Brazil has been the center of leftist propaganda from the west and as a result has become something of a western country similar to the US. The last time I went to Fortaleza was in 2007. However, from what I have been hearing, Brazil as a whole is declining fast and is only 10-15 years behind the US when it comes to social degeneracy and collapse of the family structure? I have not been back to Brazil in almost 10 years. Is this information true? If it is, please give a detailed description of the reality on ground in mid tier cities there.
Is Fortaleza and Florianapolos worth it 2016

Just go 3rd tier...Manaus, Belem, Salvador, Sao Luis, Cuiaba, Goiania and if you speak decent portuguese you will have a great time.
I got almost no matches on Tinder in Sao Paulo, so I know to avoid the bigger more westernized cities.
Fortaleza is ok...just too many fatties. And you must speak Portuguese or they will think you are a sex tourist.
To avoid misspelling Florianopolis (not Florianapolos), just call it Floripa, like locals do.
In any case, women you'll see in Summer (January and even more notable in February...) in Floripa, will look nothing like women from Fortaleza, and probably not even be Brazilians (think Argentinian tourists here).

I lived in Florianopolis for 18 months, so take this with a grain of sand.
Floripa has upper-class and better off women than the rest of the country. They come from high-class families, European blood, and are well educated. It's not easy to get play in Floripa. Clubs are expensive and you will be pushed to spend lots. Competition is fierce, as men here are aggressive and the same educated/ well off class. That being said, the women are crazy sexy. The island is crazy beautiful.
Fortaleza has lower-class and less-educated population with women that come from traditionally African and native blood. Fortaleza has crazy beautiful beaches and its much cheaper than Floripa. Two of my main homies in Floripa had spent 8 months in Fortaleza and they had this to say in comparison to Fortaleza, "In Fortaleza, we had an apartment 2 blocks from the beach. All we'd do is scoop women on the beach and try to get lunch or get em back to our pad (which was fat). We were light skinned so that mixed with being beach bodied, gringoes with advanced portugues made it stupid easy. We both had a revolving door of dark skinned favela hunnies (skin-dids). However, the quality of women here in Floripa dominates Fortaleza. The skill it takes to get laid is dramatically higher, but the prize is worth it."
Go 3rd tier and stay there for max benefits. I spent a week in Bonito and Aquiduauna in MS and it was outrageous. I had a buddy who was a wealthy heir to a cattle farm and we just went dancing Forro and Sertanejo. By the time I left I had celebrity status in the 30k person town.

Florianopolis. You're welcome:

I didn't realize Tinder matches were the only indicator of how well one can do in a city....

There's two breeds of women in Floripa
1) Party Scene Gals - They tend to be friendlier in off peak seasons (any period outside of Mid-Dec till late Feb). Bitch shields can be crazy at peak seasons. However, they get a lot of attention & have been exposed to it all from big time locals to all sorts of tourists in Floripa. They tend to live in a big fish little pond type of mentality.
Meet these gals outside of peak season like say on a holiday weekend..and they can be friendly in a way that will lead to table invites for free drinks, good convos, etc.
2) Non-Party Scene Gals - Goes without saying..these girls are even friendlier. Floripa is known for having friendly locals. While the party scene gals might not fit that bill al the time, these girls definitely do. Naturally laidback & friendly people.
One of the strategies one can pull off is..well wait..can you drive stick shift? I recommend everybody learn how to drive stick shift before really wanting to get the most out of Floripa.
Back to the strategy...a good one would be to live in Curitiba..and spend every odd weekend driving to Floripa. Rent cars at the Curitiba airport (they even have automatic transmissions too) and drive it to Santa Catarina state now & then. Rental cars and cars to purchase in Curitiba are cheaper than the rest of the nation as most of the automotive manufacturing takes place there.
Even people from Rio and São Paulo states like to buy cars in Curitiba & then drive it back to their states. So renting a car in Curitiba is going to be a lot cheaper than say in Santa Catarina state. Living in a cosmopolitan city with more than 3 million like Curitiba with great lifestyle options & abundance of women while enjoying Floripa every other odd weekend guarantees you are not going to be hearing crickets daily in Santa Catarina for 90 days+ straight..just saying.
Also, you can take cheap buses to Floripa from different cities..but once you get there..taxis will fucking kill going from point to point as buses are very slow/inefficient.

