I never really did the hotel thing, so I can't comment. I stayed in bunk beds in a hostel. But I did look at a few cheap hotel rooms. I know that there are tons in the $25 and up price range so you should not be short of options. I guess the main thing is will they give you problems bringing girls back. I think Napolitano is a good choice at about $75 a night, though there are much cheaper options. someone told me napolitano charges $20 each time a guest uses the pool. Search the threads maybe. But, yes, you should not have any problem finding a lot of chioces after you arrive. The hostel I stayed at is called hostel casa grande. Rooms start at about 1400 pesos a night. They don't give a shit who you bring back. The location is central and there is a tiny tiny pool on the roof. It would be a good landing spot until you find exactly what you want.
Airbnb can work too, though I have heard at least one horror story in SD. Anyhow, many hotel names have been dropped in these threads already.

Hey guys, I've been lurking this forum for a few weeks now and this is my first post here so hopefully I'm not doing anything out of the ordinary.
First and foremost, you guys are super informative and I'm happy to have stumbled upon this forum. I've read through most of this thread which dates all the way back to 2010 [if memory serves correct] and you guys are super helpful.
On that note, I'm planning a trip to DR in August with a couple buddies and I wasn't sure if I was required to make a new thread so I figured I'd post in this one. If I ask questions that have already been answered, please forgive me.
Where in DR do you recommend we go? My friends and I are always on missions to not p4p and from what I read, going to Souza, that's all you'll find. This isn't a knock on anyone btw, but we would like to try and bag without the paying aspect. The problem is that we are beach guys also and from what I understand, the closest beach to Santo Domingo is about 19 miles away and for Santiago even further. Cabarete (sp?) seems to have the best beach 'day life' while Sousa has better night life but again my friends and I really want to meet locals and would like to avoid p4p. Now, that's not saying a night or two we wouldnt succumb to that but it would get played out pretty fast. It seems like there isn't an "all incluvisve" place to go. For example, if you want the best looking women, Santiago is where to go but you'd have to sacrifice beaches/nightlife. If you want beaches, cabrete is nice but you'd sacrifice nightlife. Sousa has nightlife but you'd sacrifice beaches/having to deal with all pros like I'm playing Madden. I read here also that Sousa and Cabarete aren't too far from each other but we would definitely like to enjoy the beach life, especially if its possible, meeting locals at the beach. I also read somewhere here that sometimes locals go to certain resorts for the weekend?
Lastly: Danger. I've talked to 3 people that are from Dominican Republic, two of which are telling me to not leave the resort because its "so dangerous." How dangerous are we talking? My other friend (female) said we should be ok as long as we are careful. But another one who talked to his family that is still down there said crime in Santo Domingo is pretty high right now. I'd really like to not be on a resort only but I also don't want to get sliced up.
Quick background on me: I'm brown skin, about 6'3 and was born in the US, but my parents are of Jamaican descent. I just started traveling a couple of years ago. Been to quite a few countries including Brazil. My spanish is not great, nor is my Portuguese. When we went to Brazil, we pulled quite a few locals without knowing ANY Portuguese, one of which I still talk to now. I've actually been there 3 times (Sao Paulo once, Rio twice, once during Carnival) and my girlfriend down there took me around, met the fam, ate etc. The irony in my lack of Spanish is that my mother is a Spanish professor who has her doctorate. My plan is to learn as much as I can from my mother starting in May. Please don't ask why I didn't learn from her since I was little. Its basically because I'm an idiot and hated learning another language. I'm really regretting it now but nothing I can do.
Thanks for all the help guys. I didn't want to go into much detail but if you'd like, I can give you some info on brazil or any of the other places I've been or if you'd like to know more about me. Again, this site is awesome; I dunno how I stumbled upon it but I'm thankful I did.

^ Maybe you can spend a couple days at the beach at Punta Cana and the rest in Santo Domingo or Santiago. I spent time in Santo Domingo and liked the city.
Santo Domingo didn't feel unsafe to me. Then again I was rolling with people at night, not walking alone too late, and keeping my ears and eyes open, and in the daytime I didn't roll to ghetto areas alone. Also being brown skinned helps in terms of danger as you don't stand out as much. If you keep your wits about you and have common sense in terms of safety I don't see why Santo Domingo would be dangerous. Obviously I can't speak for the more dangerous parts of town as some forum members have gone to.
The whole don't leave the resort rhetoric is bullshit, at least in Punta Cana. Punta Cana is pretty safe and I was rolling alone there for 2 nights.

