Supermarket Situation

So I've got sort of an interesting situation developing at the local supermarket where I do my shopping.

The past few days I've been having lunch in the cafe there, and today I noticed there was a cute young employee sitting around on break fiddling with her iPhone. We glanced at each other and she smiled at me, which I took as an indication to approach - I asked if I could sit down and eat lunch with her and she readily agreed. She looked maybe 21 or 22, darker skinned but not really dark, with a slight accent that I had a little trouble placing. Puerto Rican or Dominican maybe. We chatted a little bit over our food about how smartphones can be annoying, and annoying people texting us and bothering us and so on.

She has a "boyfriend", that much is clear. I tried to make a mental note of how many times during our conversation she mentioned "My boyfriend..." this or "My boyfriend does..." that. It was literally nine or ten times during a fifteen minute conversation. But she'd say things that indicated she was also rather bored with the situation, like "Oh, yeah. I was in the city with him the other day. There wasn't much to do, it was sorta lame. <eyeroll>"

I didn't feel comfortable moving forward any more today as she said that today her "boyfriend" was coming to pick her up, but she told me the shifts that she'd be working this week.

So basically the situation is I'd like to bounce this cutie to my place after she's done work sometime and fuck her. [Image: idea.gif] Suggestions on how to proceed?

I wouldn't want the other employees to see her leaving with me, so maybe what I'll do is near the end of her shift ask if she wants to meet me to grab a coffee at the place down the street.

Invite her over for a drink. Who cares if her co workers see her leave with you?

I think what he said makes some sense but more along the lines of her not wanting the coworkers seeing them leave together. Wouldn't want word to get back to the boyfriend.

Did you get her number OP?

Exactly my thought about it getting back. I try to be a little sensitive to other's needs in this life...[Image: angel.gif]

Sort of the nice thing about trying to game a store employee is that it's a captive audience - she told me her hours and she kind of HAS to be there. [Image: smile.gif]

I didn't feel comfortable pushing for the number today, because I think I have to be sort of careful about how I play this one. But the cute shop girl + boyfriend situation is probably an enormously common one (there are actually two other women I've flirted with on and off during the summer who are the EXACT same deal) so I think it will be an interesting research project to try and figure out a system.

I noticed that there was a picture of her and some dude on the lock screen of her phone, so it's likely there is at last one guy in the picture who she believes to be her "boyfriend" and it's not just some tactic. I know girls are good at casually slipping the boyfriend/husband into conversation with male strangers for various reasons, but she brought him up so many fucking times in our chat that it was almost as if she was trying to convince herself not to run off with me!

Anyway, I thought it was unlikely she'd give the number because she wouldn't want me sending a bunch of texts when her and her dude are Netflixing or something. That was the reason I was thinking to just try a more direct and immediate approach - I don't drink, but ask her right as she's getting off work if she wants to go grab coffee nearby, and then from there pitch going...elsewhere.

But again, I think I need to play it carefully. If there were no boyfriend/other nosy employees in the picture I'd probably just ask her to jump in my car to take a nice ride and go, not give her the opportunity to flake, and make her shoot me down directly if that's what she's gonna do. I don't think I have that option here, and I need to be more discreet and find an opening to ask her to meet after work someplace nearby where I pitch the setup. Problem is, I think that gives her too long to mull it over and it makes a flake pretty much guaranteed.

Perhaps she was DTF today only after we had lunch and this was all just an indirect one-time offer. Well, we'll see. I don't think rushing over there immediately tomorrow and pitching it will work. If I go shopping tomorrow and see her, I'm just going to ignore her. Get the hamster spinning.

A girl has no boyfriend until she uses it as an objection to cockblock you.

Anyway, she's no different. Proceed as usual, invite her, ignore the boyfriend.

Understood. But I'm just mulling over the best way to pitch the after-work meetup that doesn't cause her to decide to use it as an objection, and gives her the least opportunity for flaking. I think there's a right way and a wrong way in this situation.

I was by there again today. I just walked by her register on my way out without saying anything and raised an eyebrow at her.

She immediately stopped what she was doing, looked at me with a big smile and said "Oh hey! Hi! How you doin'?"

Game on, gentlemen. [Image: smile.gif] It's pretty clear she doesn't really give a fuck what the other employees think. I'm planning on heading over there at the end of her shift tomorrow or the next day and pitching the date.

She may view you as a potential guy friend, so just keep that in mind if you get rejected. Still she's young and young women go through boyfriends faster than a cheap toilet paper roll, so you might as well give it a shot.
