I am going to sound really stupid here, but I don't get the joke? Why does a woman make a $10 bill worth $7?

We keep having these news stories which sound like a joke and then turn out to be real.

If only you knew how bad things really are.

This is another example of the blatant propaganda in American media:
Quote:Quote:

As you note, Jackson is a weird president to put on money because he didn’t even want the government to issue paper money, and he even abolished the second central bank. But I’m more surprised that he remains on the bill despite his policy of Indian removal, which was an atrocity and which he pursued in defiance of the Supreme Court. Democratic politicians in Washington are prepared to line up against the Washington Redskins and even try to revoke the team’s trademark, yet a Treasury Department in a Democratic administration is content to continue putting Jackson’s face on money. It’s bizarre.

The leftist media HATE Jackson - the very opposite of everything they are. I also love how people love to judge dead people - "look at all the things he did wrong" as if these people will be considered heroes in 100 years (historians will talk about all the problems they committed). This is yet another example of why the only thing some Americans know about Andrew Jackson is that he was a "big fat poopoo head to the native Americans" rather than all of the positive things he did like help defeat the British in the War of 1812, shut down the central bank, pay off our national debt (the ONLY president EVER to do this), etc.

No, no, no, according to leftists all you need to know is he was a poopoo head to the native Americans!

It doesn't matter who's on a paper currency because 100% of them have failed (and the current ones will too).

Jackson gets a bad rap. If you hate Jackson, read this and tell me what you think of him afterwards:

When I saw this on the news today I really, truly wanted to sell it all and expatriate. How can men allow a President, the highest symbol of the masculine, be castrated and replaced by a woman.

Now they, men included, want to throw out Andrew Jackson too. That guy led two armies, won the state of Florida from the Spanish and founded the state of Tennessee. He even took a bullet to the chest to defend his wife's honor.

This country is truly lost.

As a New Englander I nominate Hannah Duston, though mostly for ironic purposes...

Quote:Quote:

Hannah Duston (also spelled "Dustin"), her 6-day old baby Martha, and her nurse Mary Neff were kidnapped by Indians on March 15, 1697. After several days on the run north into New Hampshire, the Indians and their prisoners ended up here, on a small island (somewhere along the way an Indian grabbed baby Martha and smashed her to death against a tree).

Hannah, thoroughly pissed, snatched a tomahawk and began killing the Indians, aided by the nurse and a 14-year-old boy. By the time that they were through, 10 of the 12 Indians lay dead. Hannah collected the scalps as proof of her deed (and to collect a scalp bounty) and went home.

177 years passed. By 1874 New Hampshire had become part of the U.S., and Hannah had become an object of civic pride: the "Granite State Heroine." It may seem strange, but of all of the women who had ever lived in America, Hannah the Indian killer was the first to get a statue.

It doesn't matter anyway. Cash will be obsolete soon enough. It's a token gesture to shut bitches up in the short term.

I'm for it if they put an attractive woman topless on the Ten.

This is how our money used to look:

Also, as I pointed out in one of the previous incarnations of the women on money threads, Martha Washington was previously on our One Dollar Bill. Would anybody really object to having George and Martha reunited on the greenback?

Sign of the times. It won't be long before all of the "dead white males" are exorcised from our national history. The "to be determined" -- because there is no woman who has had an impact on America's greatness even close to those of any of the men pictured on our money -- really rises to the height of self-parody.

My vote for the $10 bill is Margaret Sanger. She was the intellectual force behind the civil right most cherished by today's women. (A proud woman could pay for her next abortion with a stack of $10 bills.)

Edited to add: Maybe we could all agree to replace Wilson on the 10-cent coin with a woman. Would give a whole new meaning to "dime piece."

P.S. I was surprised to learn that the Treasury Department unilaterally decides who is depicted on our money, instead of it being specified by law (except for George Washington on the $1 bill). It would be nice if the next Republican administration nixed this idiocy, although of course it won't happen.

I may not like Hamilton's ideas but he was probably the most talented of the founders and did a lot of work.
He should be on the bill.
Especially when he is the only man of Scottish descent among the founders. So he's a protected minority right?

I pretty much agree with this statement, at face value.

My next idea has nothing to do with Parlay, I just think this philosophy and mindset, although TRUE, is hoping the spark doesn't catch the forest on fire.

However, it's not about that. What it comes down to is systematically changing a pack of lions into hyenas and saying it's all good and same same as it ever was.

If you give a mouse a cookie, they want milk. You show that you will change the $10 bill, maybe Hillary Rodham is on your Visa in 2025? It shouldn't matter... money changes hands at the value set outside of this nonsense, but pandering for the sake of silence is ridiculous. If we needed a new bill for some reason, I think we'd be ok with looking at modern icons of influence, voting on men and women who weren't around in the 18th century. This is simply replacing a man for a woman, on that principle alone. It's the definition of sexism. A woman MUST, and a man CANNOT.

A strong male society says NO to this horse shit. Whatever, I'm sure it will pass with flying colors and there will be a parade to celebrate this historic event.

I agree with putting Jenner on it. Men are even better at being women than women...

Hamilton also founded the U.S Coast Guard. As a Coastie myself I think this sucks. As one poster has said before, the U.S Government has came down hard on the 'Washington Redskins' nickname for its supposed racist connotations but is sparing Andrew Jackson, hugely responsible for the Trail of Tears for their pet project.
