Looks cool. It looks like a great place to visit for a couple of days on a Central American tour. The first pic is way photoshopped, though.
Panama Tops The List...

HC - what's your take on Panama? Why are you high on it?
Man, I loved Panama. Below are some pics of my beach house on Isla Carenero, which is an island that's part of Bocas del Toro--an island archipelago off the coast of Panama near the Costa Rican border.
I spent a lot of time there and got to know the locals real well. I had neighbors from Italy, Spain, etc. I went to dope parties with people from all over the world--Israelis, Australians, Argentinians, Europeans, etc.
It was truly awesome. If you go to Bocas today you can drop my name and people still know me there. I signed contracts in Spanish, networked with local business folks, lawyers, small business owners, etc.
I really loved how the islands were set up man, especially for nightlife. I'd just walk down to the end of my dock and hail a water taxi for like a quarter (Panama uses the US dollar). A place like Aqua Lounge would be on a strip of island in the Caribbean Sea. WILD parties man. Folks from all over the world. Cheap drinks. Shit was like Cancun man. I got laid every time I partied there on Friday and Saturday. Mad sluts. I'd get drunk silly and then hop in a water taxi back to my beach house. Shit was real optimal man. That's simply why I love Panama. I lived a whole different reality there.
Panama City also impressed me. I wasn't expecting much after having seen San Jose, but Panama City is truly an economic powerhouse. Panama actually has the fastest growing economy in Latin America. It's a top five destination in the world for retirees, and it has one of the strongest and easiest business climates for expats.
It's hard for me to objectively evaluate the place because when I think of it, I remember the people I know there and my friends. I would never recommend staying in a hostel there because you honestly don't need to. For like $500 a month, or less, you can live like a boss right near the beach.
Also, I'm not trying to hype the local talent, as I did not see anything like this, but these are famous pics of Panamanian chicas at a cricket match. It's gotten circulated quite a bit....
Below are some pics of my pad from my Facebook, and just chillin. I didn't take any pics of locals as my girl from the States was coming through, but they were decent. I put down a half puerto rican/panamanian chick who didn't even have hot water at her crib. She would wash her hair at my spot lol. I ran through lots of gringas down there. I was the only black guy on the island I lived on.
Nice laidback looking Crib..I like that style.
What business are you in that allowed you to do business there?Have you moved on to pastures new?

I consulted for a legal services firm (the only one on the island) and managed a bar as well. I have some good friends from the US who started a couple of hostels there--and then sold them--and one in Panama City.
I ended up heading back to the States for career reasons which has been working out for me in meeting my long-term goals.
Bocas is definitely a place worth checking out. Interesting history and culture in that part of the world.
This is laughable. Comparing the women of Panama to Colombia??
When I read stuff like this, I get nervous that this forum has a lot of misinformation as well as a lot of good information.
The women in Panama City are disgusting. The only attractive women in Panama City are Colombian prostitutes and a handful of rich girls that you find in every Latin country.
However, if you take the average girl on the street she'll be 25 lbs overweight with a butterface.
Yes, there is good infrastructure and it's a gateway to South America but this forum is largely about the women. And the women in Panama City are some of the ugliest of any major city I've ever been to.

Confirmed. The avg girl on the street in Panama is 15-30lbs overweight, and usually has a buttaface.
Granted they don't have the bitch shields that Miami girls have, but they certainly aren't famous for producing beauties like Colombia or Argentina or even some parts of Mexico!
Now, the only incredibly hot girl from Panama I have ever met, is a pro. This meetup happened 10 years ago in Costa Rica, and she looked like a mirror image of Kim Kardashian - damn she was just incredible! But, she was a prostitute in Costa Rica, so, damaged goods.

Who's even comparing the women of Panama to Colombia? Only you. I made it clear that you can't compare the local women to Colombians, and even that the p4p scene is dominated by Colombians. I also said that Panama can only be fairly compared to other Central American countries, and it leads the pack IMO.
I also shared my experiences which were incredible. I made it clear that most of the women I slayed were gringas from all over the world.
In terms of day game, Panama is a horrible place (people are usually at work). The typical women moving around aren't exceptional by any means. To really see the good looking women in that country, you HAVE TO go out at night to these spots:
Zona Viva (great talent)
Causeway (High End scene)
Calle Uruguay (cool venues and females)
Via Argentina (Rich Panamanians and international scene)
Via Espana (mostly Colombians)
There's also some nice women in some of the casino hotels, from all over the world, especially Latin America. The new Trump complex (the largest building in Latin America) will be a hotbed of chicas; I'm confident.
One would be remiss to neglect Panama just on the basis of the locals, who aren't even running the show there. What makes Panama great is its diversity and expat communities from all over the world, especially Latin America.
There are chicks in Panama. Who cares where they happen to be from if they look good?
I was in Panama in June 2011. I enjoyed my stay ALTHOUGH the finest women were usually the Colombian imports (pros or not). There were some nice-looking Panamanian chicks but just not enough of them. Still, great place and really the only complaint I have is that the de-facto currency is the U.S. Dollar. Even the ATM machines give you American money. I didn't go "balla" on the hotel, but I did stay at that Marriott Courtyard near the mall and my girls could walk in freely with no problems.
I went out in those nightlife zones. I would say it's comparable to San Jose, Costa Rica but I think San Jose has slightly more attractive girls. You could say Panama has more attractive girls than the rest of Central America, but that is not saying much. Once you visit the holy trinity (Brazil, Colombia, Argentina), you end up being repulsed by Central American girls.
I have no experience with the coastal towns where there might be tourists. However, there were not gringas from all over the world in Panama City.
I just want the guys on the forum to be clear that there is a big difference between Panamanian resort towns and Panama City.

