Best Venues for pickup in Sao Paulo?

Not true.
Most places in Sao Paulo are 50/50.

And about this thing women say on the lack of men in clubs (or for that matter, anywhere), , you should already know by now it´s not true (women everywhere in the world will always complain about a supposed lack of men, no matter what).

I went to a club this weekend and it must have been a 3/1 female-to-male ratio.... it was crazy. Is this unusual for Sao Paulo?

My female friend here seems to suggest that there are usually more women than men in Brazilian clubs and that a lot of times girls have difficulty finding "good men" and complain about it all of the time....

Anyone got any insight? I didn't realize we potentially had it so good here!

Hey Yeezy! Care to drop a data sheet on name of the club you went to? How much longer will you be there? I will be there once again next Friday (February 4th, 2011) for a few days.

Yes, it is... Sometimes even more.
Go to a pagode/samba scene... If plays pagode there are more women (beautiful ones) than men. In fact, most of men go there for hunting.

@ Chocolatina - Any club/lounge suggestions for the Pagode/Samba scene? I went to a spot called Casa De Matriz with some girls I met at the Afro-Brasilian Festival and it was really nice and tons of fly chicks of all colors.

Also guys dancing on top of the middle of the bar? WTF...I thought only women were allowed to do that.

Actually this is common in the whole entire SA Continent! In just about every country I visited, it is accepted that men also get on top of tables/bars and dance. Pretty much the same way we are used to seeing women do it.

It freaked me out too, but I did not see anyone else but me freaked out and the crowd was actually cheering them on. WTF? [Image: huh.gif]

I thought it was an isolated incident, and then started seeing the same thing even in Latin clubs in Miami - places like Opa and working class latino clubs in Miami, MEN dance on tables and on top of bars with their buddies!! AAaahhhg5&$^

But wait!!! It gets worse, I once saw a dude bring his wife (who was hot) and his 5 year old daughter into a club that served alcohol, and he had his daughter dancing on top of the table with him and his wife all together!! And it was 2:00am WTF????? [Image: huh.gif]

Like I said to Global Baller

Vila do Samba and Capitão Gancho - In the North side, less people will speak English. Port required.

Santa Aldeia (younger girls)

Bar Mangueira

Vila Duca

Aldeia da Villa -

Those are some.... You can look further in another places during the week for the schedule for diversity (e.g Monday: samba, Tuesday: reggae and so on)

http://www.obaoba.com.br is the best website to see what is going on at night in brasil. I used it all the time in Sao Paulo. If you are staying in any of the capital cities they have a schedule of events for each night.

Weekly Agenda for Sao Paulo, Brazil: Bars and Clubs
I lived in Sao Paulo for 6 months and these are the places I would recommend to go for each day of the week. You have a lot more options since it's a huge city but these are places I would recommend.

Quick tips: Always put your name on the list(seu nome na lista) of the club you will go to on their website if you want to save some money. Also if you like to drink always do the consumption (consumação) option instead of paying the cover(entrada).

Monday(Segunda)
Venue: D- Edge- "On the Rocks"
District: Barra Funda
Closest Metro Station: Barra Funda on the Red line(Linha vermelha)
On Monday nights at D-Edge they have Rock and electronic music. This is your best bet for Monday nights since there are a lot of girls and a lot of them will speak English. I think the cover(entrada) is R$40.

Tuesday(Terca)
Venue: Clash Club- "Chocolate"
District: Barra Funda
Closest Metro Station: Barra Funda
On Tuesday nights they play hip hop music and you will see tons of fine women. The only downside is that this place is expensive. It is is between R$60-R$70 cover for men.

Budget:
Venue: Clube Berlin- Jazz Nights
District: Barra Funda
On Tuesday nights if you don't want to spend a lot of money you can go to Clube Berlin and you will probably only spend around R$45 with consumption. I went and they had good Jazz music and cool people but definitely not the quality of women you would see at Clash Club.

