I've already read the Miami threads and wouldn't mind starting a new one. Is Mixx still gone?

I'm moving from DC to Sobe in a few days. I'm very excited, but the amount of conflicting information I hear is confusing me. I either hear 1) although the women are top notch, the competition is intense or 2) a tall good-looking white guy can shoot latinos in a barrel.

Personally, I've visited Miami and Ft. Laud several times and I honestly feel from multiple fronts DC and especially Arlington has much more competition. And this is not even considering ratios or available hot women.

Anybody make a similar move from the DMV to paradise?

Indeed, the change will probably be pretty intense. Its like two opposite cities the way I see it.

Babelfish, I might take you up on that. Why was he banned? haha. I do have a few contacts down there so I'm not completely in the dark. Still sucks going from knowing 100 people to having 5 acquaintances.

Shoot me a PM when you get down here, maybe we can meet up. The only way to really find out how it is is to come down. There are lots of + and -s.

I made the move from DC to Miami a few years ago. I love it here, but it is definitely not for everybody. I love latin girls and I speak Spanish, so for me it is heaven. Also, your experience will be very different depending on where you live. SOBE is very touristy and European. If you just want to party, it is the place to live. SOBE is like a fairytale world. Brickell is more young professionals. It is pretty relaxed during the week, but blows up on the weekends. If you have a real job, I recommend you live in Brickell. I live here and I absolutely love it. There are also some nice places in Coral Gables by UM. The area around Sunset is really nice. The Design District, just north of Downtown, is also a cool spot. But make sure that you live close to where you are going to work. Commuting is absolutely terrible.

One more thing, come here with an open mind. Miami is like no other place in the world. It’s not Fort Lauderdale, it’s not Tampa, it’s not NYC or DC. It’s just different. Unlike DC, no one gives a shit about where you went to school or what your job title is. The best way I could describe it is that it’s like a third world country mixed with Hollywood and the French Riviera. When you come here, 40% of the people you meet will not speak English. You will see kids driving around in Porsches and Ferraris. There is a huge amount of flash over substance. But it is fun as hell.

Send me a PM if you want some more info.

Cool, yes I'm familiar with Brickell as well. I'm extremely lucky in that I work from home. Its pretty much the best gig ever.

The way I saw it was if I lived in Sobe a car wouldn't even be necessary, so I made the choice to live right in the action. Pretty much everything I need is within a walk or a bike ride. If I want to head to Brickell or anything else in Miami proper it seems easier to grab a cab (I'll probably be drinking anyway).

I figure I'll start learning Spanish once I get there. I LOVE latino girls. I've always had a thing for shiny dark/black hair.

I would start working on Spanish now.

Or you are liable to end up with some "Latino" guys instead of Latinas.

I'm settled in now. Will report back. I definitely agree on what I read before that living here makes you want to kick your own ass and get in shape.

Alright, I've only been here two weeks but it is 100x better than DC.

I'm not going to pretend I'm anywhere on the level of some people here, particularly in the effort category. As an aside the "prerequisite of the player" thread, I definite lack two: I'm not constantly in girl banging mode (hence the constant no-fap attempts) and I'm pretty damn picky. So with that said I've haven't been hitting on girls much at all.

I've really only had one weekend so far to party it up. My friends gf had a friend in town so that hookup was automatic (no bang though) and basically where hanging with them the other weekend. I was at a boat docking party in Ft. Laud and had at least two girls come right up to me and start chatting me up. Both cute.

I'm meeting up with a hot girl who messaged me on OK cupid tomorrow so we'll see where that goes. She's only in town for a week so she's probably just looking for fun. It was kinda a "welcome week" for me, so I wasn't with a wingman on the prowl. Met some cool dudes.

What I can speak for is the general atmosphere of the place. I really love it here. People are much more friendly than in DC, very willing to talk in elevators, say Hi, etc. People working at convenience stores are nicer. I was at a BBQ and everybody was awesome and had all kinds of different backgrounds, very refreshing when you're used to DC.

Just today, on the way to a store one block away I saw three 8-9s in my book. I know this doesn't mean much, but I'll say I'd NEVER see these girls in DC, not over the course of a week even when at bars. Including one in the elevator who smiled and sad "bye" on the way out. She looked like a hot burnette pornstar, with fucking go-go boots.

The pool at my place is like something out of a fairy tale. I've definitely have to get my fitness in check here. I'm pretty lean and not a pencil but I feel great pressure in this area. As far as self-perception, its my only week point, I feel very confident in just about every other aspect of myself.

All of Sobe and my residence has a great party atmosphere. I feel like I'm on vacation every day!

This is travel so I guess this is the best I got for now. Hopefully I'll have a notch tomorrow night.

As for cool bars I liked Monty's. The women weren't fantastic as other places but the vibe was cool. Lots of locals and a band, decent drink prices, and a swimmin pool!

OKStupid is mostly a waste of time, I agree. I just have profile up and get messages. Some are ugly, some are decent, and a few are hot. I respond to the hot ones. Little work required!

I only did it because I was moving to a new location. They might come down soon once a build a bigger social network.

Thanks for the tip. I will check it out!

Does anybody have any info or experiences with boatsharing? Apparently its like $3k a year, and you have it only on select weekends, but its a good amount.

Was thinking about going in with a buddy... would only cost 1.5k. Seems like a steal minus the gas.

If you're talking boat club it sucks and you have to be in at a certain time and reserve the boat in advance blah blah. You need to buy yourself a little flats skiff with a four-stroke motor.

Dolphin makes a good skiff and it's Miami specific

Yeah a used one of these might work.

Thing about actually buying a boat in Miami area is the docking prices. My friend was paying $400 a month for a small boat. I'm sure its cheaper in places like Tampa.

6 to 8 dollars a foot for high and dry here. Find one you can walk too and if it's not full negotiate with them. Don't buy a boat over 18 ft.

I just looked at miami criagslist. Fuck that! You would have to come here to buy a good boat cheap.

El Mechanico, it might be worth it to get a boat in Tampa and tow it down ha.

As for the video, it seems like a hell of a good time, but I'm not sure what it costs to actually have some bikini-clad passengers on my boat. My friend got a great deal for his, fits maybe 20 people (crowded) for 20k. I'm not looking to spend 20K buy any means, but would like room for passengers.

Or fuck it, after a couple years of saving off my real job and making extra percentages on my moolah swing trading, I'll just buy a real one!

Leave the passengers on someone else boat they're more hassle than they're worth. I'm hungry! I got to go in! blah blah you can only bang about two girls at once so three passengers is enough. Trust me on this i've been doing it for 20 years.

Oh and learn how to throw a castnet asap. They may have lessons at the bait store or watch youtube and practice on the grass. Get some skin diving stuff a couple spears and get to it. I don't know if you read some of my posts about banging girls via water have you?
