How is Mardi Gras in New Orleans now?

I went to 4 Mardi Gras in New Orleans prior to Katrina. Has anybody been since Kartrina? How is it? Lots of pretty college and other young girls? Or have they been scared off by all the "Girls Gone Wild" videos. Also the place was getting a little rough for a while. I'd like to hear from you guys.

I went before Katrina. Here is the Sheet:

http://www.thegmanifesto.com/2010/02/mar...o-way.html

From what I have heard, Mardi Gras has more than recovered.

If you want to go, go.

What are your other choices in America? Mardi Gras in California where bars close at 1:30 am and you can't have a drink in the street?

Also, I have been to New Orleans a few times since Katrina (although last time was a few years ago, thinking of going again), it seemed to have "recovered" in general. At least the French Quarter.

I am not a big Mardi Gras advocate, but I will tell anyone to go to New Orleans.

Place is dope.

It is America's "most exotic city".

Well of course you're not a big Mardi Gras advocate G, from what I've heard there's nothing classy about it! That's just the way I like it though. Let's get slutty. Now I just need to figure out what days to go, and where the hell I'm gonna find a place to stay this late in the game.

I love your gator picture or is that a croc? Yes, Mardi Gras is one of least classy events you can go to in the USA. The whole place smells kind of like a cross between old rotten spilled beer and sewage. If you like order and cleanliness this place is not for you. I have a pair of old beatup laceup Timberline ankle boots I wear to wade through the beer cans, glasses, trash, and muck on the streets at night. Also if somebody throws up on your feet, no problem!

What are the dates of it this year? My friends that I used to go with want to come out of retirement and do one more! I'm at my best at big wild parties like that and earned the title from my friends "King of Mardi Gras"!

Did anyone get down to Mardi Gras 2012. I went to 4 prior to Katrina. If you went, how was it? I watched some on webcam and was unimpressed. I did not see a lot of beads on girls. Also on Bourbon Street there were also a lot of crazies carrying crosses trying to save the sinners! They used to keep these people off Bourbon and in the park near by. Not seeing a lot of beads is a very bad sign because the beads are the key to the wildness!

Bust out a datasheet.

Look up one of the other players datasheets and use that as a format.

Hook it up. I was in New Orleans in '09(during summer), first time since the hurricanes and it everything was cool. I'm a little interested in Mardi Gras tho.

The cycle of disrespect can start with just an appetizer.

Am out there Feb 9th - 16th, any info would be interesting.

I'm not too bothered about the big parades, more the nightlife. I'm guessing Bourbon Street is like a big street party at night? Do people party til 7am?

Also I'm presuming the type of girls that go will be DTF, 18-25 sluts much like the Brit girls that go Ibiza etc

Not sure what clothes to bring either - normally I dress pretty smart but sounds like I'll be needing overalls and welly boots!

The trash is crazy. I wouldn't recommend wearing any dress shoes of value. Honestly I would wear throw away tims or boots. You will toss them after a week. Probably want to toss them a night after hitting Bourbon St. Also, your jeans or dress pants will get it too. Piss, throwup and beer everywhere.

I lived in New Orleans from 95-2000. I was too young to party. I remember hitting up Bourbon street one time though. I think I went with my older sisters. All I remember is trash and titties.

Some pictures of a clean B Steet and dirty B Steet after one night.

The cycle of disrespect can start with just an appetizer.

Sooooo many hand grenades. Do not drink any of those neon green colored containers and expect to have any recollection of what happened the previous night.

I'm sure there have been many Kings of Mardi Gras. Probably one in each group of guys that spends 5 days at Mardi Gras. I got my name for partying the longest, seeing a few sun rises, and pulling the most girls in 5 days of anyone in my group. Also no high end parties for me. Just playing on college and redneck girls!

You been to New Orleans recently?

I haven't been recently. I asked the the guys I used to go with to go. One guy had been trying to get me to go to Mardi Gras for several years, but I was out of the country a lot or not in the mood because I just come back. So this year I told him I was ready to go and of course he had excuses. Cost too much. So I found him a cheap flight there. Then I found us a good hotel for only 3 nights and he still didn't go. So I know he's just a bullshitter. I watched it on TV and the streets looked pretty empty. My hair stylist went because he's from New Orleans and told me it was cold and rainy and the turn out was not great. Also Super Bowl was the weekend before so a lot of people came in that weekend so Mardi Gras didn't get the high turn out.

I can't even find a good crew of guys to do St. Patrick's Day. I do my best work on all the party holidays. I believe girls are just looking for an excuse to get wild.

There's no competition from guys for girls in the USA. Most guys don't even go out and try. I wish a hell of lot more guys were going out Gaming girls, then girls would get used to being hit on by guys expecting sex!

Did not find a better new Orleans thread but had a few quick thoughts to share

New orleanians consider themselves hip and unique not southern..

Expect fat ugly girls with nasty haircuts and tattoos not southern belles

Bourbon st is 100% tourists. Wasted a night (in terms of getting laid .. Still had a good time ) hitting on girls in horrible logistical situations .. Had to wake up early, were sharing hotels with Professional colleagues for a big event that was going on

Women have no shame here for being obese and ugly. Two morbidly obese women got on stage and showed their tits. Was so revolting I actually drunkenly got on stage and held out my arms to obstruct the view of the crowd from this offensive sight.