Wednesday(Quarta)
Venue: Bar Brahma
District: Centro
Closest Metro Station: Republica on the Redline
This is a cool bar which has live music on Wednesday nights. You can get some good food and drink a lot of beer.

Thursday(Quinta)
Venue: Clube Gloria- "Soul Gloria"
District: Bela Vista
Closest Metro: Trianon Masp on the Green Line(Linha Verde)

This place has a cool ambiance with a good smoking section to meet girls. But be careful this place is usually really gay(homosexual) except for Thursday nights. They have hip hop and R and B on Thursday nights. Get there early it will get super crowded after midnight. Again you can find a lot of girls who will go here. I think the cover is R$40 not sure about the consumption.

Venue: D-Edge
Went here around 1:00 am and we didn't even end up going in because the line was ridiculous. I heard the best night to go to D-Edge is on Thursday nights though.

Studio SP
*On Rua Augusta
This place has live music throughout the week and weekend. Usually rock music and sometimes reggae. This place like most clubs on Rua Augusta doesn't have the hottest girls. The cover is usually between R$15-R$35, depends on the band.
*Check out other clubs on Rua Augusta on Thursday if you want and if you are on a budget.

I also heard Lyons Night club is sick but it is expensive

Friday(Sexta)
Venue: Dolores Bar
District: Vila Madalena
Closest Metro: Vila Madalena but not really close to the metro at all
Dolores Bar is a club that plays hip hop and R and B. Here you will see a lot of fine black women and morenas. I noticed that black dudes do quite well here. The dance floor is a little small but it is a pretty cool place. I think the cover is R$30.

Venue: Clash Club
On Friday nights they have electronic music mostly. You will see tons of fly girls at this club on Tuesdays or during the weekends. Again it is pretty expensive the consumption is R$120.

Venue: Love Story
District: Centro
Closest Metro Station: Republica on the Red line
This place is for the people that are into shoring. I've never been but I hear a lot of garotas de programa(prostitutes) go here. I would imagine you could shore these chicks if you game them right. I heard its crackin on Friday and Saturday nights but it opens at 1:00 am and I heard most people go way later than that.

Saturday(Sabado)
Venue: Vegas
*On Rua Augusta St.

I would recommend to go here on Saturday nights in Sao Paulo. It is the best night to go to Vegas in the week. They have two dance floors with two djs. I had the best luck meeting girls here out of any venue in Sao Paulo. The outdoor smoking area is a clutch place to meet girls. On Saturday nights its R$35 for the entrada and R$70 for consumption. I would go here around 2:00 am that is when its starts to get poppin. Plenty of places to pregame on Rua Augusta before you go in.

Opium Club
District: Itaim Bibi
*No metro is close you need to take a taxi or know someone who has a car.

This is a sick club. I went there with a girl I was dating and her group of friends. This place is expensive though since it is in one of the nicest parts of Sao Paulo. There are multiple floors here and a cool rooftop area with a bar. This place has a lot of fine women but I can't comment on gaming any of them because I went there with a girl. I payed around R$100 with consumption that night. Not too bad.

Sunday(Domingo)
Venue: Vila Do Samba
District: Casa Verde

This place has live Samba music every Sunday night. You will see a lot of beautiful women dancing samba and it seems like a good place to pick up if you speak Portuguese. I went here with a girl so I can't comment on gaming any of them. Also you can get some good food and drink some cerveja gelada.

I stayed with a friend who has a flat near Rua Augusta.....man...you can get into trouble down that street [Image: smile.gif]
But ,I loved just sitting at the Boteca supping on a beer and watching the street life!
Can't remember the places I went...I remember walking past Vegas..but never went in.
Wished I'd had more time ..only stayed the weekend.

Pilgrim37,

"I remember walking past Vegas..but never went in"

This was my favorite venue in Sao Paulo. Like I said on Saturday nights there are a lot of cute girls. Also you can go there on Thursday nights and it will be fun. Good places to meet girls is either on the dance floor, in the line to the restrooms(there is always a big line as the night progresses) or my favorite spot the outdoor smoking area.

