He even pleaded with her afterward saying it was a joke, but the bitch wouldn't budge. If this were a male judge, there's no way a little laughter in the crowd would allow him to get emotionally undeterred like this.

I saw the clip of this. It wasn't much of a slap. What really made the judge mad was that the courtroom spectators laughed, and she thought it made a mockery of her courtroom and authority. I guess she felt his actions showed he wasn't taking things seriously, so she punished him for it. It was just a jock thing, but she felt it was disrespectful to her. Hateful bitch.

Exactly. Here we have a woman with ultimate power, whose actions are determined by her reactive behavior instead of cognitive logic.

Suppose one evening she's in her living room laughing at her husband, and he feels he's being mocked so he throws a shoe at her to end the laughter. Sounds fair to me.

Chads a dumb ass. I have no sympathy for a man that can see clear power structures and how to work them. This is why he was a substandard player as he could never properly read defenses and now finds himself near broke and locked up.

We also need to question why he was in front of a judge in the first place. That crazy bitch fiancé of his instigated a fight, but he got arrested for it. He fucked up by not making his visits to his probation officer, but he shouldn't have had to in the first place. From beginning to end, he's gotten pretty much fucked by the system, with women being at the heart of his problems. Yes, he obviously has to take responsibility for his current situation - he chose to get engaged to the Lozada chick in the first place. Chad has always been a fun-loving dude, without a malicious bone in his body. He's always tried to keep it light, and as he said, he was trying to lift his own spirits, and not mock the judge or her court. Dude shouldn't be locked up for 30 minutes, let alone 30 days. There are some real criminal athletes walking around right now.

No. If I was the judge and somebody pulled that in my court room, he's getting time regardless of race. This is on par with that bitch in Florida. You disrespect the court you get punished - simple fact.

Judge was very obviously insecure that she was being laughed at. The dude's attorney should have tried to explain to her that it was just a custom the guy did unthinkingly.

Watch the video. He didn't disrespect the court at all.

All he did was make a gesture with his attorney. At that moment the judge continued to give her order as though everything was fine. While she was doing that, the bailiff turn around and laughed. At that point the rest of the audience laughed. If you look at the video, you'll notice the audience laughed in response to the bailiff, and not to what Ocho was doing. There was at least a ten second delay between Ocho's gesture and the audience bursting out laughing.

This would have gone entirely different had a male judge been there. A male judge would have far better control over the courtroom. Most female judges would too, this specific one was a floosy. Keep in mind this is a low level misdemeanor judge. It's likely her first encounter with a celebrity and she was unable to maintain control over her courtroom under the lights and cameras. She had no control over her bailiff, no control over the audience, and poor Chad was made to be the scapegoat in her last ditch attempt to display her authority.

He was trying to strike a plea bargain, of course the judge has the right to deny him for any reason.

If it was a male judge the outcome would have been the same. If someone is doing you a favor then show them some deference. This is true for any country.

Do note the deal was already struck between prosecutor and defense, and the question was whether Ocho thought his representation was satisfactory.

This sounds bizarre, as the judge could only have heard the laughter from Ocho slapping his lawyer's ass, but she apparently claimed she could see what happened?
