In Norways biggest newspaper this was hailed as the list for "guys who wants to feel alive". It mentioned an abundance of pretty girls several times. In the official link though, it just says excitement.

Proud to see Melbourne come in number 10 without a trace of any other Aussie city on the list. The whole "World's Most Livable City" title is only applicable for those interested in the traditional marriage-mortgage-kids route though.

ps - How the hell does "superior dining" make life better for guys? I like good food, but I could care less if it's served off the back of a truck or in a fancy restaurant. Superior dining in DC means trendy, overpriced restaurants. I guess it's good for guys cause it's more places that we can take girls on dates.

DC over NYC is absurd. NYC has energy you can feel and is alive at all hours. DC is a ghost town downtown after 6 pm. Who is trying to give DC this undeserved boost? It must be some secret 5's and 6's that want to lure international men here.

DC is the perfect place for borderline attractive girls: lots of powerful men with no game who will give them undeserved attention.

A DC datasheet would be very tricky to write. There's hotties here but it's never consistent. The one bar that has hotties one night can be a total sausagefest the next night.

Gaming here is tough enough but the inconsistency is what wears me down. It's like a cat and mouse game over here.

I have noticed that ever since Obama took office, there have been tons of DC Hype pieces out there.

But here is the question I have for the DC heads that I have never understood:

We all know that DC's economy is one of the best in the country, arguably the best.

People have money there.

So why doesn't this attract hot gold diggers and hot high class escorts to that city?

You would think the city would be teeming with them.

I mean it's not like the guys in DC are swooping massive amounts of fly civilians.

It is the perfect place for it: frustrated guys with money and a atrocious local female population.

DC is the most affluent metropolitan area in the nation by average income, which is 75K a year if I am not mistaken. But the culture here values modesty and frugality. Display of wealth is somewhat frowned upon. You won't see many outrageously expensive cars, well-off people wear clothing from the same store as low-level clerks, etc. It is very low key.

Premium value is put not on the appearance but on the pedigree, title and education. The DC mentality is that of Mark Zuckerberg -- plain jane with medical degree does better than a leggy blonde whose only career prospect is digging for gold.

My take is this. Chicks dig status more than they dig wealth. Whereas there are men who put their heads down and single-mindedly chase paper, women tend to chase a whole lifestyle. Most of the money being made in DC is being made in anonymous office buildings out in suburban Virginia by consultants and contractors. No one knows what they do and they have to keep security clearances, so they can't be running around all conspicuous like first-year i-banking associates on bonus day. There's no flashy DC lifestyle to attract the gold diggers.

The kind of woman attracted to political power tends toward plain Janes. Walk around Capitol Hill and you'll see tons of young 6s and 7s, but that's the cream. When you get to the chicks working for NGOs and think thanks, it goes downhill.

I also think that the chicks who end up as pros didn't necessarily set off down that path. They go to LA or NY looking for some glamorous life and they fall into the sex work when their dreams don't work out and they get seduced by the easy money.

By the way, I've long thought that you could make a dime in DC by convincing girls to do pron or sell themselves for "social change" or some such bullshit concept.

I've done research on escort services in different major Cities. Don't be fooled, DC has one of the largest high-class export industries around. Its a locked down, air tight, industry. Money does not guarantee you a way in like in LA, Vegas, or NYC. If you have cash in those places you can play but in D.C. the game is a lot more tight and controlled. Yes, more than any of you know.

Let me clue you in on a hidden reality of this pool. Many of these so-called elite don’t choose an agency solely on price. Often the decision is based on the human rule of ‘their comfort zone‘. You have no idea how many clients worth millions, love to slum it. Funny thing about paradigms, they are only as good as the information you have. Change your experience and place of observation and sometimes, you change the world as you see it.

Always remember...these lists aren't compiled from a player perspective. They're written more from a tourist perspective. The criteria for what makes the list is also different for almost every city. Some of these are mainstays on these kinds of lists. For others, you can see they made it because there's about to be some kind of huge world event, and the city is changing in anticipation. For others, it's the whole "up and coming" thing that got it on the list.

What I don't really understand is why the "lad mags" like Maxim, Stuff, FHM etc. don't do a real, hardcore, best cities to get pussy-type list. Sure, they're mainstream mags per se, but their demographic is young males that are trying to fuck, and they do have pieces on how to pick up chicks, etc. They also incorporate raunchy comedy, so it all plays to their readership. Many of the cities on this list were already on my "hope to visit" list anyway, not so much because of women, but because of the sights, cuisine, events etc.
