Help me decide where to go Next

Thanks again for everyone helping me decide to go to Cartagena. Sick trip.

I have been back in CA for about 3 weeks and I am going completely stir crazy. American nightlife and girls are simply not moving me anymore. In fact, I have 3 free tickets for America, and can't even get motivated to go anywhere in the us.

So I need to figure out somewhere to go either end of April or May. (And I will stay way from any sharp objects in the meanwhile.)

Here are the contenders:

Barcelona - I had planned this on my "master plan" for May. I have been before, and at one point lived there 10 months. I love this spot and need to hit it up again.

San Sebastian - Been here too. Need to hit up again.

Other Spanish cities? Anyone have any I "can't miss"? Galicia? Southern Spain?

Here is the monkey wrench:

I really can't get Colombia out of my thoughts. I could hit up:

Baranquilla - Met a girl in Cartagena that lives there so I could hit it up pretty heavy.

Medellin - Met two brothers that live there and they want me to roll down to show me what up. How is the weather there in late April/ May?

Open to other suggestions. Criteria as always: fly girls, strong nightlife, smoking a plus, Spanish speaking on this one (no Brazil). Not quite feeling the need for Cordoba yet either (although its high on the list).

I really need to get focused on somewhere otherwise I have found that I am all over the place.

Give me some feed back, fire away.

If you get rid of the Spanish requirement, Beirut. I'm serious. Anyone that's been raves about it. And how many people do you know can say they kicked it in Beirut? Never been but it's high up on my list. Hot women, great nightlife, good food, beaches, skiing, ancient sights to see and I think most people understand English, French and Arabic. Can't go wrong really, so long as Israel doesn't launch any raids in the next few months.

Btw, did you post a trip write up for Columbia?

Panama City. Very international and world class. Going thru a big economic boom. Plus lots of Colombianas.

Thanks for the quick responses.

dlmelvin86 - Yeah, I have been to Panama already, not Panama city.

speakeasy - Beruit sounds interesting.

Here is my Cartagena breakdown:

http://www.rooshvforum.network/thread-1833.h...=cartagena

chrisss - I know Baja CA better than most people on earth. Had a crib there for three years, and scoured every inch. Guadalajara is on my list but I am waiting for one of my lagging friends who has friend that throw up high rises there. I would rather go when I have the hook up locked in.

EndGame - that's two for Panama city. Have either of you been?

Any cities in Spain I need to hit up? I know Spain pretty well, but only Barcelona (and surrounding beaches), San Sebastian (and surrounding beaches), Alicante and Valencia

I've heard Beirut as well.

How about the Aegean Coast in Turkey, and Turkey in General (Istanbul)?

That trip would be a great way to mix it up somewhere with a completely new but vibrant culture. You have the Mediterranean style beach life (maybe minus the topless women), a huge new world-class city, and Eurasian culture. The crossroads of the east and west.

Lots and lots of smoking.

Hot women.

Haven't been there myself, but I have acquaintances who have taught ESL there a while and love it.

If the native women are anything like Persian women, who frequent there for vacation, you can't lose. In either case, I've heard that there are a lot of non-native euro women there as well.

G,

I spent a few days in Granada, Spain and had a great time. It's small, but yet felt quite large at the same time, if that makes sense. The city is beautiful (gotta check out the Alhambra...it may give you some design tips for your future mansion). There aren't a huge number of nightlife options, but what's there is enough for a few days. A thriving tapas bar scene and a couple good clubs (Mae West is the one to not miss). And even better is you get free tapas when you buy a drink! I can't remember if that was also the case in Barcelona, but I don't think so. Granada is a big college town so there's plenty of young Spanish tail to chase.

As I said, there's probably only enough to keep you occupied for a few days. You'd likely want to couple this with perhaps 4 or 5 days in Sevilla. I haven't been there so I can't vouch for that city, but I've heard nothing but good things about it.

Best of luck in your decision process,

-LS

Any cities in Spain I need to hit up?

I was at Rota for about a year. My apartment was a little north of there in Chipiona, which is basically Sanlucar.

Have You thought about hitting that side?

On the weekends I would usually go up to Huelva, or across the water to Cadiz, if I didn't cruise in Sanlucar.

Between Cadiz and Punta Umbria there are some spots you really can surf. Some beaches are empty some are crowded. Of course not Mazatlan, but something that sounds a lot like it, was the best one, wave wise. You gotta watch it and read signs though. Every so often I found some seriously dirty water.

I don't know the names of any of them, but all over that whole area there's great hotels and restaurants.

