What did you guys take away from "The Art of Not Giving a Fuck?"
I haven't read any of his books, but this recommendation from Swell grabbed my attention.

So far in 2017...
The Foundation Series by Isaac Asimov!!! Galactic chess on a gigantic timeline done really, really well. I read it about 3 times and listened to the full-cast recording on libravox on repeat for the entirety of February, March and April.
Second favorite: Brave New World.
It evoked some really cool imagery and, while dull as toast in a few parts, had some killer parallels to the globalist endgame concepts today. I now question whether my women are pneumatic enough. I read it twice.
I also re-read/did the grown-up read of the Martian Chronicles by C.S. Lewis which goes through some gorgeous metaphysics and manly principles.

Cobra and I did some awesome podcasts with awesome fellow members.

Steve Jobs - by Walter Isaacson
Incredibly motivational book about a man who was incredibly focused, creative, entrepreneurial, and had a passion to change the world.
As I was making progress through the book, it really motivated me in creating something new, in chasing my passion rather than money, and ultimately made me realize that death is all upon us and life is limited - so we might as well do what we love

The year is still young but I really enjoyed The Creative Habit by Twyla Tharp... If you do creative work I highly recommend it!

in my experience the 'benefits of reading' are probably overrated.
I agree that reading in itself is mostly overrated and is often little more than another form of entertainment. It has some positive effects (enriches one's vocabulary) just like video games have the minor positive effect of shortening reaction time.
That being said, when looking for ways to improve one's life, reading carefully chosen books and generally consuming the right media plays very important role.
