I plan on being here for 1-2 months.

My first impressions of Latvia

Here are the two best threads on Latvia so far:

The G Manifesto's Riga, Latvia Data Sheets

How much English & Italian thirsty hordes have screwed RIGA, Latvia?

I'll give my first impressions next week, then you can ask questions and what not.

Roosh you must not really be bothered much by SAD (seasonal affect disorder), I couldn't stand being in a place with extremely short and dark days, plus freezing cold temperatures.

Intrigued to hear your experience, thinking of a winter trip up through the Baltics myself soon. I hear Estonia is the best, but who knows.

Welcome to the northern latitudes! The winter will certainly be a challenge though I think visiting at the opposite time of all horny tourists will increase your credibility with the foxes.

Great choose Roosh. I wait for your report to see if things are really screwed for us in Riga or not.

Have fun in Latvia Roosh!
Although if I were to choose a European country now, I'd go to a place with a mellow climate like Portugal, Spain, or Italy for the winter. Then come April, the Northern countries are wide open.

1-2 months is way too long for Latvia I see some side trips to Estonia and Lithuania in your near future.

I went to all 3 countries two months ago.

Of the 3 places, I preferred Lithuania.

I presume you are in Riga. Check out Cafe Cuba. Thats a good place to bring a girl.

Kiwi Bar is good if you are in the mood for an expat sports bar. Same owner as Frank's hostel which is the best hostel in town.

But in 2 months you will probalby get through every single bar and club on this list at some point :

Less Italian tourists relentlessly horndogging everything in a skirt.

Also less retarded Irish and British stags parties which plague the other two. It was outside of marriage season (spring and summer) when I was there so I did not see that many of them there to be fair but there were still some.

Not knowing any Russian or Latvian I bet Roosh will fail miserably in Riga and have to resort to banging fatties [Image: smile.gif]

English is more common in the Baltics than in the rest of Eastern Europe.

As a Latvian I can say that multiculturalism here is pretty big. Latvians/Russians - Engishgood/Englishbad -Prowest/Antiwest. It could be that early success depends on finding ones own niche fast.

Winter is not the best time to come here trough for me my dick in winter always goes small from all the cold and wishes to hibernate all winter in comfy warm LTR. Not the best time for agressive pickup. But if I could meet Roosh I would gladly hit the scene to learn something from him by obsevation.

Roosh you are not afraid to meet a fan at person aren't you? We are probably just a few blocks away now anyway so it would be a waste not to.

Getting by on English in Riga is no problem, everyone <30 speaks it. Outside of Riga is a different story.

I went there last year for around 10 days over new year's. It's not as cold as you would assume. Most people speak English especially when you go out and want to practice it.

It's important though to have a few leads where to go in Riga. The club culture changes very fast though. During the summer DACHA was the hippest club this year, where you could meet a lot of girls.

But Latvian girls require a lot of time, as most of you probably know. It"s worth it though. I banged one of the bartenders of the Push Club for a while... it was some work though getting there.

Winters in Latvia have been very different last years. Sometimes snow over car rooftops sometimes almost no snow. Sometimes very cold your nose hurts and sometimes warm you can walk with an unzipped anorak.

Never know how this winter will be. I wonder if this is natural or some artificial phenomena like global heating or whatever that weather changes so much.

I have a good friend out there, he owns a few radio stations and used to own the top night club(mostly because he promoted it on his radio stations [Image: smile.gif] ) anyway, he took me to a few of the really top end clubs. 2 of them were not going to let me in. He had to talk to them, the really good clubs wont let in foreigners. I was dressed nice too.

Here is a funny story he told me yesterday about Russian/Latvian girls.

Ianis

Yesterday clr
lol thats crazy, did he buy it?

YesterdayIanis
next morning shee starts to become desperately- when we are going to that pice of fur? sergey ses- sorry my dear, wee won't.... but what a wondrfull pasionate night wee had...!

When I asked him if now was a good time to go he said....

Ianis
now it is gonna bee a bit chilly, though everybody is in town, then Christmas hollyday, etec...in spring it is warmer and more hormmons in the air, make up your mind....

Third tier city in Latvia will be a village!

I've gone out 2 nights now... getting a decent picture of the place. It's not what I expected at all. I should have a good round up on Sunday.

Good point Roosh although Daugavpils (only 2nd tier city in Latvia) has a decent population with a large student demographic and only a couple hour bus ride from Riga. Would love to hear a field report about it.

Also, too bad you are visiting Riga at this time of the year as you'll be missing summer street "sights":
