How would you have handled this situation?

Later in the day, the homeless guy fucked his girlfriend while the guy looked on saying "c'mon man. Please stop."

Homeless are an absolute menace. They should be euthanized.

I'm on the side of the kid, though he was too soft about it the homeless guy is a fucktard that seems to just be randomly abusing them.. that is proven by him abusing the other guy later in the video.

Saying that, the kid made so many mistakes that could have got him hurt. But the homeless guy was mostly trying to intimidate not really committed to hurting him. Staying sitting down when he was in his face is one and letting him continually enter his space. He may not have needed to be struck as he wasn't a huge threat but atleast put down hard or something as a warning so he knows not to fuck with you. Instead he knew he had a victim in that kid so kept going. If he had have got hurt a little he wouldn't have kept going.

Also the initial reaction of 'oooh ooh dont do that to my girlfriend' and the look on his face made me laugh. I can't even explain it but you'll see in the video. Its when the homeless guy first comes close when hes sitting down. And the whole 'back off from my girlfriend' seemed weird like he just had to keep stating it so people knew for sure 'yep that's his girlfriend' haha

The guy with the sign is obviously mentally ill if it's not some prank. You just ignore and get up and walk away. You don't engage mentally ill people.

Doing some half assed shit trying to be tough and then getting bitch slapped around in public by the crazy man is way worse.

You could always haul off and stomp the shit out of crazy man but that's not good with so many witnesses around. It's simply not worth it, maintain composure and just walk away or give crazy man some candy, change, or beer and leave.

This kind of reminds me of downtown L.A. late at night. Once when walking to my car some crazy fucker ran up to me with a gas can and insisted I fill his tank up. I thought he was about to try and rob me but he obviously didn't even have a car based on his nasty clothes and the spaced out eyes.

I just said sure and threw some change on the ground and walked away quick while he stooped to pick it up. No point in standing around having a senatorial debate with someone who is obviously mentally dicked up.

I'm not advocating some kind of kumbaya bullshit, but saying homeless people should be euthanized? Just throw that fucker some change and move.

Better to just leave, there are far too many risks. Who knows what diseases he has? Dude might have an AIDS covered needle in his pocket for all I know. In a sane society, that homeless trash would be driven from the park with a bullwhip for harassing people but that's not the world we live in.

So I would be fine to just make fun of him and leave... right up until the crazy bum got physical. Then I'd give him a token beating until he gave up. I never would have stayed seated like the kid did, but if the bum came at me like he did at about 0:50 that would've been plenty for me to give him a few good shots and leave him on the ground.

There are a bunch of videos of this Signs asshole harassing people. He gets his ass kicked in a few; he obviously can't actually fight at all, he's just crazy. I think he must be somewhat careful of who he targets or he'd be in the ground. Dude's been pulling this shit for 10 years; I'd think he would pick the wrong person to harass one time and get cracked in the head with a brick or cut up or something if not outright shot. Maybe it's just NYC dorks tolerating his BS because they're "proud" of the freakshow they keep around them.

When the shoving starts I'd pull his sweater over his head. If I'm still calm and collected I grab my girl's hand and leave, if I'm mad I start slugging him in the solar plexus and/or the liver.

I have very mixed feelings about the homeless as there are a number of them near where I live.

Some I would gladly hand $100 if they ever asked for it.

Some I would not give a shit about if they dropped dead.

Most I really don't know well enough to tell the difference, for better or for worse.

Guys like this...scum. Historically they didn't really survive. Now we're too PC to put down a suffering animal and let rabid dogs feast on society.

Agree with weambulance. If I'm with my girl there's no fucking way I ruin the mood by messing with a deranged.

Furthermore, I'm averse to anything dirty and smelly. If I even see him walking toward me I would just get up and leave. There's no way I'm touching that shit and stains my hands in the process.

There are plenty of times to be a tough guy but this is not it. Dont wanna get skin disease and or leprosy.

I guess the best reaction is to stay calm and leave...but that's not what I'd have done.
In these situations, I become very stupid and let my blood talk, whatever stupid the consequences are.

From my point of view, this guy has Zero combat training and was afraid.
He should really correct this.
I've been in his shoes, afraid and unable to defend myself, and felt like crap years after...maybe this incident will motivate him to learn self defense.

Anyway, so many mistakes made by the tall guy:
- let his guard down, even hands inside his pockets, while the other could have sucker punched him at any moment.
- let the other dude be on top of him, at a few inches from his face, maintaining a dominant attitude towards him.
- looking away and at his feet, while the other dude was becoming more aggressive : he wouldn't even have seen the punch coming.
- pretend he was going to escalate, by unzipping his top (are you serious mate?) : either you punch him or you leave; did he see this let's-go-topless-action in movies?
- spit on the dude...at best a female move.
- let the other person hit him, without any physical response : as soon as the other guy's fist touched him, he should have taught him a lesson.

