If you had to choose Obama or Romney

If you were forced to to choose, who'd it be?

I'd choose Obama.. it isn't going to make any difference politically, but it'd be a good conversation piece for drunk hipster chicks.

In what way? The balls Taibbi has to write such razor-edged journalism is otherwise non-existent in our mediocre, pussified political discourse.

i like taibbi.

he leans left on the whole, but he criticizes the obama administration almost as much as romney. he's awesome.

Gods, of course Obama. I might not like his weakness, indecisiveness and (sometimes) lack of vision, but at least he is not downright evil.

p.s. Rolling Stone's articles are searing and very precise, particularly the one "How GOP became the party of the rich" ( http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/new...h-20111109 ) and Taibi's "The Great American Bubble Machine" ( http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/new...e-20100405 ). I like its politics section a lot better than any left or right-leaning major newspaper.

This is what amazes me, from the article:

Quote:Quote:

Four years ago, the Mitt Romneys of the world nearly destroyed the global economy with their greed, shortsightedness and – most notably – wildly irresponsible use of debt in pursuit of personal profit. The sight was so disgusting that people everywhere were ready to drop an H-bomb on Lower Manhattan and bayonet the survivors. But today that same insane greed ethos, that same belief in the lunatic pursuit of instant borrowed millions – it's dusted itself off, it's had a shave and a shoeshine, and it's back out there running for president.

The Republicans benefit if more people are disillusioned with gov't and fewer people show up to vote.

It was Carl Rove's plan to get it in a dead heat so that there would be a minority percent that would decide the entire election.

This is why they'd rather fight with Obama and prevent anything from happening while he's in office. It makes people lose hope if nothing's getting done. So, people will blame government as a whole, stay home, and the Republicans will win.

So, if you don't go out to vote, you are in effect supporting the Republican party.

Obama, if for no other reason that Romney is the type of syrupy, disingenuous corporate asshole that makes me cringe whenever I think about my time in an office job.

Romney, mainly because I think overall Obama is an underqualified pussy in the world arena and ran our economy further into the ground. At least Romney knows how to run a business.

Whenever Romney talks, it sounds like someone is feeding him lines in the moment through an earpiece as he says them. Kind of like what they were doing on VH1's the pickup artist.

He's not congruent! He's creepy.

They should decide the election by seeing how well these two would do in a cold-approach competition.

I already had this idea. This tells me it's a good one.

Obama/Biden would win that contest. Hands down.

No difference in the two in my eyes except what the republicans would do in the Middle East. I like Obama's hands off approach. Romey would have us knee deep in Syria which would have us knee deep in Iran with Isreal. Who knows what Russia and China would say and Europe would pussy out.

Domestically shit wont change. Shit wont change for another 8-16 years when the baby boomers finally lose power. Hopefully we aren't as greedy and stupid as they are.

The cycle of disrespect can start with just an appetizer.

Right now, I would choose Obama....even if I would get I would get a tax cut from Romney.

BUT.....if Obama wins....

Obama needs to ditch the "Kumbaya" approach with Congress, the House and Senate. Go hard.

More wisdom.

What has Obama accomplished in his life really?

Licking the ass of Marxist professors, affirmative actioning his way into the Ivy League where he gave all his professors the sort of hard on only lefties desperate to help a underprivileged minority can have..lucking his way into a gigunda book contract from the the lefty Manhattan publishing establishment (allowing BO to write about his most favorite subject -- himself).

Doing the community organizing schtick in Chicago (translation: extorting money for the downtrodden), abandoning that when it was clear it was nowheresville...then wending his way into the Chicago radical chic circles of Bill Ayers, Father Pfleger, and Jeremiah Wright...while getting a sweetheart real estate deal from a convicted felon...then losing his only competitive political campaign...then winding up in the Senate of the United States when his first opponent, who was going to make it a race, wound up dropping out because divorce papers "mysteriously" appeared, showing that he had tried to drag his wife (actress Jeri Ryan, Seven on Star Trek Voyager) into swinger circles...

And then...national prominence because, as Joe Biden say, he is "articulate and clean"

Bottom line. No real world experience, a man who has moved through his adult life in a cocoon of liberal horseshit...a man eminently unqualified to run a county mosquitoe abatement board, let alone be the President of the United States

Obama, easy. First president to actually put anything into renewable energy. Plus, after seeing his speech at the RNC-I was more than willing to give Romney a chance to vote for him but after that speech...hell no. Its more of the same old pandering to the baby boomer ideal of American greatness and that Americans should never have to sacrifice anything anymore (plus apparently there was a SEVERE lacking of minorities at the RNC).

Look, I hate how the economy has been going too, and have been looking for work in DC for over 7 months while waiting tables for like 8-10$ an hour (with my BA...yes yes I know)-but I can't stand it how people can think that this country won't have to go through a pain period in order to get over all the terrible politics and shit we've done for the past decade. More so, that in that speech he was talking about how the Republicans and what not have given Obama the chance to do well-when they've been against him from the start and hell even the Majority Whip (I believe, I know McConnell said it) said that they would do all they could to make him a one term president. Thats not even to mention that these f*ckers have had complete control of the house for two years now and keep voting on dumb shit like the contraception crap, and do hearings on the radicalization of Islam in the US. The only active thing they've done towards jobs is that start up bill, and not SHIT else. Not to mention the taxes thing, when taxes on the rich have been the lowest they've ever been in a long time (and I will state that I don't believe the rich should be taxed SOLELY because they have more money/the ability to do it, but again they're being taxed at the lowest rate in a LONG time). Furthermore, the fact that he stated Obama needs to get a stronger backbone to the rest of the world and Iran. Fucking shoot me. Thats the idea the got us into Iraq, and screwed over our image with the rest of the world-which the Obama adminstration has been seeking to resow. Now I dont agree with all of the administrations policies, particularly on their use of drones-but they've done very well as far as foreign policy.

So yeah, I voted for Obama-and while I'm definitely not happy about the way everything has gone in the past four years-I was more than willing and open to give Romney (or a minority party posssssibly) a chance for my vote-but after that RNC speech....hell no. Obama all the way.

Bingo.

Know your enemy and know yourself, find naught in fear for 100 battles. Know yourself but not your enemy, find level of loss and victory. Know thy enemy but not yourself, wallow in defeat every time.