Santo Domingo doesn't feel that dangerous. I have been here 4 months and am white like an irishman. I was afraid to go to santo domingo cuz everyone here in DR kinda talks shit about it. But in reality its only about as dangerous at Atlanta, perhaps Detroit. Meaning, stay out of the wrong neighborhoods (you will know) and be careful where you go at night. People do get murdered here. But you can take precautions.
I like cabarete and santo domingo. Santiago is great too. Santo domingo feels more like a large modern city like Miami. Whereas Santiago feels a little more small time, though the girls are hot. You should start online game at least 2-8 weeks before arrival. Girls you meet online have a high conversion rate. For tips on that, send me a PM. It seems like most of the girls online are in puerto plata, santiago, and santo domingo. If you find that one city has more girls you like online, then you can plan more time for that city. You can't go wrong with doing santiago, puerto plata, and cabarete (for euro girls). If you want strictly dominican girls, you might just do santiago and puerto plata. Puerto Plata might be a little more dangerous than Santo Domingo though. I'm not an expert. It didn't feel real bad though. But you should always be careful in the DR. People are chill, but then you are always reading about violent shit happening.

Appreciate the quick responses torontokid and kavakid. When I read your username torontokid, I had to chuckle only because I actually just got our plans to head up to Toronto finalized for Caribana weekend in August.
So it sounds like you guys are both saying to avoid Sosua because neither of you mentioned it in your post?
I'm not sure how "tight" my game is but again, we've bagged quite a few locals in Brazil only knowing "obrigado" (thank you) and "muito prazer" (nice to meet you). Three of us will be going and one of them is bent on going to Sosua due to how inexpensive it is. But my other friend is all about getting girls without p4p and I'm simply neutral although I lean more towards the 'not p4p' crowd.
I'm going to mention Puerto Plata to them tonight as well.
Info is much appreciated guys.

Sosua is p4p central on the north coast. On the weekend sosua and cabarete get some normal girls from puerto plata and santiago. But its not ideal. Cabarete is definitely better as there are more euro girls there, and a more hip vibe.
Changing topics here...
I was just in a large supermarket chain in Santo Domingo. Me and my dominican looking roommate saw these HB 9 chicks walk by. Thin, light skin, large tits, ass, model faces. We are approach machines but we were intimidated. I was dressed up but he was in a dirty t and flip flops. We were like "how are we gonna do this?" He was like "lemme think about this approach" as we quietly stalked them. Then he was like "I'm goin in".
Turns out they are venezuelan. We ended up hitting it off pretty well. I was definitely impressed by venezuelan talent now, and gonna have to make a trip one day...
On the taxi ride home we passed a protest for the overthrow of venezuelan president maduro. It was near my house so I walked back there. By chance, just as I was joining the protest, the same girl from the market walks out to the same spot I come in. I was like " are you following me?"
Anyhow, some amazing talent there at that protest...

Is this normal?
I just created an account on badoo to test out the waters, put up a few pictures, filled in a few fields and put up a couple sentences under my profile, took me 5 minutes.
By the time I had done that I had 4 messages waiting for me. It sounds too good to be true. I'm expecting better than pof where I get 1 message like this once a week, but not like this.

Meant to ask this earlier (forgive me) but I was reading something about being careful of the taxi situation. My friend from DR just told me that a friend of his sister (which are dominican by the way), went back to DR recently and the cab driver took them to some "port" and forced them to strip. They got away unharmed but were humiliated. What's the safest way in terms of taking taxi's? I noticed a few people here offering "drivers." Little curious about this.

Credited that Santo Domingo does not feel unsafe and it is a surprisingly nice city. The central historico area feels really authentic and even though it is the tourist area of town it is still 90% Dominican. Never felt unsafe at all there. And it's nice being in SD cause you actually see tons of DR girls versus being in Punta Cana, etc and seeing mostly tourists. Punta Cana felt like one of the most artificial places I've been. I don't even think any locals really live near the resorts, they actually bus in most of the workers.
That's the bad thing IMHO about the DR--- its just hard to have a normal experience cause so many of the developed beach resort areas are just mega resorts. Most tourists come here and literally never see any of the country. Would love to come back and just go to remote places and see how things are but have a feeling it would be a pain in the ass with accommodations, etc.

