Newsflash: Men Prefer Feminine Women, Not "Funny' Women

Today in the Atlantic:

The women’s use of humor, meanwhile, didn’t make the men want to date them more—it actually made them slightly less alluring. That’s right: The men found the pretty, unfunny women more desirable than equally pretty ones who also happened to be funny.

I've said this often around here - women don't want a girlfriend, they want a boyfriend. That's why your masculinity is important when it comes to picking up women. While women love to hang out with their male bestie who shops with them, watches Desperate Housewives, and reads Perez Hilton, that isn't exactly a solid mating strategy. Engaging in female behavior makes a man less attractive to females.

On the flip side, the same holds true for us - men do not want a boyfriend. We want a girlfriend. While a girl who burps, farts, and plays Playstation might be fun to hang out with, it does not make her dating material. She's "one of the guys". Engaging in male behavior makes a woman less attractive to males.

These 'funny women' are disappointed that their mating strategy is contrary to our genetic profiles.

"Men Prefer Feminine Women, Not "Funny' Women"

It's hard to actually know that for a fact, though, because scientists are still searching for a woman who is funny.

The 'ol wow just wow line from this bland article (the author tries to be funny. She's not).

Anyway, she wrote:

Still, it’s depressing that for many women who aren’t professional comedians, the most valuable social currency is beauty—or worse, “being sweet.”

Unbelievable. Do they really think being friendly and nice is that awful?

Don't forget women who watch sports. Female sports fans are even more obnoxious and pick more fights over games than their male counterparts (despite the larger number of male sports fans vs. female sports fans). They tend to be less feminine in other aspects of life too, from the way they dress, their weight, their attitudes, etc. When I am at the bar watching the game the women there watching are always either in sweatpants or old jeans wearing beat up tennis shoes screaming at the TV. They think sticking up for a bunch of millionaires who don't care about them is attractive to their male friends but it just makes them more repulsive.

Maybe one of her orbiters ignored her in favor of a more feminine girl. Don't read too much into this.

Not on here much anymore. I'm either out on 2 wheels or trying to kill something.

Yes.

They're women.

The most common female complaint of their existence is one of having to be what society 'expects' you to be.

Strip away the evasive language, and this is what they're really saying:

"It's so hard to be good!"

This belief that it's difficult to not misbehave is a core component of the female mindset, and, I suspect is why religions limit female behaviour so harshly.

Of course, women are the strictest moral shamers and self-righteous moralists imaginable: this is simply projection.

This is why offering misbehaviour is such a successful game tactic. Women long to be led astray.

Women are a joke...

We will stand tall in the sunshine
With the truth upon our side
And if we have to go alone
We'll go alone with pride

For us, these conflicts can be resolved by appeal to the deeply ingrained higher principle embodied in the law, that individuals have the right (within defined limits) to choose how to live. But this Western notion of individualism and tolerance is by no means a conception in all cultures. - Theodore Dalrymple

Men prefer "feminine" women?
No shit, Sherlock.

It bothers me greatly to live in a time and culture where being feminine is not considered the essence of being a woman, the natural, normal behaviour of the human female, which thus doesn´t need to be mentioned explicitly as a character trait, but instead became an unusual and peculiar behaviour that therefore needs to be added as an adjective before the word "woman", as it is not included in its definition anymore.

Words shape the way we think, and the way we think determines how we act and behave.

The word "woman" got separated from the word "feminine"; it is now possible to be one without also being the other.
What was literally unthinkable in previous generations has now become reality.

We need to keep a close eye on people trying to change our language and the way it develops.
They might have an agenda.

Depends on what they define as funny. A girl telling jokes or being a wiseass, no. But I get bored very quickly with girls with no or little sense of humour (of course that probably relates mostly to her ability to find me funny, rather than her own attempts at humour) and the ability to just relax and not take everything too damn seriously.

You know, if a girl is actually funny, that's a benefit.

I have known a total of one legitimately hilarious woman in my life.

The rest were situationally funny at best and most weren't very funny at all.

Check out my occasionally updated travel thread - The Wroclaw Gambit II: Dzięki Bogu - as I prepare to emigrate to Poland.

Maybe next they'll fund a ground breaking study to determine whether or not water is wet.

Nothing shrinks my dick more than a chick who thinks and acts like "one of the guys" or tries to be some slick talking witty banterer.

I like a girl with a good sense of humor. Mind you, I define a girl with a good sense of humor as one who gets my jokes and thinks I'm funny.

Take care of those titties for me.

Also, many women think sarcasm is humor.

It's not.

Sarcasm is a crutch used by the humorless.

I hate to have to do this (and I'm sure God will punish me for it), but there is possibly -- possibly -- something that will cause you far more shrinkage than that. It's called the "Full Beauty Photo Project" and it's comprised of "artful" naked photos of morbidly obese women.

This has probably been mentioned on the forum, but I'm bringing it up again just to show how screwed up we are as a society.

Anyway, if there was ever a time to a trigger warning, this is it. Please think carefully about whether you want to look at this link, because it's difficult to shake the images from your brain once you've seen them.

On the plus side, if you need inspiration not to overindulge this Thanksgiving, these pics will do it.

^I won't click the link because I already know what that is, but thats full-on dick implosion. Hideous women make my manhood go Caitlyn Jenner. I don't even put ugly women on any kind of a totem of attractiveness.

I'll tell ya though it really grinds my nuts when I see a beautiful girl with a grating personality - or a girl who is sweet as pie and would be absolutely gorgeous to boot if she lost like 30 lbs.

This is something I learned by jokingly telling an engaged girl that I wanted to impregnate her and trick the guy into raising it. I'm not the smoothest dude by any means, but the way she lit up when I said that cued me into this lesson that I've never forgotten since about the female desire for bad behavior. It manifests itself in many ways, such as the glee they can have when they're gossiping (i.e. shit talking).

And on the whole "being nice" thing, they're not nice to you unless they think you deserve it. For them it's tied to respect. And respect is how they perceive your status relative to others. Not to get too evo-psych on people, but there are several primate species where the females actively encourage the bigger, stronger males to fight the lesser males, even when unprovoked (we refer to this in the human world as "bullying").

Civilize the mind but make savage the body.

Pay attention to the next wannabe comedienne you meet in real life, her "sarcasm" is actually just thinly disguised cynicism and narcissism.

They try to get people to think these traits are adorable and hilarious but really it's because they have ugly personalities and are emotionally fucked up.

Plus most of the "goofy funny and quirky" girls i've met in real life were in fact hardcore CC riders.

The only time I ever find women consistently funny is on skit comedy shows like Mad Tv or Living Color(where they tend to operate with men). Besides that, female standup or regular chicks trying to be humorous extremely rarely ever make me laugh, and the few times the latter has made me laugh were with situational/spur of the moment quips like you've said.