Very true, but I didn't think San Jose had better girls than Panama City.
I've been all over South America and you simply can't compare Central American women to that high standard.
However, actually living and working in a South American country is a HUGE cultural leap for an American. I like Panama in that it's an easy place to set up shop yet you still live in a latin culture and maintain strong links between the north and south. You can make many strong South American contacts while living in Panama.

I just had a convo with my main friend in Bocas del Toro, Panama. His name is Fabio but everyone calls him Rasta Fabio. For those who don't know, the entire Caribbean coast of Panama and Costa Rica is dominated by Afro-Caribbeans. There's a lot of black history in this region and English is widely spoken. Due to the intense malaria and heat in that region way back in the early days, the Spanish hired Jamaicans--who were better acclimated to the heat and living conditions--to work on railroad contracts to establish rail in the region (this was in the post-slavery era). After the contracts expired, the Jamaicans just stayed and the culture of that region is heavily influenced by Jamaicans. The majority of people on the Carib coast are black and mulatto. The English language was retained and passed downthrough the generations.
Even Marcus Garvey spent some time in Limon, Costa Rica (the biggest city on Costa Rica's Caribbean coast). Blacks from other Caribbean islands also found their way to the region, finding other work on banana plantations and the like.
This part of Central America is one of my favorite places in the world. It's really a place to get away and enjoy raw paradise; it's also absolutely nothing like the other regions in their respective countries, especially in the case of Costa Rica. Though San Jose (the capital) is only four hours by bus from Puerto Viejo (popular city on the Carib coast), it feels like I'm going from a Spanish-speaking country to a mostly English-speaking Caribbean island. There's huge rastafarian culture and reggae is mad popular on the Caribbean side.
In my earlier post, you can see the info I dropped about my time in Bocas, which exposed me to gringas from all over the world. It was amazing. Well, as you can imagine, many of the locals there--most of them Afro-Caribbean--have had MANY girlfriends from all over the world.
That's why I'm telling brothas reading this thread to NOT sleep on Panama. Not so much for the locals but for the many gringas in places like Bocas del Toro. You can be slaying chicks from Australia, Israeli, and the EU every weekend.
My boy Fabio has been to Switzerland like 3 times lol due to his girlfriends flying him out there. He's been all over Europe too. The same goes for many other dudes in that region. In case you didn't know, white girls have been going native for the longest time.
Check out the pics below (all from Bocas). He gave me his blessings to share them here. Tell me that's not worth a visit!
If you ever find yourself down there, drop my name and Rasta will lookout.

This thread was right on time I'm hitting up Bocas Del Toro for a week from January 15-22 with one night layovers on each end in Panama City so interested to see how it turns out! Thanks for the intel HC!
Having been over most of Central America, I would go to Panama for the canal, Bocas del Toro, the old City, and San Blas. That's it.
It's a cheap, cheap country and a great place to have fun if you're a backpacker on a shoestring budget.
Cheaper still is Nica, Guate and El Salvador, but the beaches in Panama are better, way better. G manifesto should be able to confirm. Panama - Managua bus can be done in 36 hrs.
Guatemala and Mexico (Chiapas) have the most impressive nature - lush and green with towering volcanoes. Nicaragua and El Salvador are impressive too, best in December at the end of the rainy season when everything is still green - otherwise it's friggin' hot.
In ALL these places, DON'T go for the girls. The backpackers chicks are easy sluts, none of them are very hot (there is a negative relationship between how adventurous a girl is and how well she takes care of her body = how hot she is). Local girls are atrocious, except the upper class rich girls from whom you will get no pussy until her mother vouches for you.
You will get laid, a LOT, of course, but I went for the amazing scenary and wild adventures, which i highly recommend!

There'll be a tall, horny, early 40's (looks early 30's) good looking juicy black girl named Sheila visiting from Los Angeles in Bocas at the same time. She likes young dick. Make it happen if you see her.
Bocas is great for turista game, as HC mentioned. It's a backpacker party scene though, so you gotta take the good with the bad. Staying away from the party hostels is key, imho. Aqua Lounge does throw a great party, I just wouldn't want to crash there.
I saw some mad talent in Casco Viejo, PC. However, it was because there was some concert / modelling event, not just everyday nightlife.

