American society swinging towards extreme Puritanism, biggest change in 100 years

This is so funny to me. America is entering the biggest cultural shift since the 60s, it's fucking obvious as the nose on my face, and nobody in the press is even paying attention. Freakin hilarious.

https://www.bloombergquint.com/businessw...gs.568MAIU

This article is just one of a hundred examples. The pendulum is swinging BIG on this issue.

Women are trying to get revenge for the sexual revolution of the 70s by any means they can. They will finally decide to become ultra-prissy religious nuts.

For those of you who aren't American or who are young guys without much history (read some goddamned history guys!!) -- the US is an extremely religiously freaky society. On a regular basis our people go into extreme born-again-christian mode. And that's happening now, and OH BOY is it going to be a doozy.

Mike Pence is the forerunner of national leaders to come. Abortion will be outlawed in 80% of states. Modern technology will be used to track and enforce ultra-religious social oppression. Sex outside of marriage will be a felony. You will be branded with a virtual red P on your forehead ("pervert") that anybody with VR glasses or contacts can see, so they can refuse to serve you at their restaurant. Women will wear cloaks or veils, and will claim they are happy that way. Mormons will gain enormous new power.

Like The Handmaid's Tale but, of course, it will be RUN by women. Women always control religious oppression.

And what is so funny of all is, everybody will think it's the most natural thing. In 10 years every one of YOU will be born-again sex-hating ultra-religious nuts. Roosh will be celibate. You will claim that was your view all along and that you never enjoyed random hookups with strange girls. When I remind you of this post, you will shake your head and pretend to have not heard.

Guys like me will be in jail.

You're right to an extent, MrLemon, but it is a leftist, feminist, anti-white men puritanism, not a pro-family Christian Puritanism. It is not good news for anyone here, unless you are Muslim.

The thing that strikes me about the emerging zeitgeist is that it is completely anti-joy. That is something it has in common with the old Puritanism. There was a lot wrong with the degeneracy and license of the last 50 years, but at its best it celebrated life, openness, fun and shared experience. "Animal spirits", it used to be called - a natural vitality and vigor. What we have now is a dour anhedonism, with the only benefits (social safety in the herd, status through signaling, welfare handouts) accruing to groups except for white men.

To have any quality of life, you must be in the top 10% of men in the west, or else expat to a more natural and sane place. Be realistic about the first option. It's not actually that easy for many of us, and you may find yourself striving and striving to get there, which is not the same as being there.

I was just imagining Roosh in a dark brown robe, a monk, standing on a hill in Central Park in New York, screaming at the top of his lungs about HELLFIRE while thousands of sluts grovel at his feet.

See, I'm a career counselor too, in addition to my other fine qualities.

I thought I was going to read a post about the new neopurtitan blasphemy trends in America.

Websites getting taken off the internet for calling a fat girl fat, dudes going to jail for dog videos referencing the wrong discussion topics. Roosh’s books being banned from Amazon for trying to teach confidence to men.

But Mike Pence? Hahahahahaha. Even if Mike Pence’s boomer Christianity weren’t in a precipitous freefall decline, he and his voters are pure cuckservatives.

How can you come to this website and not understand cuckservatives? These people don’t want to do anything other than virtue signal. They will let you know over and over again that they think they are more righteous than you, but ignore that and notice that they will never fight for anything and will roll over on everything. They can’t always lose and can’t conserve anything. Even in the past when abortion/sodomy were illegal, these virtue signalling laws were never enforced.

If you care about liberty, you should pray that Pence or his Cucky base are in charge. Not only are they great on economic liberty, but they will not do anything other than virtue signal on everything else.

You`re talking about white America though. But we all know that white America is on the decline. I also belive there is a genetic component to this, as the US was in part settled by the types of people you mention. A lot of them where unwanted in Europe, for this very reason.

BTW; Kevin Macdonald has a lot of good info on the puritan nature of (especially) the US Anglo-Saxon whites.