I usually met girls in the smoking area and would suggest to go inside and get a drink and hit the dance floor. Also the dance floor below gets more action when it gets late and I've hooked up with some girls around 4:00 am or later and got numbers on the bottom floor around that time. So stick it out and keep going if you haven't been having luck earlier in the night.

Just a quick report: went to an alternative rock place OUTS (in front of Inferno on Rua Augusta), and then on to Vegas on Sat night. OUTS was decent- good music but almost zero chance to speak or meet someone... Vegas was great! Lot of good looking girls and only a handful of gringos [Image: smile.gif]

Spoke to two girls in smoking area (I don't smoke and neither did they- so we were all for fresh air) and had a nice time. Unfortunately, they had a third friend who found herself puking, and the girls had to drive her home, but I got the phone number.

In typical BR style, everything was going on - noticed three girls on pole going wild, and two girls and a boy in hot making out.

Con: the crowd is very young (18-24), very very few speak English and most were in large groups- that were difficult to break in to because of my non-existent Portuguese.

PS: Mrs. Chocolate: have a couple of question on BR females that I am finding difficulty in figuring out... can I please IM you?

Yes, you can.

I can guess your question, but send me... I bet it is about how brazilian people interact because WW just keep drinking and BR keep dancing.

Best Venues for pickup in Sao Paulo?

I've been to Sao Paolo twice and will be back next week. One place I found happening on Sunday nights (by aciddent) is in Guaruhlos at a place called Kabala. It is totally packed with nice easy going and unpretentious girls. I was invited to a table and was poured drinks from their bottle. There is a university in Guaruhlos and many students and non student chicks come here to to listen to the live band on Sundays (Country, Forro) and everyone is having a great time. place holds about 1,000 people and it's packed.

Website can be found via google (Kabala, Guaruhlos)

I have a question: How is the beach area outside Sao Paolo for partying and pick ups? Specifically Maresias and São Sebastião - specifically club Sirena. Any other clubs in this area? I have no idea about this place, so any comments and info most welcome.

BTW, I too went too went to Nefertiti (swing club) and it was mind blowing, for me at least, since I wasn't expecting it....that place is huge and looks like a regular club with lots of hot people.

I can also confirm Casa do Samba on Sundays is fun, especially since it starts in the afternoon.

There is another Kabala Club in Tatuape, but the Guarulhos scene is bigger.
I went to Nefertiti once, and I may go back when I find a partner (= Boyfriend).
Plus in Ubatuba there is a club named 360º, and a beach party at Areia Vermelha. ( I don't know the name, but you can ask around and people may know it)

I will confirm that the Samba Schools (Especially Vai Vai on Sunday) Is a GOLDMINE If you are into Mixed & Black Brazilian Girls...I was getting TONS of attention and when they heard me speak English girls were ready and very interested. I ended up meeting a Beyonce look alike accountant & we immediately hit It off, she chose up, we kissed and got real comfy, drank good then hit another club and went back to my place near Paulista...

I also went to Maguiera Bar and it was a good scene. The chicks were a little bit too old for my taste but I ended up meeting a nice girl who was celebrating there with her family that I plan to get with when I return to SP next week.

Cool, do you have any contact info on that Samba School? It's in Sao Paolo, right?

Mrs. Chocoloate, thanks for the info, but what is it like to party at those places by the beach?

Also on Nefertiti, can you mingle outside and hook up with a girl and go in together? I saw lots of girls mingling outside and I remember thinking what they were waiting for. Are they waiting for some guy to pay their way in?

They may be p4p girls. The male entrance alone costs 300 reais on saturday.
However, with a girl, as a "couple" costs 120, plus bar consumption.
The girl, by herself, cost 30 reais, plus bar consumption.
Is a great deal for men and girls... Anyway...

