Nice pics IceH20...I like your style in women. They are all cute, but the very first pic of the girl with the black top you posted is my style. Usually I prefer blondes, but that would do in a blondes absence.

I agree the top one was very nice. [Image: smile.gif]

Northwest United States like Seattle and Portland could be a good choice. Both those cities have their plus and minuses.

Portland

Good: One really cool thing about Oregon is no sales tax on anything. Portland also has a different and unique vibe than many other US cities. Close to the ocean and lots of outdoors stuff to do. The people don't seem to have attitude issues like some other places. Portland also has a fast growing Hispanic population which is great if you like Latinas.

Bad: A lot of fat and ugly girls. The weather is shit often and many people get super depressed from the weather. I've heard stories that some summers the sun was only visible like 10 days.

Seattle

No state income tax. The city also has a similar vibe to Portland. Very close proximity to Vancouver, BC which has a lot more foreign girls. Seattle also has a large Asian population and a growing Hispanic population as well. Weather seems better in Seattle but I hear it can be terrible too.

I can't think of many negatives for Seattle because I haven't really been there enough. I have been to Portland 4 or 5 occasions.

If i was going to settle in the Northwest United States I would probably pick the Portland area but get a house on the Washington state side. (right across the bridge, less than 10 minutes away) Combine no state income tax plus no sales tax and you can save yourself some cash.

Some of these places are really sounding nice. I've never really considered Taiwan but thinking about looking into it more. I like the idea that it isn't really on the main tourist trail at all and even though it's pretty developed there you still get the Southeast Asian prices. The women look good too. I'm also lit up by Lisbon, Biarratz, Barcelona, and Floreanapolis.

Has anyone spent time in Chile? Simon Black rants and raves about it being the ultimate home base location, and it does sound pretty sweet.

I actually think what I need to do is sit down and write out a longer more detailed list, being even more picky so I don't have so many options. That way I can narrow it down and get exactly what I'm looking for. Otherwise I'll be doing this all year.

Too many amazing places to live in the world.

Barcelona fits the bill. Endless supply of EE hotties and Scandinavian tourists too. It's not too expensive.. I was actually amazed by how cheap food and drinks are in Spain (if you stay away from certain clubs - but then again, that's where you'll find those type of chicks..)

Lisbon is awesome too. Even more cheap than Barcelona but not the same access to other European cities by cheap airlines. Portuguese women in Lisbon are beautiful and great girlfriends but def. hard to get if you're looking for SNL's. The country is still very much traditional.

Avoid Switzerland like the plague. Super expensive and a feminist haven (except that they don't apply it to casual sex as the Scandis do).

If you're looking for great weather, maybe Nice in France might be your thing. Then there's Rome and Florence.

Barcelona is sounding better and better for sure. The only things that I'm wondering about are the costs and whether or not it might be too big and crowded for me. But everyone I talk to says good things.

What do you think a reasonable living budget would be there? Not to scrimp by but to have a good time and enjoy the city while living there?

I've got to finish up a divemaster program in Thailand after the new years, and then I'm thinking about heading out to Europe, meeting up with a friend in Switzerland, and going to have a look.

Have you ever been to Zurich or Lausanne, the two party cities in Switzerland? Completely different vibe and well worth a look. That said, Switzerland is out for me as a permanent destination because it's land-locked.

Thanks for the tips!

BB,
Yeah Chile might be a good place overall, but girls wise, I keep on hearing to simply skip it as the girls are average at best. Overall, Chile is an overpriced version of Argentina. I'd say good if you're in the wine business but for some reason, Chile doesn't vibe with me. In South America, I'd much rather use Colombia (Pareira or any other 2nd/3rd tier city) to live it up or in a 2nd/3rd tier city in Brasil like say Belo Horizonte (btw, another awesome suggestion to your list of places to consider: Belo Horizonte and Joao Pessoa). BH is not on the beach, but you're only 1.5 hours by plane from Rio and SP's states's glorious beaches. Tons of hot girls, chill and relaxed place, not as expensive as Rio or SP but a fun place to be and the girls are among the hottest in Brasil, if not the hottest.

Joao Pessoa is on the beach and Chochemonger has been raving about it here and I've also only heard positive things about it. So keep those 2 cities in mind as well too to your list.

Totally ageed with you that there are way too many awesome places to visit and live at around the world. Some very tough decisions have to be made that's for sure....

The Hispanic population is mostly Mexican, and thus, not a whole lot of attractive women.

As far as fat/ugly American girls, yes, but much lower than most US cities. Portland has one of the most active populations in the country.

Also, summers here are awesome. I always plan traveling in the winter so I can be back here summertime.

Yeah, I think I'll just have to pick a spot and plan to live there a couple years, and if it grows on me it does. If not, no big deal - try one of the other amazing spots. Thinking too permanent might be a lil' ambitious, especially for somewhere I've never been. lol

BB and anyone in the same boat, looking at places to choose for a semi-permanent base. Say for the next 2-3 years, make a list of 5-7 cities to live, spend in each city 3-4 months to have a good feel for it and after 2 years, you'd have a very good feel of it based on your own first hand experience. I or someone else may love a place and you may hate it and vice versa. Nothing better than first hand experience. That's what I'm going to do for the near future, starting from the spring of 2012, starting in Asia. My short list for the next 2-3 years consists of: Chiang Mai, Thailand; Bali, Indonesia; Davao City, Philippines; Taiwan, Shanghai, Beijing or even Kunmin, China; Barcelona, Spain; Belo Horizonte and Joao Pessoa, Brasil; Pareira, Colombia and also a 2nd tier city in the Ukraine. My dream tough is to live in Tokyo and I'll do that once my cash flow reaches 15k+/month as that's the sickest place on Planet Earth.