El Jefe and PDX are totally right. It is a cheap, predominately backpacker scene.
Barco Hundido is the main party spot in Bocas Town (the center of the island). It's just a restaurant and bar that opens up for dancing at night. Usually good music (Hip-Hop, Reggae, Reggaeton, Electro).
Aqua Lounge is on a different island that has nothing else but Aqua Lounge and some cribs. You take a water taxi from Bocas Town to get there for like 50 cents. It's a good place to scoop chicks and get silly drunk for MAD cheap. You'll find girls from all over the world here.
Even though the predominant scene is backpacker, the chicks that visit come from all walks of life and for all periods of time. Spend enough time in Bocas, and you'll meet new people every few days. Lots of chicks are just visiting Panama or CR and just spending a weekend to a week. You get them all (students, professionals, unemployed, travelers/backpackers, etc).
This is not a place that takes too much game. You definitely want to dress casual but trendy. During the day, shorts, light shirts, and sandals are a must because this is the tropics. Just make sure you don't stay at a hostel if you go to Bocas. You don't even need to. Spend a little more to upgrade to a decent spot and that's really all the DHV you'll need. Get drunk with these chicks and make it happen.
Drinks are mad cheap in Bocas. Rum and cokes are like $2!

HC great information here...I have only gamed overseas in Cabo(if that counts)...and need to broaden my horizons...
Can english(and no spanish) work in Panama and if I stay at a resort like Island(as you mention here) can i capture a couple of flags over a week stay ....I am saying this as I live in houston and we get good deals to go to Panama and I can use my miles...it would be my first foray into the fraternity of international playboys...

In Bocas del Toro, you can do fine with gringas without knowing Spanish. There are many gringas from countries like Australia, Switzerland, and Israel, who don't know Spanish.
Thanks HC +1 for intelligence.....any time period recommended or is it a year around melee?

Including Oakland immediately makes the rest of the list worthless. I grew up in Northern California and I can tell you Oakland is one of the last spots a tourist should ever go. What a joke.
I will say that the best Chinese food I ever had was in Chinatown in Oakland like 6 months ago. But I haven't been back. Why? Oakland is a shit hole.

Generally year-round, but the official season starts at like November and lasts through the North American/European winter.
Bocas Town is the center of the action. That's where you'll need to go to party and hit up bars. The lodging around there sucks and is fully of shitty hostels. Renting on the islands nearby across the water from Bocas Town is hard. I was lucky because I had a contact who helped me with the politics of renting a crib out there, but most folks have it locked up way ahead of time.
On Isla Colon, the main island where Bocas Town is, you're better off staying in the beautiful parts of the island that are like 20-30 minutes out via taxi (which is just $5 each way).
You don't really need to do it all inclusive (the food in the restaurants nearby is good and cheap), but it's nice to be out there because the lodging there is what you want as far as DHV and privacy is concerned. The nature around there is dope as well.
InternationalSwagger is shooting down there this weekend and he'll probably drop some intel when he gets back after a week. That should be helpful.

Agreed on the list. As for Panama v. Colombia, it depends on what the subject is. Colombian girls are without question hotter, but Panama is more wordly than Colombia. You find women from all over the world in Panama (well, Europe, NA, and LA at least).
Also, in terms of first world amenities, Panama without question. It's just an easier place to fall back, especially if you still need to handle business.
Ever try opening a bank account in Colombia? It could take forever if you're an American. I know one guy that took him 2 years, and he even needed a letter from his local congressman.
Panama is an international banking hub and you can't walk more than a block without passing a few ATM machines. Opening a bank account is effortless.
If you're trying to get away from the US and North American culture altogether, than yeah, Colombia would be much better. Panama is way too Americanized. They even celebrate two independence days (one from Spain and one from Colombia, which the US bought from them).
Panamanians are way too influenced by the culture of the United States. There's a distinct difference between Central American countries and South American countries. The latter are far more nationalistic and proud, with each country having its unique identity. Some people really dig that, and that's what I like about South America.
Central America has always been seen as the US backyard, being dominated by US cultural hegemony. You're starting to see some changes on the political front with some countries, but culturally they are more humble and less nationalistic and unique compared to South American countries.
Panama is like the final frontier, a bridge between these two worlds.
LOL. If it takes you more than two days to open a bank account in Latin America, then you really need to deepen your understanding of how the world works.

You need a cedula (Government ID) to open a bank account in Colombia as an American, which you can't get with a tourist visa (money laundering reasons). You need legal foreign residence to get one (easier said than done).
US Citizens could easily open bank accounts in Panama before, but the US Government recently passed a bogus law called FACTA in December that makes it harder now. Some banks in Panama have now stopped opening new bank accounts for Americans, while others have to go through a laborious process of reporting your info, including financial assets, to the US Government, and that costs those banks money (which is a cost passed onto you).
This is just one of many disappointing and overreaching Big Brother moves introduced under the Obama Administration.
Panama was one of the "escape moves" for consideration on my shortlist in the next few years. Now, I'm looking to set up shop elsewhere...
However, I know what you meant TudoBem. There's always a way of getting around rules in Latin America if you know the right people.
