Coffee Meets Bagel - online dating mobile app that solves a lot of Tinders problems

Oh so this is the texting part then? Guess that means I'm being rejected by yet another online dating mechanism. No reply from this bitch as of yet. BTW this one lives 55 miles away.

It takes a while to hear back. Not everyone has notifications on nor checks the app frequently. Its pretty common.

Coffee Meets Bagel recently implemented a feature whereby you are asked to leave anonymous feedback for a user after liking or passing on their profile.

I have a feeling this feature won't be around for long....

My policy is never to leave feedback for profiles I like. Why give a woman additional validation?

Sometimes a girl is attractive and presents herself well, but just isn't my type. I likewise hit "Skip" when the app asks me for feedback for these.

But when the app tries to match me with some tatted freak or a landwhale? I let the bitch have it.

Three options I often select are "Unattractive," "Body Type" and my favorite, "Can't take seriously." There is a box where you can add additional comments; I've found that one-word, dismissive reactions like "Gross," "Ugly," "Yuck," etc. drive the shiv home best.

Apparently the feedback is forwarded anonymously to the user. I'm not sure how exactly — I've haven't yet received feedback myself.

Would get constant matches for months, then nothing the last couple weeks. Must've been an issue with my pics (maybe they needed to updated and deleted or something). Deactivated account for now, but might come back in the future.

I've noticed a disproportionately high percentage of the women on Coffee Meets Bagel list "Jewish" as their religion. (Perhaps they're attracted to the app's name?) So if you like short, fat women with big noses, this app might be for you!

What is the "woo" feature? Is it their version of a super like? and WTF is "poo" lol

I often wonder if any of these spinoffs are actually any better than Tinder.

Filters seems to make it possible, but it seems you can pretty much find anyone on Tinder, and everyone is looking for everything.

That said, nothing does substitute for real life approaching, and girls mostly aren't as hot on the apps, but as you get older it is REAL hard to carve out that much time in bars and otherwise for fatties who think they are 7s and they are max 4-5s.

With less traditional women, it's almost a pre-requisite these days to be on these shit show apps.

The day they had the "poo" feature, I was gonna "poo" every profile shown to me just to be an asshole, but decided against it because what if CMB figured that into their algorithm of who they matched me with?

Bummed they didn't keep that feature.

Somebody should create the Banana Meets Bagel app. Here's the icon:

Do these apps realize your preferences? For example, I'm in medicine but the last thing I'd ever want to do is be with a female MD ... yet they actually think (probably because it was created by women) I give a flying F about being with an educated woman

Unless she were smoking hot and realized she made a mistake ... and her Dad already paid for medical school.

Female dating app developers seem pathologically opposed to creating products which have user experiences that would ensure the slightest possibIity of making real money.

Either they don't understand their market (women), or they don't care. Or both.

This app sounds like Once which also runs on the premise that you get one match per day. I've had no results from it yet though.

XP, I'm an optimist but am I right in that the only real hope is precisely the 20-25 (maybe 26) year old market? A girl on an app that's near 30 or older is either not very good looking, overweight, or both. Or as you and others just pointed out, possibly nuts.

I know going out downtown in a big city that there are women of these ages who are very good looking, but it seems extremely difficult to get any number of those who you can even approach (these are not online so it almost becomes a waste of time trying to find where they are)

Again, the high volume low quality conundrum, just hoping that the youngin's are the ones using apps and willing, able to buck the near 30 demographic stupidity

Apparently the creators said that this app empowers women even more. They turned down 30 million dollars from Mark Cuban.

I'd use this dating application if, and only if, there was zero chance of meeting a woman who is anything like the three founders.

Interesting thing I found on here. My bagels were shit so I switched my preferences to select all races *except* white. Now I never get bagels, but when I get on the app at lunchtime, they say that they can't find one for me, so they let me pick from about 10 potential matches. It's an interesting twist. I haven't had any matches yet, but even before I was matching maybe 1 in 10, and I'm not stuck rejecting the 3 days of bad choices before I get someone worth looking at.

