Call this conspiratorial if you want, but it seems like whenever there's a real decent opportunity to talk about police militarization and brutality the race hustlers come in and completely destroy it.
People at home on TV watching these riots are not likely going to think it's a good idea to stop police militarization. They'll probably think we need more of it to respond to shit like this.

^^^
The race hustlers come off like useful idiots to me. If they buy into the idea that one race (as opposed to a class) has all the power, why alienate them?

They want a "hot summer". For years the Policy lobby and the Government have been wanting to push urban tensions to boil over to justify and normalize the use of ultra aggressive force and eventually attempt to confiscate arms.
The Gov didn't give Police corps across America with military grade gear to not use it...

Well, from 2008 to 2011, the Orioles often played in an empty stadium.

Does this mean The Wire is coming back?
I only watched part of the first season...should I go watch the whole thing, or just watch FoxNews?

It's clearly about Freddie Gray and just how badly these people have it in life. Clearly.

Funny how when you don't watch tv or follow the news, I had no idea any of this was going on (I'd seen one little line on it, didn't read).
Interesting tho. Like thinking about politics or liberals or feminism or the downfall of our country, it just gives me unneeded anxiety.

It saddens me to think that these people are re-producing.

Obviously we are not seeing any police brutality here via "militarization".
The poor guy that died was basically, if I understand, manhandled to death by the cops. Any group of thugs could do that.
When cops in Ferguson showed up like they were an occupying army they were immediately ordered to stand down by the press and government alike.
So now the police in Baltimore are basically not doing anything but arresting stray hooligans. Nothing really "militaristic" at all about how the cops are handling this.
As far as I know, that is. Open to being proven wrong.
I brought that issue up because the two are often related. Not always, but fairly often. It has as much to do with the tactics as it does the military equipment. Whether it played a role in Freddie Gray's death or not, I don't really know.
I wasn't just talking about this incident alone.

Sure I completely understand.
A week ago I would've said I was against police militarization.
This is making me think the police should indeed be a bit more militarized. How in the world are they letting this get so out of hand? I thought they were awash in used military gear, they can't round up these people destroying buildings, throwing rocks, burning cars and crate them off?
They're controlled by Baltimore's mayor.
And what's pathetic is that innocent people can't even defend themselves worth a shit in Maryland because of their shitty gun laws.
Mr. Knife Threatener would be shot dead in Florida, I guarantee.