There's two categories of 3rd tier cities
1) College town - Gotta be careful in places like these. I spent some time in Ouro Preto and Londrina..and can tell you..the most desirable girls and even mediocre ones have MANY male orbiters with good game. Lot of girls and guys hang out in mixed packs so being able to isolate is hard. In a tier 2 city, many girls will go out alone..if they have a guy friend..it'll be like one guy friend to every 2-4 girls. That is not the case in Ouro Preto and Londrina where university mixed cliques are very strong. People in these mixed cliques can be very friendly though.
2) Non-College Towns - Pretty much what you described above. With right social circles & reliable contact, your chances will be better than a college town scenario.

Fortaleza is probably the most white or mixed city in the Northeast of Brazil..
I came back to see my 19 yr old girl and she is from a small town in Ceara, so she is as marvelous as one can expect. White, traditional and with a big ass.
What makes Fortaleza not a long term city to live in..... is the amount of chubby women and that women have it ingrained that foreigners come here just for fast sex with prostitutes. Thank you Italianos. Ruined a good city again.

Haven't been a lot in nordeste, which cities there you think are good? I have read some time ago you were raving about Joao Pessoa, but it seems a very small town, what about Natal and Salvador?

Okay,
So where is a beach city that has a high African Latino population?

If you want Africanos go to Salvador, Bahia. It's their hub of Black culture. I went in 2002 or so but I imagine it hasn't changed so much. Outside the tourists area you will definitely need Portugese.
You really can't compare Floripa and Fortaleza, two totally different places and subcultures. I'm no expert on Fortaleza and have never been there, but I lived in Floripa for almost a year. I would say, if you are looking to find a city in Brazil where you can get laid a lot in a really short period of time, definitely go with Fortaleza over Floripa. In fact, I would make the argument that any other major city in the Brazil would be easier than Floripa.
- Floripa is a place you go if you are planning on living in a city in Brazil where you can stay for a long period of time (more than 6 months). You can live an amazing lifestyle in Floripa that is very versatile with a ton of day time and night activities. In my experience, contrary to popular belief, the people on the Island are a little pretentious and arrogant and they think their shit doesn't stink because they are from Florianopolis. This attitude finds it's way to the local women also, but there will also be a lot of sweethearts so don't let this deter you. It's really expensive compared to the rest of Brazil, but really safe with the amenities of a big city. If you go there for a short trip, don't make it all about women because you will probably leave a little disappointed. Overall, in Floripa, learning the language and making a solid social circle with the locals is necessary to kill it with women.
Oh, and girls from Floripa on average are the hottest girls in the country, potentially the entire continent.
I'm gonna make a detailed data sheet on Floripa soon.

If you really like nature & variety of beaches so much, then yeah Floripa is a good place to be for a long period. I'm about a 3 hour drive/4.5 hour bus ride from Floripa in a city with more business connections, academic resources, and a population of 3+ million in my metro area including...higher quantity of high quality gals (guess which one...).
Floripa IMO is a good place for weekends, but I'd go crazy listening to the sound of crickets without having access to higher frequencies of human interaction in a sprawled out metro region with only 700K people.
(Yes, I'm kind of a big city snot)

