I have been working my ass off the last year and i have achieved saving 50K dollars.
Now i would like to make that amount bigger...

Working my ass off. I'm a systems engineer i work for a company 9-6pm, with on call duties, and also i work online as an IT consultor. I try to save at least 50% of what i earn monthly so after a little bit more than a year i have saved 50k dollars..

I'm curious to find out what other members will say

I'd say start your own business.
Maybe your own consultancy firm or your own business of what you do currently as a systems engineer.

If you have enough experience, consider it.

But for the love of god don't rush into anything! Especially off the advice of people you've never met.

I don't mean to insult your intelligence, you probably know all that, but people can get tunnel vision when they get an idea that they like.

First off, keep in mind that today is tax day if you are in the US. 50k is a good piece of change so make sure everything is ok with the IRS. If all that is fine, here's my suggestions:

Take 10k to your nearest bank and make a wise financial investment. Make it something that can't lose like a CD.

Now, take 5k (again if you live in US) and go to Las Vegas, or an Indian casino in your area. There's always a chance you'll hit a big jackpot, or go on a wild dice run.

With the remaining 35k, just start looking for expensive items that are offered at an extreme discount. Cars, boats, machinery, scrap metal, restaurant equipment (that's huge) or whatever.

Buy low, sell high.

From the 20th to the 1st of the month is the best time, since people gotta pay rent.

Folks think that the only thing to do with money to make money is invest it with some stock broker or trader. There's tons of other things out there.

Again, I don't know if you're in the US, here's another idea. 50k could probably buy you 5 nice trailer homes and get them all set up. Go to the dealer and see if they'll give you a bulk discount. You could rent them out to strippers. You'd be an instant slumlord, and trust me, strippers (as well as most women above a 5) can't pay rent by the first. You can fuck them when they ask for another week. Trust me again, when you go to knock on an above-a-5 girl's door to collect the rent, for some reason she always seems to be wrapped in a towel just getting into the shower.

There you go.

Or you can blow it all on a round the world trip of nearly 3 years like i did. You'll be broke but will have a lifetime of good stories and memories.

Trust me. Get into Internet/Offline Marketing with what you have.
Go into Mobile SMS marketing.
Do something along those lines. Low risk/High Reward

You have to look at the money.

How much is your rent? Add it up and see how much money you lose each year to stay in someone else's property.

Then compare that to how much you'll lose to the bank if you take out a mortgage to get your own place.

That should give you a slightly better perspective.

Also look at the property market, is it good/bad right now? What are the chances of the property you buy making a gain/loss?

Once again, since this is your hard earned money, be very careful with it.

Nobody on earth is gona refuse your money. It's so hard to earn money but so fucking easy to lose it. I always found that kind of funny. Put it this way, if you offered any single person on earth all of that 50k you worked your ass off to get, not a single person would be like "na that's cool bro, you earned it so you deserve it".

Also don't listen to anyone that tells you "low risk/high reward" like that guy above me.
Low risk/high reward is an oxymoron.

There's no such thing as an easy way to make money, if there were, everybody would be doing it.

If you are ready to settle, then you could look into a primary property, but whatever you do don't buy a house just to save money on rent.

well property house is very expensive where i live (south america). Rent is also expensive but right now i can afford to pay the rent and still save quite some money. Mortgage in south america sucks big time. High mortgage interests, to pay for 20 years, in the end with a mortgage, a 80K apartment, could end easily in 160K after 20 years of payments.... sucks

It's ok to be weary with investments, it's your money obviously.
It's not so much a money investment as a time investment.
If you go on an IM forum like BHW and invest money in people's investments you can definitely make some money.

But if you want to go the self-made route then:

You spend a few hundred on necessary tools and you have to learn stuff from ebooks(which I find for free).
Invest money in a VPS.
I guess it's more of a job but there are investments you can make.
One investment:
I stated earlier, you get 100 websites set up for you(no effort on your part), then promote each of them with tools. Or pay someone else to do it.(Spend $50 on SEO for each, and do the rest of the work using your tools.
So that's $2,000(100 websites cost) + $300 in tools + $50*100($5,000)(for SEO services = $7,300
Add in Misc. expenses of $60/month for domain/hosting/VPS/etc. and you'll start to get websites ranked in Google.
Then you get paid from Adsense.
Does it take more time than other investments? I don't know about that. You're spending time buying stuff low.