I never been on it, but is a lay back attitude for sure. When get some data sheet, I will let you know.
@IS i see you used my PM tips and enjoyed them all... I'm glad!
By this time, Samba Schools are choosing the best song for carnival! I need to go to Vai- Vai! LOL.

Some rehearsals scheduled

Friday

Unidos de Vila Maria ( 7 pm)
Rosas de Ouro (Great place wed, friday and sundays)
Aguia de Ouro
Mocidade Alegre (fridays and sundays)

Sunday

Great info on the Samba schools Mrs. Chocolate. I know how to Samba, so I would not embarrass anyone, most Brazilians smile when they see this white boy dancing Samba.

How do I contact these schools or get in on their classes, addresses? Websites?

You will find it easily on Google, but portuguese is highly required, few of them has an english version.

I'm back from Brazil and Sao Polo:

1. D-Edge sucks on Mondays and Weekends - unless you like preening teeny boppers. Lots of dudes there as well and I didn't feel they were gay. So ratio sucked too. My Wingman was of the same opinion. The club itself is outdated, far from the best I've heard it was supposed to be. Just because it has lights in the floor doesn't mean jack.
2. Vila Country is always good hunting and packed. I even had a girl press her phone number into my hand on a piece of paper unsolicited and hooked up with another I met there a day later.
3. Mangeira is easy picking as well for Morenas. I think this is true for almost all Samba/Pagode places. My wingman picked up a girl in a Pagode place in Vila Magdalena and I picked on up in Mangeira. They're also the most fun of places.
4. Clash (the club itself) is nothing special and dark, but lots of girls and I made out with one and got her number.
5. Vegas - not my thing - too young and teeny bopper style, similar to D-Edge. Neither D-Edge nor Vegas had the best looking girls either.
6. I wish I had gone to Lions and KiaOra instead of to some of the places I would up going to.
7. Vila Magdalena is full of clubs and girls. Several Pagode/Samba places and many other styles as well. Good place to hang out if you're unsure of where to go. There is bound to be something close by you like.
8. Love Story - I was laughing to myself the whole time - pathetic place full of hookers and some female tourists curious but very guarded. Brazilian men don't go here for a reason - it sucks unless you're looking for a hooker and even then there are much better hooker places that Love Story, so overall a no go.
9. Pagode/Samba places - go here for the most fun and good ration for men. Though you'll do much much better if you can dance a bit (like me), because that;s what the girls want to do - that's your very easy in, especially if you don't speak porto, dancing is a universal language and you go from there.
10. Nefertiti - I really wanted to go there again but I couldn't hook up with a regular female to go there with me, so I went to other places instead. Maybe I';ll keep in contact with some of the girls I met this time and ask them when I go back to Sao Paolo.
11. Know where the nearest Love Motels are in the area where you are going that night - before you go, just in case.

Places I liked or have heard good reliable info on:
KiaOra
Lions Club
Vila Country
Vila Magdalena
Kabala (Guaruhlos)
Most Samba/Pagode clubs

Avoid the rest in my opinion, except as below.

I would have liked to have tried a few others like Opium Club and and some places in Vila Olympia in Itiam (spelling?). But I didn't, so I can't say. I can also say it's fairly easy to pick up, make out and get numbers in Sao Paolo. As soon as you approach, usually the girls open right up, even if they seemed be guarded at first - the ice layer the girls have is thin and broken through easily enough. In Colombia the layer is much thicker and in Los Angeles much thicker still. Just don't be shy or hesitate. Direct strong approach with a smile is best. Even if they're not interested, they not rude about it and just go to the next. Some may be married on a girls night out or whatever....

However, if you cant' dance at all (Sertanejo/Pagode/Samba), and b) don't speak any Portuguese at all, and c) you like really young under 23 yo boppers (I've found a 26 yo is a generation ahead of a 22 yo) - then do the opposite and avoid my list (except Vila Magdalena). In Vila Magdalena, there is always something for everyone it seems from Thursday - Sunday.

My 2 cents.