Most of those crazy people do this stuff because nobody stop them. Look at the situation, all people try to look away, ignore it, hope it will fade away. You feel the awkwardness. But nobody stands up and do something in most cases. In former times crazy social misbehaviour would end with a beating. But now nobody does anything. We gave up all power to the system but the system don't help in such situations. We are so trained by the system about "normal" behaviour that everything beside that, is something we can not deal with any longer.

I've had something somewhat similar happen before when I was with my ex-girlfriend. We were at the beach in Santa Cruz around 2006, sitting on a bench together and eating ice cream.

This guy walks up, he looks a little raggedy and maybe homeless, but it's difficult to tell since after all, this is Santa Cruz. My ex and I had a few small packets for sun block on the bench and he asked us if he could have one, I said for sure and gave him one since we had extras. He asked for another one so I said sure again. No skin off my back. I could tell he was a little off though.

He starts to get a little bit closer to us on the bench so I tense up a bit, although he was still standing it was making me a bit uncomfortable. He starts bitching about something, I honestly forgot what it was even and I believe after, he asked for money but his tone was becoming aggressive. We weren't carrying much money on us, so I told him we could give him a bag of chips if he's hungry but that's about it.

He starts getting more aggressive so I stand up, he gets a little closer, then he started to back down a little bit. But then he starts trying to talk to my girl and telling her how pretty she is, how her eyes are beautiful and he is going to take her out sometime- while leaning in a bit. I definitely felt threatened and I could see she was really scared.

The fight or flight response kicked in here, so I got in his face and was about to swing but my ex grabbed my right arm and told me we should really go and kept begging me. So we left.

Maybe it was because I was young, but even back then, if my male friends were getting into something with someone else I would usually try to diffuse the situation and get us the fuck outta there. But whenever it comes to the women in my life, the rationality does take a bit of a backseat and I think instincts kick in.

I don't think I'm a badass by any means, I've been in a few fights, lost some and won some but I've seen people get the living shit beat out of them, or some ridiculous over the top retaliation, so I do try to avoid fights if possible. I still do to this day, especially when I realize I have a lot more to lose than the other guy.

Donnie Does Dallas finally downloaded and I was able to watch the bum fight video, it was lame. The video OP posted I skimmed through twice and never saw any slaps just some spitting. But the beta guy in that video acted super gay when he was trying to look tough and unzipped his hoody. I had multiple reasons for leaving the US but being surrounded by nancy boy men was one. Not that these Asian dudes are any more "macho" but I can frame that as being in a different culture. It's not as bad when its not in my back yard. This next generation is pussy as it gets.... between videos like this, stories about college campuses and their "safe spaces" and "triggering"... these kids are not ready for the real world.

Haven't watched the video yet but had a tough guybum come up to me at a Mc Cafe here in Kiev a few weeks back.

He spoke some English and stood over me in my space trying to intimidate me. He asked me where I was from and I told him Antarctica, he asked what I was doing in Kiev and I told him that I live here, etc. I don't remember his name but when he stuck his hand between my face and my book to introduce himself I just smiled and grabbed his hand, crushing it as I shook it.
After that it was just a simple "Nice to meet you" before he turned around and walked out.

Everyone was watching and exhaled when he left. Good times

There's no shame in walking away from a situation with a crazy person. There's been situation where I've stood my ground the best I could because I had no choice, but generally I avoid conflict as I have nothing to prove.

But to try to walk the line between a tough guy and a beta just makes you look like a bitch.

Don't start taking off your jacket like you're ready to fight unless you're planning to follow through with it.

It was a fight or flight response. I know some of you guys know what it feels like if you played contact sports or did some MA.

I agree with everyone mentioning caution here, last thing you need is a bum with a knife. But the ability to strike hard and fast can also overwhelm an opponent, ending an altercation before it truly begins.

This thread made me realize that possibly the best thing I did in the second half of my 20s was starting martial arts training. I used to be a magnet for this kind of people (there is many of them in my city) and situations, I handled them more or less in a good way whitout physical violence but this kind of stuff brings down the morale because no confident and sucessful guy is caught in the middle of stuff like this. Now, watching this, I see that last time was many years ago. I am far from big or ripped, but the way a guy carries himself and the confidence he exhales must be a repelent for crazy people.

Have too much to lose, definitely more so than that guy. Walk away. A fighter doesn't have to fight ever fight, or even win every fight, but he definitely has to pick his battles.

Homeless and mentally ill or not, dude swung on a random and innocent person for no reason. Complete detriment to society.

If the dude was harassing me and my girl I would just ignore and walk away.