You can recoup your initial costs in maybe half a year or less. Just do some research on it. Some people make a living on it.
I personally have an offline consulting business and doing solidly right now.
It takes a real drive and passion for this kind of stuff.
You have to be willing to learn, fail, and keep up to date with the current market.

If you get this tool called AMR(Article Marketing robot)(for $97) and get a nice 4,000+ list... then hire someone to write you articles(there are services that do this and quality/cost ratio varies).
I.E. for average cost/average value of a good 500 word article, you usually pay $3 for each article. (so 100 websites would be $300).
Spend like $3,000 on articles.(each website would have then 10 articles on top of beginning 2 articles, so 12 in total), and blast 1 article each few days, and you'll definitely get noticed in Google.

So $10,000 money well spent. You'll learn a lot. I can recommend some good SEO books and resources. I have some saved on my computer

It sounds like you need to put a lot of time into learning how it works though.

I just never really liked the whole online marketing thing, just seems weird to me, no offense. I just prefer the oldschool, simple, sell a physical product/service type business.

I'm only 19 years old by the way, I just get my knowledge from my father who runs a few businesses. I'd prefer not to give out too much information on a public forum. If anyone's interested they can pm me.

Investing in domains and ecommerce businesses will take time, and you may earn more per hour on your current gig than you'd make overseeing that, even with outsourcing. Plus google changes its algorithm often, so there is no guarantee of long term income. You can even lose your revenue stream if it's adsense and they close your account. Making the real ecommece income is a job, not a sideline, and it's hit and miss - you need to hit a lot of opportunities to see what works.

I've learned again and again that it's very easy to underestimate the time it takes to manage projects. I still do it. A major trick in entrepreneurship is knowing what to focus on. So I would not recommend someone who already has a good business focus to invest in an untried income stream that takes education and regular amounts of time. That's not an investment, that's a 2nd job. And preferably that business should be your first and only job, if you do that. Thousands of guys in India work for $2.00 hour on ecommerce projects. If the money was easy, they'd quit and work for themselves.

I'm in a similar situation as you now. I've already invested in my businesses all I need to, and am accumulating too much liquid assets. My next step will be real estate for a farm and perhaps a sailboat for charter and resale. As those are costly, I don't mind accumulating the liquid assets for a while longer. About half of it is in gold.

50 grand will get you a bunch of acres in places like Panama, Brazil, or the Dominican Republic. Used to be you could get a decent condo for 1/2 that in Chiang Mai, but I don't know the market lately. Some big ticket items have very different prices regionally. For instance classic cars sold in Manilla can be a fraction of what they sell for in Belgium, and shipping between the countries is cheap considering the profit. Boats are cheap in Florida and some west coast locations now, relative to Australia and especially to SE Asia. There must be many products with global and regional price differences. I remember an article in the original Whole Earth Catalogue that described hauling gas powered fridges in his pickup up from Virginia to Vermont. The price difference between regions was enough to pay for his expenses, time, and gave plenty of profit left over to live on - better than any wage job available.

But finding such regional price difference opportunities is again a job.

For real passive income that doesn't take expert knowledge and much time finding the magic niche no one else knows about, it might often take more money. I'm thinking owning farmland and letting the serfs farm it, or having rental property.

Yeah but with any investment it takes time and effort to make sure it is something reliable.

Yes there is a risk to everything. With Google's algorithm though, as long as you submit quality articles you'll be fine forever.
If you do blackhat stuff then you risk it. But if you go whitehat you could be good for a while.
I only have a couple adsense sites.

My business is my preference as of now. I consult with clients and offer affordable marketing solutions.
But I may get into more adsense later.
