be a good night".

The problem with going to clubs with music I like is that it's full of pretentious lizards just out to give hard times (instead of giving my hard on THAT time).
So I'll have energy to approach and be inventive but it's a low ROI.

That being said, I enjoyed the music selection in that film 'I love you man'. I actually have Tom Sawyer by KISS (the Torontonian group) on my mp3 player.

I enjoy Latin music immensely because of the similarities to African rhythm, I guess.

In a lot of ways that's true.

On the other hand, there's a big difference in accepting that to leverage it for the positive and rewarding negative caveman-like behavior (i.e. some young punk trying to stomp a woman's head in).

When you're dealing with a community of like-minded men who look up to each other, there's a real risk that some of the more impressionable ones will start thinking it's somehow okay, or that lighter versions of it are okay. Mental:
A "I wish a nigga would" Mentality is one of the main mentalities they have. You wish someone fucks your day up, you wish someone tries to take you off of your stool. You know why? Because you are able to handle it whenever way possible.

I have to admit that I hadn't laughed so hard in years when I started watching all of the YouTube videos of hoodrats getting knocked out that was triggered by that ratchet getting uppercutted on the bus. I mean tears streaming, rib-cramping laughter.