Then there's Seville. I keep reading on here about the girls in this Cordoba place. Well Seville is my Cordoba. Seville was about a 2 hour drive inland from Rota, and a little quicker from Sanlucar. I'm serious just the average waitress was one of these gorgeous flamenco types. Girls everywhere. The bars and restaurants are all super old, and i don't want to sound gay, but it's just really romantic. The chicks would just smile at me. I loved it. At the bars they all want to dance with you.

The second best thing about the girls there that I'll never forget was how quiet they were. Not they they didn't talk, but when the did it was really low. I used to drive to Seville from my apartment to pick a girl up that never talked above a whisper. This girl, and lots of others, will lean in real close to your ear when they want to say something. She would stay with me for the weekend and I'd drive her back on Sunday.

That's 8 total hours of drive time just to get laid. There are very few girls in this world I'd tolerate that for, but that's how hot this chick was, and there were thousands more just like her. A few years down the road I was on a Spanish hospital ship, and maybe 20 of the nurses were from Seville. First off, they were all beautiful, and they all talked the same way, getting really close and whispering in my ear, it was great. And these were Navy chicks.

Check that side out.

Aloha!

Nacirema - you do make a strong case for Cali. I think I am going to Medellin or Baranquilla first. Cali is on the list.

toddh - I have been to Portugal before, never Lisbon. I didn't like where I went in Portugal incredibly much.

hydrogonian - good tip on Beruit again.

lilseezie - Granada sounds dope, I really like the idea of Sevilla.

OGNorCal707 - I do like the sound of Croatia also.

Kona - now we are talking. Isn't Rota a naval spot? I have never been on that side and it does sound appealing. But Sevilla is a place I have always wanted to hit up. I am really leaning towards a Barcelona/Sevilla move now.

How is the nightlife in Cadiz? I am guessing that nightlife in Sevilla is pretty sick?

Luckystar - Been to Valencia. Topless girls in summer. Went there when I was 16. Had an epiphany.

Keep the suggestions going. Especially more Spanish towns.

Anyone with Malaga data?

Cartagena (spain)?

Galicia?

Santander?

Asturias?

Why not spend a few weeks in Ibiza? Rent a villa and chill out by day, hit up the clubs at night.

speakeasy - Its funny you say that, I recently met a girl that lives there when I was in Beverly Hills, so I would have a good hook up. From what I know, Ibiza gets rolling more heavy in July/Aug/Sept. Anyone have the data sheets on this?

Also, the CA to Spain to Ibiza trip is a hell of a trip, travel time wise.

"toddh - I have been to Portugal before, never Lisbon. I didn't like where I went in Portugal incredibly much."

I will bust a thread about Lisbon soon.

"hydrogonian - good tip on Beruit again."

One of my best friends is Portuguese-lebanese. Here´s Beirut is:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EP50u2Dqz...re=related

"lilseezie - Granada sounds dope, I really like the idea of Sevilla."

Seville is really an amazing city, one of my favourites. They´ve been doing some reconstructions, but it´s finally over. My father proposed to my mother in Seville. You can check the judiaria, cathedral, etc, etc. I´ve always been in Sevilla with my family, not going out that much more waking up early for sightseing.
There was a time we used to go there 2 or 3 times per year.

A bullfighter has to pass by Madrid, Sevilla and Ciudad de Mexico to be respected. I´m not a big fan of bullfights, but don´t condamn them. The best I was was in Madrid.

Really an amazing city. Highly recommend it.

My oldest brother studied in Seville during 2 years, he failed every class during his two years.

After Czech girls, spanish are my favourites. They are extremely feminine, but when they get angry, they get angry, you don´t wanna be less than a mile from them.
Don´t go in the summer (July, August). Temperatures rises to 48 degrees.
Kona you would go crazy with the Seviile Feria, when all girls dress some traditional tight outfits, hot, de puta madre:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/rastaswebb/...486217695/

The Sevilla Feria happens in end of April. I´m not generally a fan of big events, but this one is worth it. The only problem is entering the ferial party stands. If you don´t seem like a local they will not let you in. It´s normally off limits to foreigners.

Another good time to go would be Easter. But more religious.

No need to say this to you G, but dressing sharp is a plus in Seville.

Granada is also good, smaller, more hippie, there´s the Alhambra, and if you go till the end of April I think you can still hit Sierra Nevada for some skiing. I remenber one time the tracks due to bad weather were closed and we went to the beach cause it´s only like 60 or 70 kms. From the highest point in Sierra Nevada, you can see the beach.

