I've just came back from a meeting with a friend. We had a beer and a nice chat. And I noticed again how conservative his views are. Politically, socially etc. He has many siblings and they all got married in their early 20s (one even earlier), they all got their PhDs, and they are generally very risk-averse people. I on the other hand consider myself to be rather liberal. But it's always nice to meet him and hear his version of the world.
I think they way we were all raised (social class, education of parents) etc. greatly shape those views whether we want it or not.
And I wonder what the family backgrounds of the people in this forum are. So I thought I'd post this poll.. Perhaps we'll see a pattern? Obviously I agree with the views in this forum, but how universal are they?
So my question is: What is your family's social background?