We will stomp to the top with the wind in our teeth.

America has a very Puritan underbelly and that manifests itself both on the right and the left. No religious person in the Western world is more easily scandalized by human skin like an American religious person just like no feminist is more easily scandalized by human skin than an American feminist. While it's hard to find a more capitalist-friendly country in the world on both sides of the divide, from a social point of view the religious roots of the country are a fertile soil for radicalism on both left and right.

1. That article was published by Bloomberg.
2. Sex hasn’t stopped selling, they’re just selling more degenerate sex that normal people don’t even acknowledge.
3. Burkas on runways have more to do with corporate globalist profits than anything else. It integrates Muslims into increasingly western consumer habits. In addition, how many western women own that Islamic stuff? Damn few. What better way for corporation X to extract more money out of the western consumer than by introducing new trinkets and accessories into a previously untapped market?

Good points. To put it more succinctly:

The right is phobic about breasts while the left is terrified of penises.

I never have thought of putting it in that perspective. That is why you are one of the best posters around here DoBA.

Women are taking the lead on this, and big business is backing them up and giving encouragement where it is needed to keep the women buying.

I am sure my church is not the only one to have seen a drastic increase in young women attending. And I know that right now its good marketing to have hijabs on girls as it raises the Grrrrl power of the athiest and anti Christian women, I don't think the US will ever be a Muslim country. Right now Islam is an odd bedfellow of feminism, and the hijab an even more ironic symbol.

Americas puritanism will be much the same as it always has been. Men and women are already self separating thanks to #metoo and crazy nth wave feminism, so its not a stretch to think that a good portion of women will use the trend to finally be able to take a backseat again and not have to continue on with sleepless nights worrying about spreadsheets and office politics.

Well for one China has been cracking down on porn and baizuo degeneracy, their government is actually looking out for the welfare of their people and the strength of their moral fiber.

Lemon is off, he is mistaking anti-male, anti-family year zero cultural marxist oppression for puritanism. These types of policies foment discord between the sexes and are actually against traditional values, ultimately undermining the family structure, just like the sexual revolution did, whereas the strong conservative social standards that were in place in the 1950s-60s before they were actively subverted provided a strong social foundation for a healthy society.

Well said, sir.

Additionally, where is the puritanism when it comes to gay men? Dudes can have all the butt seks they want and no one gives a damn. This isn't about morality--it's about control and ultimately the destruction of all that is normal and sane.

Well since the XXX rated erotic poetry "Song of Solomon" is in the Bible. This puritanism is definitely a major distortion of healthy Christianity.

Interesting post, this is definitely how the world works, swinging from one extreme to the other. What's interesting is you not liking it and worrying about it.

Wouldn't it be great if after all this fucking we can just get married to 18 year old virgins in our 40s? If what you say actually happens life will honestly be a little too good to be true, like a dream scenario: fuck all you want in your youth in a degenerate culture where women give it up for nothing, then find stability and family in mid life in a puritan culture. We all know the value of women will not recover from old age, but if you're a powerful man than remains in shape the young girls will be yours in a religious society.

Hopefully this happens in 15 to 20 years.

the most ridiculous thing I got out of the original Bloomberg article was the idea of a Muslim "modest fashion" (a Kafkaesque term if I've ever heard one) "model" regaling hundreds of thousands of Instagram followers with thousands of glamour shots (literally) which garner in some cases tens of thousands of likes.

while I would never comport myself as an Islamic scholar, the contradiction of "modesty" and "Instagram influencer" would seem glaring even to the layman.

Definitely true. But you're thinking logically. Don't expect the same from women or female writers.

Muslim activist Linda Sarsour wears a hijab, yet cakes on tons of makeup and lipstick. What is the message there? Modesty up top, but whorish-ness down bottom?

I tried pointing this contradiction out to various women and was met with blank stares. All I got was "But she wears a hijab to be modest and makeup to look nice." Um, OK.
