Call this conspiratorial if you want, but it seems like whenever there's a real decent opportunity to talk about police militarization and brutality the race hustlers come in and completely destroy it.

People at home on TV watching these riots are not likely going to think it's a good idea to stop police militarization. They'll probably think we need more of it to respond to shit like this.

The race hustlers come off like useful idiots to me. If they buy into the idea that one race (as opposed to a class) has all the power, why alienate them?

The governor declared a state of emergency, and the big local TV station, WBAL, is pre-empting programming on both its digital stations today. That means at 2 p.m., they'll pre-empt Dr. Oz, and I won't get to see Roosh on TV.

They want a "hot summer". For years the Policy lobby and the Government have been wanting to push urban tensions to boil over to justify and normalize the use of ultra aggressive force and eventually attempt to confiscate arms.

Watching the videos of the riots, I'm reminded (as another poster mentioned) how quickly things can fall apart in this country. I was in high school when the 92 riots broke out in LA and remember the video of that truck driver, Reginald Denny, who got pulled out of his truck by rioters and nearly beaten to death.

The idea of police who aren't accountable for their brutality scares me. But the reality of a world without cops scares me more because every now and then (LA, Katrina, and now Baltimore) we get a glimpse of what that world looks like.

Then he described how he and some Bloods had stood in front of black-owned stores to protect them from looting or vandalism. He said they had made sure no black children, or reporters, were hit by rioters. They pointed them toward Chinese- and Arab-owned stores.

It saddens me to think that these people are re-producing.

Ray Lewis sends a message to Baltimore Rioters. I see the media pushing for a civil war here they way they have been inciting these emotions to get people to riot.

This is making me think the police should indeed be a bit more militarized. How in the world are they letting this get so out of hand? I thought they were awash in used military gear, they can't round up these people destroying buildings, throwing rocks, burning cars and crate them off?

I know any individual who tried what these people are doing in a peaceful city would be arrested or possibly killed. Yet the mob has been very effective at intimidating the police it seems. That should not be the case.

Check this out. Pretty intense close-up footage of riot cops in Spartan formation being pushed back, including an officer down. Commentary says the officer may have been hit in the face with a brick. 21st century tribal warfare with medieval tactics. Pretty interesting actually...

Yeah this type of violent rioting does nothing except give people an opportunity to be thankful they don't live around or near people like that.

There is absolutely no reason to want to live in those types of neighborhoods. Even if you're a struggling immigrant go elsewhere.

For people on the political fence it pushes them way in favor of militarization. This is why Martin Luther King jr wasn't really into violent protest.