Thanks I'll check out tagged, and see what I can make happen there. As far as hotels are concerned what do you consider average priced (I asked as I know I'm a bit more picky than most) and what hotels in the area are a bit above average. I definitely like to go a bit more upscale as the wow factor usually makes the panties drop that much faster and I like nice places. I havent really made a budget as I don't know whats realistic, though from reading some post here I'm tempted to say money isnt an object but then again I plan on staying a few weeks so 100-$150 a night will not be doable. Also I work online so a good internet connection is a must anyone have experience with a place that might fit my needs in ZC??? or would I be better off figuring it out as I go along, which is what I usually do when visiting somewhere for the first time which seems to work best for me. Whoops and the main reason I'm going is to learn spanish, I don't want to go to a school but a private tutor whom can work with me one on one sorry if this is too much or the wrong thread if so let me know and I'll start a new one or whatever is needed to be done. Thanks in advance fellas
I liked this place. Poolside bar and the logistics were very solid.

Been playing around on badoo the past day, I've been extremely surprised with this. So easy to talk and have them ask many questions and allow conversation. I've been opened a few times by cute girls as well. The quality of these girls it seems are entirely in the 6-7 range so far, but Ii'm not complaining. I've barely done anything but put up a couple good pictures and just relax as I don't even have to try conversation much. I've gotten a couple numbers and an email to message without asking too.

I don't know if you are spending money on Badoo or not.
I found
Badoo success = spend money to boost profile ranking
Dominican cupid = money to even play but worth it.
Tagged = no money needed to get good response rate

I exchanged a couple messages with this seemingly cute girl before taking a look at her profile. Upon looking she stated that she weighs 109 kg. I asked her about that, 'verdad?' and she says yes..
I don't understand, she has several pictures of a thin girl yet says she weighs over 200 pounds.
I'm thinking these girls lie a lot more than north american ones online.

Yeah they don't get the weight thing don't worry about it I've seen loads of them saying 300 pounds or whatever and it's not the case. Also maybe you can turn Pitt onto them if you don't feel like wasting time.

I have seen the mean IQ of the Dominican Republic cited at 75, and the girls' attention to detail reflects that.
I just got back earlier this week from the Santiago Trip Parte Dos, which I'll write more about when I have time/motivation. A pre-med student I pipelined listed herself at 4'7", which I knew was an error given her photos and stated weight (105 lbs). Later had her out and ended up blowing me (supposedly virgin) on the second time--was actually 5'7". Couldn't bust since I had banged two girls that day and was running purely on pharmaceutical assistance.
So I would trust, to the extent you can trust a random DR sloot on the internet, but verify.

Very interesting..
And yes a couple times I have seen girls put their height as 4'7 and 4'8. Because only 0.01% of the female population is actually that short I'm very inclined to believe they don't actually know their height.

They're probably trying to convert kilos to lbs and meters to feet in their heads and can't afford calculators. Most other countries are on the metric system, so be a little understanding of other cultures.

I see. I don't think these girls are stupid, just that they aren't accurately informed on whatever height system is being used. Whenever I have a friend visit me from Brazil and we run into the topic of height and weight they are always confused about our feet and pound measures, so I can understand where this comes from.

Thanks Kavakid/Renotime, based on what you've told me and what I've read I'm going to stay at Neapolotano the first few nights. Kavakid since you are there and a few others on this thread are on the ground or have alot of DR experience maybe you can lend your opinion to what is my plan tentatively.... From what I can gather the higher end areas with Luxuary condos would be Gazcue and Nacos (close to malls, restaruants, and colleges correct? I hope so i like college bitches). I dont care to be around heavy a touristy area, or where a lot of people speak english well or any at all for that fact. I more care about being in an upscale neighborhood and settling in a bit more long term (I saw some really nice condos on CL for around $800-$1k usd does this sound right for those areas). Maybe 3 months maybe longer depending on how I like it. The plan is to be learning spanish, banging chicks, and taking mini excursions around the island using santo domingo as home base... I Work online for a US company making US dollars so spending pesos in the DR seems like it should afford me a somewhat lavish lifestyle in the DR but then again I wouldnt know... This is all info I'm gathering from the threads does it sound like a solid plan for the experience I'm looking for which again is to be running international playboy game, I dont care if the chicks are upscale or not simply that shes fine and there are alot of fine ones on tagged so far.... Pipelining with spanish skills that range from non-existent to piss poor using google translate. If all goes well i'll be touching down in as soon as one month as far out as three

If i had to do it all over again, i wouldnt stay a single night in santo Domingo.