The one good thing about CMB is that you get only one a day so there's no chance of wasting time with it.

Kid Twist: Nah, there's lays to be had in the 26-36 demographic as well. I'm pushing 40, so I have a real hard time cracking into the "under 25" demographic without manipulating my stated age, which I don't want to do. I think the youngest I ever went successfully was 25; I've made and been on online dates with girls younger than that, but they all either flaked or I couldn't close.

For attempting to pull way outside my age bracket I've decided it would probably be more productive to work on finding good day and night locations, where I can leverage the fact that most people would guess I'm no older than 30 and can deflect the age questions better. I've never pulled from night game, (at least not in recent history, i feel sorry that young guys dont know how fucking easy it was pre social media, you could make the most horrific "mistakes" and still get laid) but I've been close enough to pulling it off that Im fairly confident it will happen if I keep putting in effort when I have spare time on the weekends.

The best looking and most DTF girl I ever met was 29. Both the the FWBs I've had over the past couple months were late 20s early 30s. The first girl I ever banged from online dating was 35. Oldest I've gone was 38.

There's quality to be had (at least in the Northeast), they arent all serial daters, but you have to screen hard in that demo and it's still a lottery, you'll definitely end up on a decent amount of go nowhere dates with serial daters no matter what you do. AFAIK you just have to take the risks and put in the work if you want it; for me right now I'd rather meet up with older girls who are more likely to show up and take a shot in person, hoping to flip a few of these serial dater's minds with my game, then endlessly be flaked on by girls in their early 20s.

I don't really know that there's any hack to to put it on easy mode like it might once have been, or run around the risk of lost time. You just have to suck it up and go to work.

That's totally interesting. These bagels are garbage and as I've said elsewhere, if you have a good career it actually works against you --- as if I want professional women --- but looking at those berkeley nerds above, I get why they do it

Are your 10 "potentials" of any ethnicity, though, RockHard? Just wondering

I've never actually tried this app. Does it scrape your social media accounts? I hate that shit; I don't want to mix my online game pics with my FB pics. I've been avoiding Tinder and Bumble for the same reason. How do you get around it..just make a burner account?

Yes. CMB isn't worth it, Bumble then Tinder are worlds better than all the rest ("Better" is in airquotes)

They're anything except white, which is what I selected. Maybe the app is 90% white girls? I don't know how their matching system works.

XPQ - you can upload photos off your phone too, you don't have to use Facebook accounts.

But I agree, the app is shit. I spend 2 minutes a day with it picking a potential match and never look at it otherwise. Really, that's how I treat them all. I spend 10 minutes on my lunchbreak swiping and never look at them again unless I get a message.

Online is needle in a haystack. Numbers go down even further when you get over age 26 ... decent looking girls are there, but probability is just extremely low making timing even more imperative

CMB is total crap, I'm wondering what I should put as my career in my next ghost just to see what happens (matching with MDs makes me throw up in my mouth almost every time)

I’ve stuck it out on this app, but they added a game changer today: video. They ask a question and we make a five second video answering it. It doesn’t cost anything yet and is still new and a way to get a lot of matches in a hurry and having a short video taken the same day is a good way to weed out fatties thatput up old photos.

The video option makes this app stick out, for now at least(pof lets you send audio messages to other users but this is the first app to incorporate video).

All of these apps are generally shitty with shitty ratios but there are plenty of hot girls on the apps. Day game is better but this app requires little time. Just like 2 minutes per day

Started trolling with the new video feature today. My vid has gotten about 100 views in only a few minutes.

Great way to stand out, convey your personality and filter out SIFs. Hopefully they don't ruin/monetize this feature.

Made a silly video and got 50 views in a minute.

The games changed with this. A lot of potential to stand out.

Plus for people with crappy pics like me, it will show that I'm not that ugly [Image: sad.gif]

I feel like this will be ruined sooner than later. But as of now it's a pretty raw service, no filters it seems (got people from different states and ages showing up).

I'm getting notifications that people watched the video (over 500) and liked me, but the app doesn't show any new matches.