Hey VP I've seen you rave about Tokyo quite a bit and it sound like a great place to visit but it seems like a tougher place longer term, as an example I read than 90% of landlords will not rent to foreigners. I'd definitely still love to visit but probably just for a short trip.

I'm thinking of giving Montreal a go next year, there have been a lot of positive reports about the city on here and as a brit I get a six month tourist visa so I could do April till the end of September so I'd miss the worst of the weather.

Jalouse,
I've been around the world and no place blew my mind like Tokyo. It's simply unreal. No words can truly describe it, you have to go there and experience it for yourself. While it is true that it can be a challenge securing a good long term deal for accommodations in Tokyo, it's not as hard as it seems. When I was in Tokyo, I saw ads everywhere for appartments without the unfamous "key money" which is basically a gift no less of 5-8 months rent for him for thanking him/her to allow you to rent their place. Yes the key money is a killer but spend a week there and you can find a decent place without that infamous key money. As I said, I saw a lot of ads advertising aparts/condos for foreigners without the key money in the 1.5 to 3k/month for a decent studio or 1 bedroom apartment in a good area of Tokyo. So Tokyo is sick but when you go to Tokyo, don't go there on budget as it wouldn't be worth it. That's why I recommend at least at the very basic minimum minimum, 5k/month. But to have a truly awesome time there, 10-15k/month is a requirement me thinks based on what I saw and experienced there during my short time there earlier this year. God, can't wait to return there!

Good idea for Montreal, during that time frame should be a ton of fun, specially in the long and sunny summer days. Quebecoises girls are hot, fashionably and slutty. Music to our ears. [Image: smile.gif] Btw, how's your French? I'd suggest you brush up on it and learn as much as you can before you get there, it'll make your experience that much more enjoyable.

Take a look at this interesting post talking about life in Japan:
http://www.all-about-teaching-english-in...shock.html
This seems to match well with what you've described.

My French sucks, I'm still learning Spanish and I'll most likely stay in Latin America until next year. I wonder if my improved Spanish would help as French is closer to Spanish than English or maybe I'd just end up more confused?

VP, the way you rave about Tokyo, definitely makes me want to go there ASAP. However, unless Asian women are your number #1 choice by far (and i do like them alot but not that much) I can't see how paying Tokyo prices is worth it more than staying long term, in a 2nd tier city in Brazil, Colombia or E. Europe. Maybe for a month or 2 for an unreal mind blowing experience, but not in the long term. At least for most of us.

Chochemonger,
Before going to Asia, I was not into asian girls at all. As a matter of fact, I had negative interest in asian girls. Now that I spent a few months there and had a taste of their uber feminity, it's totally addictive. And the J girls take that feminity to a whole new level.

Let me put it this way: The place I've been where I've seen the highest concentration of 9's and 10s in my travels around the world so far has been in Shibuya, Tokyo on a saturday night. Absolutely un-f-king real! And this is coming from a man whose favorite playground was Brasil before going to Asia and who has been to Buenos Aires (to be honest, I thought the women there totally average and couldn't wait fast enough to return to Brasil). So you do NOT have to have the yellow fever or the J fever before going but let me warn you and anyone else who hasn't been there yet, that once you do, it's like crossing the Rubicon of feminity. I find this hard to wrap my head around. Must just be your taste cause I personally just don't find Asian women to be physically attractive, despite there feminity. I've dated an asian girl, and she was cool as fuck, but I just wasn't that physically attracted and she was a bad lay. I'm sure I'll check out Asia sometime, but it's probably gonna be one of the last places I go. One of my friends just got back from Asia and one of the first things he said was how much he missed latina girls (Though he said Asians were easy, especially in Japan).

Check out the B.O.B. - it's like 4 bars in one big building. It's downtown in a nice walkable area with smaller irish-style pubs nearby.

It's really hard to explain the draw until you've been surrounded by nothing but Asian women and seen what really hot Asian women actually look like. It's like planting yourself down in the middle of a country with nothing but blonde chicks. Whether or not you're attracted to blondes before you go, the amazing quality of the outliers that you see while there will ensure you walk away with a blonde addiction. Like I said, it's hard to explain because there's some other quality about asians that makes banging them all the time hook you, but it's something you can only experience yourself.

All I can say is give it a shot and then report back with your comparisons to how you feel about brazilians.

Note: I've definitely had a few Asian enthusiasts tell me I should go to S. America though so it probably depends on the guy. I would say that trying both out is an absolute must. And life is short enough that why the hell not. [Image: biggrin.gif]

I banged my first Asian woman a month ago she was 30 but looked like she was 19 and while I touched her or fucked her she was moaning like a crying bitch, like in the porns you see. I think this is the other quality that Beyond Borders talks about[Image: biggrin.gif] Before her I was not really into Asian girls but now I am a bit hooked. Recommended.