It's however arguable you can find that same pretentiousness from say..Rio de Janeiro as well because of how some residents grew up in "Zona Sul." Much like Rio, you can find very friendly people in Floripa too. 5 Categories of Women in Floripa
1) Party Scene Gals, 2) Non Party Scene Gals - (See my post above)
3) Transplants from Santa Catarina - These are girls currently going to school, doing a masters, working, or all of the above from another part of the state outside of Floripa. They like to go out & party too, but in general are much more open-minded. Overall gals that are grateful to be working in Floripa as I'd consider them good girlfriend material
4) Santa Catarina Girls Partying on Weekends - These are girls that live outside of Floripa, but come into town on say a Saturday/Sunday in Jurerê to party. These are the targets you want to go after if the objective is a ONS.
5) Transplants from Other Big Brazilian Cities Outside of Santa Catarina - These are girls that left the adversity of the big city as they opted for Floripa mainly to enjoy nature & a slower pace of life. These girls I typically do not find that attractive however...perhaps a bit socially awkward too. Maybe they left the superficial peer pressure of the big city because they could not handle things there lol.
Regarding which categories are most interested in meeting foreigners, I'd say the winners are categories 3) and 4).
Category 4 is the most DTF with foreigners.
Category 3 is a good candidate that you can meet in nightlife venues, but they lean towards the relationship side as it takes persistence to nail them. Category 3 also tends to go home to see family every other weekend as a small handful (not all) have boyfriends in their birth city at times.
Category 2 can be open to foreigners, but it'd have to be a foreigner who is fluent in Portuguese & very well integrated into Brazilian society.
Based on my 4 visits to Floripa while keeping in touch with quite a few gals there, I've banged from Category 2.
Category 4 I had a really good chance to bang, but I effed that up being entrenched with a Category 1 girl one night.
Category 3 is probably one of the homeliest long-term relationship breeds though lack of time in Floripa not to mention the other female options in my city(ies) have prevented me from fully succeeding there.
(No point in spending 1000-1500 reais every other weekend vacationing in Floripa when I'm satisfied with my overall life in home base)

Hmm interesting and valid points. Maybe I have been brainwashed by the locals of Florianopolis to believe that they have the hottest girls or something haha. If what you're saying is true, I definitely need to see more of Brazil.
While I was in Brazil I traveled to Rio, Sao Paulo, Curitiba, Salvador, and some other small cities in SC. I never went to Porto Alegre or BH, but I have heard great things.
While I am certain there exists quality girls in the cities that you mentioned, I think the fuss about Floripa is that on average the girls are hot; meaning per capita. In those other cities I visited, I noticed hot girls but I had to dig a little bit deeper; there was a lot of filler. In Floripa, I would walk around UFSC's campus (the university there) or the beaches, and I was stunned at how common beauty was.
Yes, all of the girls might not have necessarily been 10's, but they were hot enough. Maybe I just have a soft spot for the 'look' of the local girls in Floripa and as a result of this I'm biased.
And while I agree that there exists elite and pretentious crowds in the major cities such as Rio or Sao Paulo, I think Floripa is worse in this regard because due to the size of the city you can't escape it. For example, in Rio, there are many different 'scenes' that you can involve yourself in with a full spectrum of income classes, whereas in Floripa it is more standardized.

In Brazil, it is all about whether you are looking for the darker girls or the white ones. I would not go to Brazil or Colombia to look for the whiter ones, though they come your way now and then. I am perfectly fine with the 18 to 23 yr. old mixed girls or pardas, as they say here.
My 19 yr. old girl from Fortaleza turned out to be marvelous, traditional and sexy at the same time. Probably will have a kid with her in 4 years when she graduates from university and if she doesn't become westernized. She has to practice her Spanish so she can live n Colombia too. No English for her though and I paid for a 3 month gym membership so that her bunda will stay fine. We will see what happens, but if you can find a white educated young lady in Brazil with humble roots, you have a good chance of having a happy middle age.

