The level of talent is generally quite disappointing.
Yes, for something called Miss World I would have expected more.

Miss Brazil has a real exotic look, kind of looks like some Japanese has been mixed in there:
This is Miss Kazakhstan?
Was not expecting that look there.
Miss Brazil is half Korean, which is interesting because Miss Korea grew up in Brazil too.
There´s still quite a few Russians left in Kazakhstan.
After looking at all the pics, reading the biographies and Q&A, here are my picks:
Miss Monglia: Anu Shamshir
Another picture:

In her spare time Anu likes to ride horses, she enjoys Mongolian folk dancing, drawing and writing poems. When it comes to food, nothing beats her mother’s cooking; healthy, nutritious and protein rich Mongolian cuisine.
Saving the honor of Asian girls in this competition.
Based on looks, she has to be the winner. Also likes protein.
By the way, her competition for Miss Mongolia:

Miss Latvia: Lāsma Zemene
Quote:Quote:
Lāsma is a police officer, residing in Riga. Growing up in the town of Jelgava, she moved to the capital where she is currently enrolled in a Law degree, with aspirations of pursuing a career as a professional lawyer. Her current career in law enforcement has given her an interest in keeping fit, regularly going running, she enjoys training in fighting and self defence sports, and she also helps train dogs. Lāsma enjoys all kinds of music, finding something she likes in every genre, and sushi is her favourite cuisine.
Seems like a cool gal.
Miss Iceland: Arna Ýr JÓNSDÓTTIR
Quote:Quote:
Arna says she can always be found with a big smile on her face, and always looks on the bright side of life. An international athlete, she is part of the Icelandic track & field team, pole vaulting for Iceland for the past 5 years after progressing from gymnastics. Currently at college, she plans on studying Nursing at university before pursuing a career in midwifery. She also loves to paint, and sells her paintings online via her Facebook page. Arna is also a big lover of animals, and currently cares for a cat she rescued from the street and a puppy. Arna’s favourite food is her grandmothers and she says her Icelandic meat soup is the best.
Athlete, fitness freak, dream job is highly feminine and caring, thinks makeup is unnecessary, compassionate with cooking skills.
That´s the kind of girl I´d make lots of children with.
Miss Kyrgyzstan: Tattybubu Samidin Kyzy
Looks pretty even when wearing a potato sack. No further questions.
Miss Colombia: María Alejandra López
Favorite website is TED.com, studies Industrial Engineering and wants to start her own business producing low cost medicine, would have dinner with and is impressed by the Pope (a lot better than Angelina Jolie or Michelle Obama, the choices of most other girls), knows all abilities of Professor X (of X-Men fame), loves dancing, animals and being outdoors in nature. Apparently into Spirituality and Religion.
Of course I could be wrong, but seems like a solid, sweet girl.
Miss Myanmar: Khin Yadanar Thein Myint
Quote:Quote:
Khin Yadanar Thein was born and raised in Mandalay, a city in central Myanmar and a cultural and economical hub. Studying German at Mandalay University and receiving a diploma in Tourism Management, Khin Yadanar works as a tour guide in her city, but has aspirations of a career in travel journalism, which would combine all her passions; travel, photography and learning about the world. In her spare time, she likes to swim, to hike and to practice Shan martial arts. Her favourite music genres are rock and pop, and Myanma Author Ju is her all time favourite.
Studied German (

), favorite writer is Burmese, favorite website too, would have dinner with another Burmese writer, favorite fashion designer is Burmese, feels most comfortable in traditional clothing. Of all the girls in the competition she´s the only one not mentioning a foreigner in any of those categories, or at all.
Doesn´t seem cosmopolitan or globalized, but traditional and down to earth. Big plus in my opinion
Quality is not that high, but standing out as most disappointing, from what I can remember:
Korea (Looks like every other Miss Korea, Korean Model, actress, singer, etc. It´s getting boring.)
Sweden (What the fuck Sweden?)
Ethiopia (You gotta be kidding me, this from the country with the hottest girls in Africa?)
Japan (She´s just not pretty.)
Thailand (Should stop trying to look like a white girl.)
Nigeria (Similar reason to Ethiopia.)
Malaysia (That hapa girl is basically Australian.)
