The Top 100 Nightclubs and Bars 2012

Interesting list:

http://www.nightclub.com/files/ncb/Top10...eb2012.pdf

Las Vegas Dominates.

Miami Beach #2.

LA lags.

San Diego is surprisingly impressive.

The strange thing is how many cities are not represented.

What the hell do people do in those towns?

I could quibble, but overall the list is good.

If a guy landed in a city listed, showed up in one of those clubs, he'd have fun.

Probably wouldn't pull. If you're in SD, going to Stinagee instead of hanging at Firehouse/PB is a huge mistake.

But it'd be fun.

Yeah, the list is really skewed.

Smaller lounges are obviously not going to compare to Mega Clubs.

And some of the places are seasonal as well.

I was kind of surprised that I have been to a good chunk of that list.

Went to school with at least two owners on that list as well.

For the capital of the world, NYC is coming in weak. Sad that Pacha is on top of the city--that place sucks, unless you're in high school or live in New Jersey or something.

Curious to see Kilroys, Bloomington at #39. I've been there, and it's a good time, but it's a straight up college bar. From May to September nobody is there. And on Tues everything is $2; Thursdays $3. How are they pulling those numbers?!

Pacha New York?? That place sucks nowadays. Except the top level which host private parties now and then.

Yeah, I was surprised at NYC, Chi, LA and SF with weak performances on the list.

Great question.

You know the Las Vegas ones are reporting more accurately (corporate oversight) and CA ones (CA police State), I wonder how many of these are making dough under the table.

The categories, ie 15-10mm are pretty vague as well.

Gross cash is only one metric.

I want to know profitability.

I bet some of the smaller NYC ones are more profitable than the Mega Clubs in a place like San Diego.

nice to see a few spots i frequent represented here. i think i posted them in the chicago thread.

excalibur is a shitshow and huge tourist trap. the place was probably dope in the 90's but i was too young to even think about going there at the time.

ive never been to vision as i usually avoid the club scene since its all about losers getting bottle service.

Yeah, we should probably name places that we like.

Or dislike.

I got a call right now, but I will bust out some info when I get done.

What are your guys thoughts on this list?

Which places do you like/dislike?

I actually haven't been to the club itself--but my women and I were enjoying a late dinner at Bortero last night, and heading out after desert, there were 30-50 7's or higher on the way to Tryst, #1 on the list. If that's the scene on a Monday night, I can't imagine it's soft joint.

Which clubs on the list have you been to? For me:

Seacrets (Ocean City)
Love (DC)

Is there one like this out for Europe?

Is this not just a list based on revenue? Hardly the best reflection of quality.

Roosh: I haven't seen a definitive list, here is one for a electronic awards shows nominations. Obviously it will be more focused on the music aspect

44. Best Global Club
Amnesia - Ibiza
Fabric - London
Guvernment - Toronto
Ministry of Sound - London
Pacha - Ibiza
Privilege - Ibiza
Space - Ibiza
Zouk - Singapore

From a biz standpoint it is impressive they were on the list since I have to imagine they do all there biz during 3 months of the year.

Also interesting that it ranked higher than any DC, Philadelphia or Boston nightclubs.

Hmm, isn't this list ranked by revenue? Def not representative of the quality. For Scottsdale, AZ Axis-Radius was top listed but is a dump in my opinion. Does anybody have an US list ranked by quality? Something like what canucktraveller posted, I've been to Ministry of Sound on his list and that was the best club I've ever been to, music-wise, by a large margin...

Ironically I plan to do the same thing this weekend. How was Botero? We are eating there then heading to Tryst.

I went there a few weeks ago, was not as good as its been in the past. Good restaurants don't have off nights.

This is base on financials, not quality of experience.

Though they are correct about:

XS is the best night club in the world in terms of financial and experience.

Tao sucks, even though it is number two - Tao is for older crowd..30-40 crowd......

Other than that, this only list the large mega clubs.......

Seacrets is nothing special - its huge, has a lot of outdoor areas, has the fake Jamaican vibe, and is packed w/Marylanders and Pennsylvanians on vacation, which is a bit redneckish.

Mango's in Miami at 14? Seriously? That place is a cheesy tourist trap.

I've been to a lot of these clubs. The Vegas clubs are pretty accurate, but as far as Miami Beach goes there are a couple that should have made it over others. Amnesia should have definitely made the list over most of the others that represented Miami. Though I do believe that LIV is #1 nightclub in MIA.

Disappointing.

I was looking for places that make Olivia Munn look like a 5.

I'd like to see a top 100 global list instead of just US clubs. I'm really surprised that the biggest city in N. America didn't even show on the radar until #10.

#82, Sharkeez:

And in case you're wondering, no, they don't let women cut the line either.

Ha, there is a "G Lounge" in NYC, ranked 75.
There is also a "Mixx" club in Atlantic City, ranked 89.

How many other forum names are represented?

Seacrets used to be great in 2005-2006, I've taken many girls there. They used to let in 18-21 so you don't even have to spend cash to buy them drinks there (of course, let them sip from yours a bit).
My recipe for pickups there:
- Roll up and down the main drag and pick up summer work-and-travel exchange students from Eastern Europe who work all the hot dog stands and ice cream parlors in Ocean City.
- Offer to take them to the club. An offer they can't refuse, because it will make all their housemates jealous, they work two shifts and never get taken out
- Club closes at 1:30am, take them to 32th St. in your car "to watch the moon over the ocean" - there are some piers there between the houses, and convenient parking in between the condos among some shady trees
- Swoop them in your car

Easy-peasy-lemon-squeazy.