Good points..but if you go to the Rodoviaria (bus station) or walk around Centro in Floripa, you can find the "fillers" as that aspect of city life exists in just about every metropolitan area in Brazil or rather the world as well.
There are many things I like about Santa Catarina in general too. I however think the "fuss" about the state (not just Floripa) is this:
It arguably packs the best combination of
A) Attractive women whom take care of their looks in higher quantities
B) High quality beaches (Bombinas, Floripa ones, Brava in Itajaí, Praia do Rosa, etc)
Whereas:
Goiânia/Belo Horizonte - Located in landlocked states
Curitiba/Porto Alegre - Located in states with shitty beaches
Those two things are very much pedestalized by Brazilians in just about every region..so when people talk about how much they want to live in Floripa or Santa Catarina...well..that's what they mean.
A) With regards to Brazilian cultural values, attractive women at the beach creates a much more desired illusion for the country's population opposed to the....
B) Roosh V Forum mindset of..attractive women wearing heels in a cosmopolitan neighborhood that is densely constructed possessing high quantities of interaction with aforementioned hotties where frequency & logistics lean towards being more advantageous, lol.
(Count me in as Category B by the way..)

This is a good point.
Another point of emphasis from my experiences (that is not countering your analysis btw) is..the elites in Tier 1 Sampa or Rio de Janeiro seem to really isolate themselves from the rest of the population whereas elites in Tier 2/3 places like a Curitiba, Belo Horizonte, Foz do Iguaçu, or even Floripa have many close friendships with people in social classes below theirs.
What's the best place for a light skinned latino?

Game is the difference between a broke average looking dude in a 2nd tier city turning bad bitch feminists into maids and fucktoys and a well to do lawyer with 50x the dough taking 3 dates to bang broads in philly.
I second Rustler's question. I'm a light skinned Latino in my late 20s/early 30s (I'm almost white like an american/european guy and I have black hair and very dark brown eyes) interested in traveling to Brazil and I wanna know to avoid losing my time.
My portuguese is very basic (I'm still studying the language) and I consider it more like Portunhol
(A mixture between Portuguese and Spanish)

Statement 1 - You don't pro-actively seek lighter skin Latin American women....

Statement 2 - But you value them the most at the same time?
And out of curiosity, would your kids learn any English as well? How is that going to work out?

Exactly... I don't proactively seek "young" white chicks when I am in Brazil or Colombia. They tend to be way more difficult and think higher of themselves, than they should.
My bread and butter is the 18 to 23 year old more latin looking morena. Also, I tend to get more attention from older white chicks (28 to 34) and that ain't my thing.
Though in the end I do really like young white looking chicks, and if you hunt enough you are bound to slay a few on every trip.
As far as a kid, I would teach him English, Spanish and Portuguese if I am with my Brazilian girl, in a few years. If I change my mind for a Russian chick, I would just substitute Russian for Portuguese.

As for myself..I go after the hottest possible chick with the best body. My logistics & responsibilities were not always conducive towards just spending a whole afternoon on a college campus when traveling/living in Brazil.
If I were to classify my success rate, I'd say the younger under 24 gals were good for me in Rio Grande do Sul. Girls older than that tend to give some small shit tests about them wanting to feel courted though I never had enough time for in such short trips.
São Paulo university chicks tend to have some potential, though such short trips never gave me the time as well. Santa Catarina girls are pretty good in the younger to older age range. Curitiba is a tough place for younger girls under 25, but the older ones are much easier.

Learning English would obviously be important if you needed your offspring to manage your businesses/properties in the US or Latam...if not be able to expand operations as well.
The best opportunities go to people that know how to operate most effectively in the upper spheres of influences. This is applicable to all societies...but even moreso in developing economies as well.
I personally know quite a few people like this whether in Asia or Latin America..as many of these families send their kids abroad to improve their English only to come back and marry off in another well-connected influence from home. Therefore greater knowledge for your family doesn't necessarily mean "automatic corruption from the west" if you know how to play your cards right.

For having a child though, a white Brazilian girl is optimal, at least for me because with my latino features with a European mix....the child would turn out pretty good looking. The girl or boy would probably turn out Mediterranean looking and that is a good thing. I'm probably 70 percent Spanish blood and 30 percent South American Indian.