Tapas, canas, fiesta, siesta. like in Sevilla It´s all there. Damm I really miss living in Spain. In Granada and Sevilla you can see real Flamenco.
Personally I´m not a big fan of spanish cuisine, but Paellas and Tapas are always on the menu.
On time I stayed in a Cueva.
You also have some arab baths good to relax after one day skiing.
There´s a story about how Bill Clinton (one of the few politicians I admire) said that Granada from all the places he had seen on his youth was the one who marked him the most.http://www.spainview.com/granada.html

There´s one saying from Garcia lorca I once read about Granada:
"Dale lismona mujer
que no hay en la vida nada
como la pena
de ser ciego en Granada"

"OGNorCal707 - I do like the sound of Croatia also."

Croatia is still relatively unknown, not being a menber of EU. So it´s still not comercial. I´ve been there two years ago, it could have changed. I think you can go any time of the year, but end of June, july and August are better.

"How is the nightlife in Cadiz? I am guessing that nightlife in Sevilla is pretty sick?"

Been to Cadiz. I didn´t like that much the city. Hear the carnival is a good time. I was there to catch a ferry to morroco though.
Yep nighlife in Seville is great. There used to have Botellons in the streets but the prohibited. All over spain there was one day were all the young people went protesting for the right to drink on the street.

"Luckystar - Been to Valencia. Topless girls in summer. Went there when I was 16. Had an epiphany."

http://www.rooshvforum.network/thread-941.ht...t=valencia

"Keep the suggestions going. Especially more Spanish towns.

Anyone with Malaga data?"

Been there some while ago. Enjoyed it, but I can´t really give you a report on it. When I was in Madrid the debate about urbanistic coruption in Malaga was huge.

"Cartagena (spain)?"
Nop

"Galicia?"
If you ask any portuguese and probably spanish about Galicia the first thing they will say you is that it has good fish. Picasso lived in Corunha and hated it. I think if you´re into nature it´s nice. I believe there´s a famous and beautiful path in galicia, can´t remender the name now. Santiago de Compostela is supposed to be great sighseing.

"Santander?"
Nop
"Asturias?"

Nop

"Others spanish cities:"

Salamanca: It´s a big university town so party is guaranteed.

Cáceres: Some people told me it also has some great party scene.

Marbella: Playground of rich and famous. Also suposedly a gateway for the entering of drugs from north africa, so it´s full of drug barons. Been there for one night. Nice, but since it´s also a summer city, end of June, July and August are the best time to go there.

Cordoba (Spain): From what I remenber doesn´t differ much from Marbella or Malaga, but it´s been a while since I´ve been there.

El Rocio: Nice for an afternoonr visit. Horse riding etc. Might be boring for a guy rolling solo.

Gibraltar: An english territory in Spain. Sounds strange, but in spanish territory there´s a place where only english is spoken, to get in and get out you need to show your passport. It pissed off Aznar, although spanish do the same with morrocans. Also known for it´s offshores.

Toledo: Near Madrid, used to be Spain capital.

One final note: The proportion of hot Milf´s in Spain beats all the countries I´ve been to.

uff long post...

well the main thing we look to do in costa rica is chill at the beach / surf. but we plan to spend a few nights partying in san jose & jaco beach. wouldnt mind checking out some nice nature stuff nearby if it was inexpensive.

then we plan to just party and try to bang chicks in panama city but also hit up the beach during the day. also if there is some cool nature spots nearby that are inexpensive we could hit those up.

Have you thought about Morocco? Cool place, nice beaches, friendly people, cheap cost of living and nice and very welcoming local women. French skills would be highly helpful there.

You're talking about the April Carnival, or something like that aren't you? The girls wear the long dresses with the stuff at the bottom?

If so I went to it twice. I don't get to into big carnivals myself either, but that is probably one of the best in the world.

Rota, where I worked is a big naval base, but it's not really US it's mostly Spanish. I went to the carnival with some guys I worked with that were from Spain, and didn't have trouble at all getting into any of the tents or the temporary buildings at all.

I liked Cadiz. No waves but clean beaches. The Carnival as Pepini mentioned is good, but nothing like the one in Saville. Cadiz has some seriously old buildings. It's cool to be a t a beach bar that's 1000 years old.

The brothers also mentioned taking a ferry to Morocco. I did that a few times and it's worth it. Tangier is kind of wacky, but its worth checking out.

G, the Seville April Carnival is amazing. You should get moving.

Been to Morocco, it's an extremely interesting place and the women are pretty fine, but it is way more conservative Muslim culture, so gaming would probably be pretty tough (although maybe you're up for a challenge). Also Moroccans are probably the most sheisty people in the world, I've even met a lot of Moroccan Americans that admit this, someone will inevitably go to great lengths to try to hustle you out some flow.
